Thoughts Entrepreneurs for

(in her own words)

Lesson 1

Work with it!

You don’t become what you want. You become what you believe.

When Oprah was taken off the News Team and, in her eyes, demoted to talk features, she cried, then realized that this was the perfect opportunity to become what she was destined to be. Look at the changes that the pandemic brought as an opportunity, it could be exactly the catalyst you need. 88 | experience growth Magazine | Autumn 2020

The more you Celebrate praise and through it! celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate Lesson 2

Oprah has cultivated an attitude of gratitude. It would be easy for her to live in the past and relive her experiences. That wasn't for her. She celebrates the journey.

Lesson 1

Prepare for it!

Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity

Do your best and keep practicing your craft even when you think no one is watching. When you least expect it an opportunity appears and because you are prepared, you can take advantage of it. Make sure 2021 doesn't catch you unprepared. Autumn 2020 | experience growth Magazine | 89

Lesson 4

Learn from it!

So go ahead. Fall down. The world looks different from the ground.

The most incredible lessons are usually the most painful ones. They are the ones where you are humble and open enough to understand where you went wrong and how to avoid a repeat. Whatever, you’ve been through this year, is a lesson. Learn from it.

Lesson 5

Value

When you it! undervalue what you do, the world will undervalue who you are

The world doesn't need another version of the person you admire. The world needs that version of you that you think is of no value to show up. There is only one Oprah. There is only one you. Both valuable to the world.

Lesson 6

Grow through it!

Turn your wounds into wisdom

Oprah was wounded by situations and circumstances early in her life. However, she was able to turn those wounds into wisdom that she shared with the world. Over the last year, I am sure you’ve experience a few wounds. Learn from it and become better.

Lesson 7

Don’t rush it!

You can have it all just not all at once

Oprah knew from an early age what she wanted to do. It didn't come immediately, but as she worked at it, she got better and better and then more and more opportunities and offers came. Work at your craft this year. And be ready when the opportunity comes. Autumn 2020 | experience growth Magazine | 91

2. Teach what you know

My business was first built around a book called “What is your dream?” I wrote this book on the back of the voluntary work I did in my church. I was very active in my local church and wanted to provide the young boys attending with their parents a better experience. They were bored with Sunday School and they were certainly not listening to the sermons. So I started a group called Boyz2Men, ages 12 to 16. It was a great success, the boys had great imagination especially when you
