Attention, Team Eglin! You're invited to the first College Football Game Of The Week at Legends Sports Grill, where our "Insane Impact" outdoor mega-screen will present all the gridiron action in giant 15-by-8-foot high resolution! Join the tailgate party as Legends fires up the outdoor grill for some proper game-day dining. The featured game and start time will be posted at Legends during the week prior, and also announced on EglinLife's social media pages. Thursday, October 17 | 3:30-4:30 pm Eglin School Age Care invites you to their National Lights On Afterschool "Kick-Off" event. It's your opportunity to celebrate Eglin's amazing School Age program in appreciation of the important role it plays in the lives of the youth in our military community. Get a look at the many experiences the program offers and participate in some of its fun activities. Everyone attending is encouraged to wear their favorite sport team's t-shirt or jersey. Operation Hero 2019 REGISATRATION REQUIRED: 4 pm | Friday, October 11 EVENT: Saturday, October 19 | 9:30 am | Hangar 103

Operation Hero, hosted annually by Eglin's Airman & Family Readiness Center, is a mock deployment experience open to all Team Eglin children, youth, and teens — including youth from Duke Field and 7th SFG. The deployment experience consists of three phases. Phase 1 is the deployment processing line at the 96 AMXS Hangar 103, where participants are issued their dog tags and ID's, plus receive t-shirts and other TO SUBSCRIBE FOR giveaways. In Phase 2, participants and parents will take part in fun activities NEWS + presented by a variety of base and community supporters, including face painting, UPDATES deployment demonstrations, and military vehicles and weapons displays. In Phase 3, TEXT participants will receive a hero's "welcome home" reception with food for all to enjoy, plus K-9 demonstrations, aircraft displays, and more. • Dinner & A Book Club Select Mondays | 5:30 - 6 :30 pm

If you love reading, and discussing your favorite books with other readers, join the Eglin Library for their Dinner & A Book Club. Bring your own dinner to enjoy, and let the Library serve up the dessert and coffee. No registration is required. Monthly discussions for the remainder of the year are as follows: Monday, Oct. 21 - "Something in the Water" by Catherine Steadman Monday, Nov. 18 - "Happiness: The Crooked Little Road to Semi-Ever After" by Heather Harpham Monday, Dec. 16 - "The Library Book" by Susan Orlean Digital copies of these titles are available for your e-reading device, FREE through the Library's databases. • Winter Youth Sports Registration

REGISTRATION REQUIRED Monday - Friday, October 15 - November 22 | 12-5 :30 pm Registration for youth basketball and cheer is set to begin at the Eglin Youth Center. Cost is $50 per child or $100 per family. Early registration runs Oct. 15-Nov. 15 and late registration will continue through Nov. 18-22. All signups after Nov. 15 will be assessed a $10 late fee. Player Age Groups are as follows: Basketball: 5-6 / 7-9/ 10-12, players must be age 5 prior to Dec. 10 and must be under age 12 prior to Feb. 22, 2020 and Cheer: 5-8 / 9-12, players must be age 5 prior to Dec. 10 & must be under age 12 prior to Feb. 22, 2020. Player Evaluations for all basketball participants ages 9-12 is scheduled for Nov. 20 in the Youth Center Gym at 5:30 p.m. Players under age 9 will be placed on teams according to respective age groups without evaluation. Practices begin Tuesday, Dec. 10 and games start Saturday, Jan. 11 - Feb. 22, 2020 at Eglin or Hurlburt. A Mandatory Parent Orientation meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 19 & Thursday, Nov. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the Eglin Youth Center Gym. All youth participating in sports must have a current sports physical, shot record showing current Flu Shot, birth certificate, & recent Parent Orientation (within the last year) completed and on file prior to starting practices for the season. Volunteer Coaches Needed! Coaches receive $50 discount per family. If interested, please contact Mr. Bracey at 850-883-1426 to coordinate a date/time for the mandatory Coach’s Certification Training. All Coaches must bring a copy of the most current shot record showing Flu Shot, Self-Aid Buddy Care (SABC) Certificate/or Combat Life Skills (CLS) Certificate, and CPR Card/Certificate. The Eglin Golf Course is excited to announce a new "Future Stars" Golf Program for boys and girls ages 4-6. This fun and hands-on introduction to the game of golf will teach full swing and short game, plus safety and etiquette. Register for one choice of two class times (10:30 a.m. or 12 p.m.) offered on one of the following dates: October 19 | November 2 | November 16 Cost is $100 per student and includes equipment, if needed. • Showcase Your "SPOOKY-fied" Vehicle! Friday, October 25 | 5 -7 pm

We're looking for several dozen decorated vehicles to populate Trunk-Or-Treat Lane at this year's FallFest. If you would like to volunteer to "trim your trunk" and pass out treats to children, we would love to hear from you. "Best Trunk" prizes will be awarded! Candy supplies will be supplemented by 96 FSS, while supplies last. Event volunteers are also needed. Be a part of Eglin's biggest program of the year! Mid-Night Meal TEST PERIOD: 11 pm - 1 am September 29 - October 31 The 96th Force Support Squadrons' Food Services, in keeping with its mission of "Grand Slam" support, will be testing the possibility of offering a mid-night meal at The Lift. Previously known as Tradewinds Flight Kitchen, The Lift is located in the Base Operations Building. A test period will run from Sep. 29 to Oct. 31, with meals offered Sunday-Thursday nights from 11 p.m.- 1 a.m. During this testing phase, we request your feedback as to whether this meal meets the needs of our swing/midnight shift workers, and what improvements could make it better. FSS looks forward to offering this service to our customers, and we hope to hear from you soon!
