Halloween Parade for Eglin Base Housing Oct. 30 | 4 p.m. A creepy cavalcade of spooks and scares will roll its way through Eglin Base Housing, and all residents are invited to be part of the fun! Eglin's first-ever Halloween Parade will follow a route through the Corvias community of homes on Eglin's west side. View the parade route here! Please Celebrate Safely! Families living directly on the parade route are asked to remain in their own yards and driveways, practice social distancing, and wear masks. Other housing residents are welcome to find their own spot along the route and are asked to maintain social distance from other families/groups, and to wear masks. Parade participants and candy throwers will be required to wear masks and gloves. All candy will be individually wrapped. Any questions, please contact Chastity Aguilar (chastity.aguilar@us.af.mil).

Movie Night at Postl Point Oct. 31 | 7 p.m. Enjoy an outdoor movie at Postl Point this Saturday night! Parking will accommodate up to 40 vehicles. Sign-up is required; visit www.signupgenius.com/go/odrmovies to reserve your space. Admission is FREE and open to all Eglin personnel and family members. (850) 882-5058

Halloween Tote Bags at the Library Oct. 28 - 30 | 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Stop by the Eglin Library and pick up a Halloween tote bag with special surprises! Wear a costume and take advantage of the

Library's photo booth while you pick up your bag. Children ages 17 and under must be present to receive a tote bag, and bags are available while supplies last. (850) 882-9308

Read for the Record with United Through Reading Oct. 29 | 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Break the record this year by making your own recording with United Through Reading! The annual "Read for the Record" program brings millions of adults and children together as they raise awareness of the importance of early literacy. A parent or child may choose a book from a special collection and make a recording of themselves reading the book. As a special treat on this day, they get to keep the book they chose to record. Stop in between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Oct. 29 to record your story! (850) 882-9308

Heart Link Oct. 29 | 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. The Airman & Family Readiness Center would like to introduce all of Eglin's military spouses to Heart Link—a top-notch

program designed to provide spouses with a better understanding of the military way of life, with concentration on the Eglin mission, military customs, traditions, protocol, and knowledge of available resources and services. A fun-filled Heart Link orientation will be held virtually through Zoom, and all spouses are invited to attend. Please call for more information or to register. (850) 882-9060

Animal Tales: “Fantastic Creatures & Where They Are Found!” Nov. 2 | 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to the Eglin Library's newest 'edZOOcation'-al program with Animal Tales: "Fantastic

Creatures & Where They Are Found!" The presentation is open to all ages with no registration required and will take place in the parking area next to the Main Fitness Center. Any changes in venue will be posted to the Library website and social media accounts. (850) 882-9308

Push ‘n’ Pull Competition Nov. 2 - Dec. 11 | 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Show off your strength at the Eglin Fitness Center’s Push ‘n’ Pull Bench and Deadlift Competition! RecOn: Axe-Throwing Trip Nov. 8 | 9:50 a.m. Join Outdoor Recreation on an axe-throwing trip! Cost is $15 per person for 1.5 hours of throwing. Trip limited to 12 people with

parent/guardian signature needed for under age 18. Closed-toed shoes are recommended. Participants must provide their own transportation to The Ratchet Hatchet, 304 Perry Ave SE, Ft. Walton Beach.
