All Team Eglin personnel and families are invited to the Bayview Event Center for WinterFest! — an evening of FREE indoor festivities including prize drawings, holiday music and food, children's activities, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Over $6,000 in prizes will be given away in the Ballroom, with random drawings starting at 5:30 p.m. and continuing throughout the evening. (You do not have to be present to win.) Winners of Eglin's 35th Annual Holiday Greeting Card Competition will be announced and cash awards presented at 5:15 p.m. in the Ballroom. FREE hors d'oeuvres and holiday treats will be served in the Sand Dollar Lounge, where the bar will also be open for purchases. Admission is FREE and open to everyone with base access. • Intramural Cross Country
Players Sign Up (LOI's Due) by December 13 | Season Starts: January 13, 2020 Players interested in participating in Eglin's Intramural Cross Country season should sign up at the Eglin Fitness Center. Contact the Fitness Center staff at 850-882-6028, or your unit's sports rep to get involved. All active duty, Guard, Reserve, DoD civilians, contractors and dependents over the age of 18 are welcome to participate in intramural sport seasons. Participants must be assigned to or affiliated with units on Eglin AFB. A coaches meeting will be held at the Main Fitness Center. All dates are tentative and subject to change. You're invited to a Harry Potter-themed "Yule Ball" presented by the Eglin Library. Stop in for a spell to enjoy holiday games, crafts, music, food, and plenty of wizarding fun! Costumes are highly encouraged for the occasion. All ages are welcome and admission is FREE; no registration required. • Star Wars Movie Nights December 6 & 13 | 6 pm
Calling all Star Wars fans! Eglin Outdoor Recreation is premiering its new "Insane Impact" mega-screen at Postl Point, with Friday-night showings of all eight episodes of the Star Wars movie saga. It's the perfect way to prepare for the cinematic release of Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker! Admission is FREE and open to all base personnel, families, and guests. Moviegoers are welcome to bring snacks, coolers, blankets, and lawn chairs. Outdoor Rec's store will be open 5:45-7 p.m. for those who would like to purchase popcorn, drinks, and snacks on site. A $25 FSS gift card will be given away at each showing, and additional giveaways are planned for the series' conclusion, including a box set of all eight episodes! (Must be present to win.) The Eglin Golf Course invites you to put on your holiday worst and get in on the competition at the Ugly Christmas Sweater Shuffle! Play is 2-person teams, 6-6-6 tournament format with flights based on average team hcp (25% team total adjusted hcp). Prizes will be awarded to top finishers — and to the ugliest sweater! Entry fees are as follows: $20 for Gold AGF Members | $30 for Silver AGF Members | $40 for Non-Members & Guests Cart, green, and tournament fees are included. • Parents' Night Out
Saturday, December 14 | 5 pm - 10 pm Eglin's Child Development Center III offers a special time for parents to enjoy a "Parents' Day (or Night) Out" one Saturday every month. This popular child care program provides a break for parents while children are safely supervised in a fun and exciting environment. Families with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years may sign up on a space-available basis for $25 per child. Activities for children include games, movies, and craft projects. Payment is non-refundable and due at the time of pre-registration, along with completed paperwork and a current shot record. Space is limited, and reservations must be made by close of business on the Thursday prior. A snack will be served. For safety, no outside food or drink will be allowed with the exception of bottles for infants. Parents must advise staff of allergies and special needs during the registration process. Families eligible for FREE participation are those with referrals for the "Give Parents a Break" program (call the Airman & Family Readiness Center at 850-882-9060 for details) and U.S. Army personnel through the Army Covenant.
