Zombie Run

Friday, October 29 | 7:15 am Run for your lives at the Eglin Fitness Center's Zombie Run! All with base access are invited to participate in the 1.5-mile run starting at the entrance of the Fitness Field House (Bldg 741). Participants will be given a belt with flags that represent your health. Zombies will try to take your flags—and maybe eat your brains! Use speed, strategy and your intact brains to make it to the finish “alive” with at least one flag intact. If you cross the finish line with at least one flag, then you'll receive a “Survivor” medal; if you cross with no flags, then you'll receive an “Infected” medal. Trunk-or-Treat FallFest! Friday, October 29 | 5 - 7 pm

The 96th Force Support Squadron invites the entire Eglin community to a spook-tacular evening of Halloween festivities at this year's Trunk-Or-Treat FallFest! Get your scare on and bring the whole family out to Postl Point for this kid-friendly event full of ghoulishly good fun. Trunk-Or-Treat Lane will open at 5 p.m., showcasing vehicles decorated in their Halloween best and filled with FREE candy for kids of all ages. Also enjoy hayrides, a live DJ, and food trucks on site for food and beverage purchases. Event admission is FREE to everyone with base access! Please help us keep this event safe for our families by following all posted guidance as recommended by Eglin Public Health. FAMCAMP Boo Bash Saturday, October 30 | 3 - 6 pm

Join the Eglin FAMCAMP for a Boo Bash at Camp Robbins! The head start on Halloween festivities begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 with a pumpkin patch ready for visitors to pick and paint pumpkins and other activities.. A costume contest will begin at 4 p.m., and the evening ends with hay rides from 5 to 6 p.m. Contact the FAMCAMP office for more information! 850-883-1243


Movie Nights at Postl Point Fridays | 7 pm

Enjoy outdoor movies at Postl Point on Friday nights! Parking will accommodate up to 50 vehicles per show. Admission is FREE and open to all Eglin personnel and family members. Full Moon Kayak Tuesday, October 19 | 7 pm

Come paddle with Eglin Outdoor Recreation out from Postl Point to see the full moon rise over the bay. This two-hour guided excursion will take participants on a kayaking trip to a small secluded beach for an amazing view of the night sky, s'mores and a moonlit paddle back to Postl Point. Participation is open to all base personnel and registered guests, ages 16 and older, who have some prior kayaking experience. Cost is $25 per person and includes all necessary equipment and ingredients for s'mores. Single and double kayaks are available. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and a flashlight, and to wear non-cotton clothing. Date may be adjusted in the case of inclement weather conditions. Swim Lessons at the Eglin Pool October 12 - 28 | Tuesdays and Thursdays Eglin Outdoor Recreation is hosting swimming lessons at the Eglin Pool! The session includes six classes that meet every Tuesday and

Thursday from Oct. 12 to Oct. 28, and there are two different age groups. Parent-tot classes (9-36 months) are 9 - 9:30 a.m. or 10:20 - 10:50 a.m., and preschool classes (ages 3-5) are 9:40 - 10:10 a.m. or 11 - 11:30 a.m. The cost is $60 per session and is prorated based on when kids are registered — there is a $10 discount for each missed class until Oct. 19. There is no deadline to register for the session. Space is limited, and kids must be registered prior to the start of each class. Stop by or call Outdoor Rec to learn more and register. 850-882-5058

RecOn* Zip Line Trip Saturday, October 23 | 8:30 am Soar with Eglin Outdoor Recreation over scenic landscapes on an ultimate Zip Line Trip at Adventures Unlimited in Milton, FL! This thrilling

outdoor experience features 15 high-flying zips through beautiful forests and over the Blackwater River. Cost for the excursion is $30 per person and includes all adventures and equipment. Participants should bring water, insect repellent, sunscreen, lunch, snacks and a good pair of athletic or hiking shoes (no open-toed shoes allowed). Weight limit is between 70 and 250 lbs. Contact Outdoor Rec to register. Halloween Treat Bags at the Eglin Library October 27 - 29 Stop by the Eglin Library and pick up a Halloween treat bag with special surprises! Wear a costume and take advantage of the Library's photo booth while you pick up your bag. Children ages 17 and under must be present to receive a treat bag.
