التقى الٌوم الثالثاء ،الدكتور مصطفى مدبولى رئٌس مجلس الوزراء ،وزٌر اإلسكان والمرافق والمجتمعات العمرانٌة ،الفرٌق ٌونس المصرى ،وزٌر الطٌران المدنى ،الذى عرض تقرٌراً حول الجهود الحالٌة والخطط المستقبلٌة ،لتطوٌر العمل فى قطاع النقل الجوى. وصرح المستشار نادر سعد ،المتحدث الرسمً باسم رئاسة مجلس الوزراء ،بأن رئٌس مجلس الوزراء أكد خالل االجتماع على أهمٌة استمرار الجهود المبذولة لتطوٌر العمل فً قطاع الطٌران المدنً ،واستكمال تنفٌذ المطارات الجدٌدة التً تمثل إضافة مهمة للمنظومة ،وإحداث التوازن فً عمل الشركة القابضة للمطارات والمالحة الجوٌة ،وادارتها بالصورة األمثل ،مع االهتمام برفع مستوى الخدمات المقدمة للركاب ،فً ضوء كون هذا القطاع ٌع ُد الواجهة األولى الستقبال وتودٌع زائري مصر من مختلف دول العالم. وأوضح المتحدث الرسمً ،أن وزٌر الطٌران المدنً ،أشار خالل االجتماع إلى ما تقوم به الوزارة خالل هذه المرحلة لمواجهة العدٌد من التحدٌات فً قطاع النقل الجوي ،ودفع العمل قدماُ ،واالرتقاء بالخدمات المقدمة للركاب ،حٌث أكد أنه منذ تولٌه منصبه قبل 3أشهر ،زار كل الشركات التابعة ،وقام بالمرور على كافة المطارات ،لمتابعة منظومة العمل بها ،والوقوف على مستوى الخدمات المقدمة للركاب ،حٌث تم اتخاذ بعض اإلجراءات العاجلة لرفع كفاءة تلك المطارات ،واستكمال األعمال المنفذة بالمطارات لجدٌدة تمهٌداً لبدء تشغٌلها ،إلى جانب إجراءات خاصة باستكمال تطوٌر المنظومة األمنٌة بمٌناء القاهرة الجوي وباقً المطارات األخرى ،وكذا تطوٌر األنظمة المالحٌة من خالل استخدام أحدث التقنٌات فً مجال المالحة الجوٌة. كما أشار الفرٌق ٌونس المصري ،وزٌر الطٌران المدنً ،إلى الخطة المتكاملة التً قامت الوزارة بتنفٌذها وساهمت فً موسم حج ناجح هذا العام ،وتضمنت تطوٌر أماكن اإلحرام وتزوٌدها بأجهزة التكٌٌف للتٌسٌر على الحجاج ،والدفع بعدد من المنسقٌن لتذلٌل كافة العقبات التً تواجه الحجاج ،فضالً عن إتباع خطوات لحل مشكلة تكدس الركاب داخل الصاالت ،حٌث تم زٌادة عدد المداخل بفتح جمٌع البوابات اإلضافٌة ،وتزوٌدها بعناصر الشرطة ،وكذا تم زٌادة "كاونترات" الجوازات ،وزٌادة منافذ كشف الحقائب باألشعة المقطعٌة ،لتصبح 3منافذ بدالً من منفذٌن ،كما تم إنشاء َ 2مخرج صالة خضراء للجمارك ،لتصبح عدد الصاالت الخضراء ()4 صاالت ،وذلك لتسهٌل حركة خروج القادمٌن.

These alliances help to streamline passenger journeys and open up more parts of the world. They generally bring strong partnerships and tie ins between member airlines. Qatar Chairman & CEO Akbar Al Baker claims that American Airlines has worked to lobby against Qatar Airways and other outside competition at the highest levels of the U.S. Government. At the same time, they‘ve been spending millions in slander campaigns against the airline and other Gulf carriers. For what it‘s worth, his take is entirely accurate in this regard and American, Delta and United even formed a lobbying group to thwart Qatar and other rival airlines. An entrepreneur was turned away at the gate of a Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) flight yesterday because he was inappropriately dressed - in shorts. Jordan Bishop, founder of corporate flights concierge Yore Oyster, explained in an article for Forbes that he was pulled out of the boarding queue by a Saudia staff member and told he would not be able to board the plane unless he covered up. Everything had gone smoothly until then, Bishop explained from arriving at Jakarta airport two hours before the 4pm flight to successfully checking-in and waiting in the Saudia lounge. However, as he queued at the gate, the agent gave him an 'awkward look' and called his manager, who told Bishop he could not board the flight to Istanbul via Riyadh. Bishop says he is a regular international traveler whose choice of attire has never before been questioned. The official Saudia Dress Code, published on its website, is reads: 'Saudia is requesting from their guests to abide by a dress code whereby they are clothed in a manner that is inline with public taste or not offensive to other passengers.' Saudia is the national airline of Saudi Arabia, which follows a conservative interpretation of Sunni Islam called Wahhabism.

International Air Transport Association (IATA), ERA (European Regions Airline Association) and Airlines for Europe (A4E) and their respective members are concerned about the proposal to abolish current DST changes switching from wintertime to summertime, and the timeline of the proposal, because of the significant impact on the aviation industry and consumers. The associations, in a joint statement led by IATA, therefore urge EU member states, the European Commission and the European Parliament, to consider the significant repercussions and disruption to passenger and freight connections when adopting their position. Should a change be agreed, it is essential that the aviation industry has 18 months minimum to prepare and process the changes, and ERA, IATA and A4E recommend that the earliest season the final clock change could take place is the start of the summer 2021 season. The statement explains that airline schedules and slot planning are based on the same periods as European summer/winter changes over the whole of Europe. The complexity of moving schedules for many airports due to a DST removal would be immense, and it is likely several flights or connections could not be accommodated at all, or at the preferred time, designed to meet the needs of the passenger, and build freight connections. Changes to existing DST arrangements will affect the ability of the airline industry to meet consumer and business needs at the busiest and most congested airports – this impact may be reduced where an appropriate lead time is introduced, but the impact will not be avoided.

However, should the decision be to finally abolish time changes, the airline community assesses, following a thorough analysis of the impact of the time change on each season, that the least impact would be felt if summertime is maintained as the permanent time. If the proposal is eventually agreed, it is vital that the change is synchronised across the 28 EU member states and the industry must have time to plan the changes to minimise disruption where possible. Without complete synchronisation of the final decision and timing to implement, the aviation industry will be left in chaos.

A series of planned network changes at JetBlue will see it shift fleet resources from what it considers underperforming cities and accelerate its focus-city growth strategy in Boston and Fort Lauderdale, the New York-based carrier announced Tuesday. The service reallocation will also result in a new JetBlue destination in Ecuador, new service between current JetBlue cities and more flights on popular routes. Plans call for the new daily Airbus A320 service from Fort Lauderdale to Guayaquil, Ecuador‘s José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport to start during next year‘s first quarter. Guayaquil becomes JetBlue‘s second destination in Ecuador—it began serving Quito in 2016—and its sixth in South America overall. The new flights between Fort Lauderdale and Guayaquil expand JetBlue‘s footprint outside the U.S., and marks part of a broader effort to reach into international markets. It now operates in 22 countries in Latin America, including a dozen island destinations in the Caribbean and various cities in Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Peru. Plans for this winter call for JetBlue to introduce routes between Boston and Rochester, New York; Fort Lauderdale and Phoenix; Fort Lauderdale and Saint Maarten; and Providence, Rhode Island, and Palm Beach, Florida.

Roughly two-thirds of the added flights will originate in Boston or Fort Lauderdale, it said. In Boston – in addition to new nonstop Rochester service – the airline plans to boost flights on nine existing routes. JetBlue expects to offer flights to more than 70 nonstop destinations from Boston and reach 200 daily departures at Boston Logan Airport ―in the coming years.‖ In Fort Lauderdale, the airline has committed to up to 140 daily departures and recently expanded its operation to new gates in Terminal 3 and began using Terminal 1 for additional international arrivals to help support future growth. Cities slated to lose service starting January 8 include Daytona Beach International Airport from New York JFK Airport and once daily service from San Juan to Saint Croix. JetBlue also plans to eliminate daily service to Washington Dulles Airport from New York JFK and Boston. Elsewhere on its route map, the airline plans to cut flying on a number of other underperforming routes and frequencies in January, including certain flights serving Baltimore, Detroit, Pittsburgh, and Santiago, in the Dominican Republic. In Mexico City, where JetBlue is launching new service from Boston and New York JFK, the airline will reduce twice daily service from both Fort Lauderdale and Orlando International Airport to once daily in the first quarter of 2019. Finally, at Portland International Jetport in Maine, JetBlue plans to cut its year-round daily service on January 7 and transition to daily summer seasonal service next spring.
