شهد مطار القاهرة الدولى خالل الـ 24ساعة الماضٌة انطالق 104رحالت دولٌة وداخلٌة للشركة الوطنٌة مصر للطٌران لنقل 9 آالف و 520راكب مصرى وأجنبى إلى وجهاتهم. وأفاد مصدر مالحى ،أن مطار القاهرة الدولى شهد إقالع 72رحلة دولٌة ،و 32رحلة داخلٌة متجهة إلى المطارات الداخلٌة ،والتى شهدت جمٌعها انتظا ًما فى مواعٌد اإلقالع حسب جدول التشغٌل المقرر.

شهد مطار القاهرة الدولى ،خالل الـ 24ساعة الماضٌة ،وصول 106رحالت دولٌة وداخلٌة سٌرتها الشركة الوطنٌة مصر للطٌران ،وعلى متنها 7آالف و 635راكبا من مختلف الجنسٌات ،قادمٌن فى رحالت مباشرة إلى مصر وآخرٌن فى رحلة ترانزٌت. ووصلت إلى المطار 72رحلة دولٌة قادمة من عدة دول عربٌة وأجنبٌة ،فٌما وصلت إلى المطار 34رحلة أخرى قادمة من المدن السٌاحٌة المصرٌة ،وكان على متنها الفٌن و 28راكبا. وقامت سلطات المطار بالتعاون والتنسٌق مع العالقات العامة بشركة مصر للطٌران بتخصٌص فرق من إدارتى العالقات العامة بالشركتٌن ،الستقبال وتوجٌه الركاب وتسفٌر ركاب الترانزٌت ،وشهدت معظم الرحالت وصوال فى مواعٌدها المقررة حسب جدول التشغٌل.

قالت مصادر بالشركة الوطنٌة مصر للطٌران " :تجرى حالٌا دراسة الستئناف الرحالت الجوٌة إلى لٌبٌا ومطار القاهرة الدولً ،خالل فصل الصٌف". وأضافت المصادر أنه من المقرر تشغٌل الرحالت خالل العام الجاري ،بواقع 4 رحالت إلى العاصمة اللٌبٌة طرابلس ،و 3رحالت أخرى إلى بنغازي ،مشٌرة إلى أن الرحالت المتجهة إلى بنى غازى ستكون خالل األشهر القلٌلة المقبلة. وأضافت المصادر أنه تتم حالٌا دراسة جدوى إعادة تشغٌل الرحالت الجوٌة إلى لٌبٌا ،بعد التأكد من استقرار األوضاع األمنٌة هناك ،والتأكد من تأمٌن المطارات التى ستهٌط بها رحالت الشركة. وأشارت المصادر إلى أن وفدا من سلطة الطٌران المدنى زار مدٌنة بنى غازى نهاٌة العام الماضً ،والتقى مسئولٌن لٌبٌٌن لبحث إستئناف الرحالت الجوٌة بٌن القاهرة وبنغازي. جدٌر بالذكر أن سلطات الطٌران المدنى المصرٌة أوقفت حركة الطٌران المباشر بٌن مطارى القاهرة الدولى ومطار بنٌنا بنغازى الدولى منذ 4سنوات ،بسبب العملٌات األرهابٌة واألحداث التى تشهدها البالد هناك ،وإقتصارها على مطار برج العرب باإلسكندرٌة.

وقالت مصادر مالحٌة بالمطار ،إن رحلة الخطوط البرٌطانٌة رقم 154 المتجهة إلى لندن تأخرت ساعتٌن بسبب أعمال الصٌانة ،كما تأخرت رحلة شركة نسما للطٌران رقم 182المتجهة إلى ٌنبع ساعتٌن ونصف الساعة بسبب ظروف التشغٌل. وأضافت المصادر ،فى تصرٌحات صحفٌة ،أن رحلتى الخطوط الجوٌة السعودٌة رقمى 306و 308تأخرتا ساعة ونصف الساعة عن موعد اإلقالع المقرر فى جدول التشغٌل ،بسبب ظروف التشغٌل وأعمال الصٌانة.

غادرت مطار القاهرة الدولى ،بعثة العمرة الخاصة بالعاملٌن بشركة مٌناء القاهرة الجوى متوجهة لألراضً المقدسة ألداء مناسك العمرة تحت إشراف المهندس محمد سعٌد ،رئٌس مجلس إدارة الشركة القابضة للمطارات والمالحة الجوٌة ،والمحاسب مجدى إسحق. وقامت لجنة النشاط الرٌاضى بشركة مٌناء القاهرة الجوى برئاسة المهندس أحمد حسنى وسكرتٌر عام اللجنة ،عادل القصٌر ،باإلشراف على نقل المعتمرٌن وتقدٌم الخدمات لهم ،وقامت إدارة العالقات العامة بالمطار برٌاسة الدكتور طارق إسماعٌل ومكى محمد بفتح الصالة الممٌزة لسرعة إنهاء إجراءات سفر العاملٌن بالمطار.

www.flightglobal.com BA seeks go-ahead to wet-lease Qatar A330s amid Trent 1000 issues British Airways has applied for regulatory approval to wet-lease three Airbus A330s from Qatar Airways in order to overcome schedule disruption caused by Boeing 787 engine maintenance. A regulatory filing published by the UK Civil Aviation Authority shows that on 4 May BA requested permission to wet-lease the three aircraft between 1 June and 30 September to "support passenger operations" as it deals with the "impact of aircraft availability within its own fleet as a result of issues surrounding the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 Package C engine". BA seeks to justify the leasing of aircraft from a nonEU carrier on the basis of "exceptional needs". Qatar Airways owns a 20% stake in BA parent IAG. On 4 May, IAG chief executive Willie Walsh said that "a number" of BA's 787s would be "unavailable" during the late spring and summer months of May, June and July. Speaking at Routes Europe in Bilbao on 23 April, BA chief executive Alex Cruz had described the issue with the Trent 1000 as a "headache" which might require the leasing in of additional aircraft for the summer season. Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the Oneworld carrier has eight 787-8s in service and three on order, 16 7879s in service and one on order, and 12 787-10s on order.

ww.ch-aviation.com Taiwan's Starlux Airlines to add maiden A321neo in 3Q19 Starlux Airlines (Taipei Taoyuan) founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chang Kuo-wei says he expects the start-up to take delivery of its first A321neo in September/October 2019, the Central News Agency has reported.
During a press conference to mark the formal unveiling of his new airline in Taipei this week, Chang said he would sign leasing contracts for ten aircraft of the type later this year. Having secured its initial approvals and business licence from the Taiwanese Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), Starlux will now pursue its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) which Chang hopes to secure in time for an early 2020 launch. With a launch fleet of three A321neo, Starlux will focus on flights to Japan as well as Southeast and Northeast Asian destinations. The first of fourteen widebody aircraft, whose type has yet to be confirmed but which has been reported to be either B777300(ER)s or B787-10s, will deliver by the end of 2021. Longhaul flights to the US West Coast are expected to start around 2021/22. Given limited potential in Taiwan's point-to-point market, Chang said Starlux would also focus on developing Taipei Taoyuan into a transit hub with its regional and intercontinental routes feeding into one another.
As such, by late 2024, Starlux expects to operate a fleet of up to 24 aircraft, serving over 20 destinations in Asia and North America

Avion Express (X9, Vilnius) has signed an agreement with AviaAM Leasing for the operating lease of two A321-200s on six-year contracts. Both aircraft will be deployed into service for Thomas Cook Airlines UK (MT, Manchester Int'l) later this summer season. Avion Express specializes in ACMI contracts employing a fleet of one A319-100, nine A320-200s, and five A321200s. According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Avion Express' clients currently include Cubana, Condor, and Thomas Cook Airlines UK. In 2018 Avion Express will operate eighteen A320 family aircraft

Saudia will start operating on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018, its first direct flights to a new international seasonal destination, "Izmir" from Jeddah, with four flights per week. As of June 10th, three flights a week will be operated through King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, hence, daily flights will be operated from the Kingdom during the coming period. Saudia has completed all preparations for operating direct flights to Izmir, where it has been scheduled within its international network, as well as equipping the service platforms at Izmir International Airport with the necessary requirements of qualified personnel and modern equipment. The first flight (SV251) will depart King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah at 10:10 am on Wednesday morning to arrive at Izmir at 13:35 pm local time. The return flight will depart at (SV250) 15:05 Wednesday noon to arrive at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah at 18:30 pm KSA local time. These flights will operate with Airbus A320 aircraft with a seat capacity of 116 seats, 20 for business class and 96 for economy. Izmir is in fact the third destination of Saudia in Turkey after Istanbul and the capital Ankara. Being Turkey's third largest city with a population of more than 4 million, Izmir is located on Turkey's west coast on the Aegean Sea and has many tourist attractions destinations and is considered a gateway to other tourist towns such as Marmaris and Bodrum.

Unions want a resumption of talks and have asked the company to return to the negotiating table to find a way forward in a dispute where the two sides appear as far apart as ever. Multiple unions at the French airline have staged a series of one day strikes over the last few weeks as part of their campaign for higher wages. Unions want a 5.1 percent increase for 2018, but the airline offered 2 percent as part of an overall 7 percent four-year pay deal. Air France-KLM group chief executive Jean-Marc JeanMarc Janaillac called for consultation on the airline‘s offer, culminating in an electronic vote by all staff. The ballot last Friday ended in defeat, with just over 55 percent of electronic votes against the company offer. The airline rescinded the offer and Jean-Marc Janaillac resigned after saying earlier that it would be very difficult for him to stay on if the pay offer was rejected.

Emirates airline posts boost in annual profits to $762M DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- Emirates, the Middle East's largest airline, said Wednesday the long-haul carrier's revenue improved over the past fiscal year, reaching $25.2 billion, with profits rising to $762 million. The Dubai-based airline credited a recovery in the global air cargo industry and the strengthening of key currencies against the U.S. dollar for the boost. Emirates said in spite of political challenges impacting traveler demand and fare adjustments due to a competitive business environment, the decline of the U.S. dollar against currencies in most of Emirates' key markets had a $180 million "positive impact to the airline's bottom line." Emirates Airline and Group chairman and chief executive, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, said President Donald Trump's announcement to withdraw from a nuclear accord with Iran will not present too many new challenges for Emirates, which has flights to Tehran and other cities in Dubai's Persian Gulf neighbor. "I think this is not really new to us," he told reporters, explaining that the airline dealt with issues of sanctions on Iran in the past.

"I can say that we went through a lot of tough times in the past 30 years since the start of the airline and we will always manage," Al Maktoum added. Last year, the airline's profits fell by more than 80 percent from the previous year to $340 million as it grappled with a slump in demand linked to a range of headwinds, from political upheaval and terrorism in Europe to tougher travel restrictions to the U.S. Over the 2017-2018 fiscal year, Emirates announced two major purchases: A $15.1 billion agreement for 40 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners and a $16 billion deal to buy 20 A380 double-decker jets, with the option to buy 16 more of the Airbus jumbo jets. Al Maktoum cautioned, however, that business conditions remained tough. "We saw ongoing political instability, currency volatility and devaluations in Africa, rising oil prices which drove our costs up, and downward pressure on margins from relentless competition," he said in a statement. Al Maktoum is also chairman of budget carrier flydubai, which as a codeshare agreement with Emirates. While the two airlines operate independently, both are owned by the state-owned Investment Corporation of Dubai.

Southwest pilots used hand signals to communicate after deadly explosion The pilots of the Southwest Airlines jet that suffered a midair engine explosion had to use hand signals to communicate because of the deafening roar, they said in a new interview. The explosion, which happened near Philadelphia on a Dallasbound flight from LaGuardia Airport, led to part of the engine shattering a window and a passenger being partially sucked out of the plane. Jennifer Riordan, 43, a Wells Fargo banking executive from New Mexico, later died. Co-pilot Darren Ellisor recalled a chaotic scene where everything suddenly went wrong. ―We were passing through about 32,000 feet when we heard a large bang and a rapid decompression,‖ Ellisor says in the ABC ―20/20‖ clip. ―The aircraft yawed and banked to the left a little over 40 degrees and we had a very severe vibration from the number one engine. There was shaking, everything. And that all kinda happened all at once.‖ Pilot Tammie Jo Shults said the trouble reminded her of rough military flights. ―My first thoughts were actually, ‗Oh, here we go‘ — just because it seemed like a flashback to some of the Navy flying that we had done,‖ she said. And in the panic, the two aviators couldn‘t even hear each other as they tried to land the plane – a harrowing ordeal which took 22 minutes from the time the engine blew until they touched down in Philadelphia. ―Darren is just very easy to communicate with and we had to use hand signals because it was loud and it was just hard to communicate for a lot of different reasons,‖ Shults said.
