شهد مطار القاهرة الدولى ،الٌوم اإلثنٌن ،تؤخر إقالع 4رحالت جوٌة دولٌة بسبب سوء األحوال الجوٌة فوق مطارات الوصول لتلك الرحالت ،فضال عن ظروف التشغٌل لكل رحلة. وقالت مصادر مالحٌة بالمطار ،إن المطار شهد تؤخر إقالع رحلة الخطوط التركٌة رقم 691المتجهة لى إسطنبول، ورحلة خطوط لوفتهانزا رقم 8291المتجهة إلى مدٌنة فرانكفورت ،ورحلة الخطوط اإلثٌوبٌة رقم 453المتجهة إلى أدٌس أبابا ،ورحلة الخطوط الفرنسٌة رقم 567المتجهة إلى بارٌس.

أفواج المعتمرٌن تغادر مطار القاهرة ألداء العمرة كتب أحمد حمادة
غادر مطار القاهرة الدولى ،منذ قلٌل ،عددا من المعتمرٌن المصرٌٌن متوجهٌن إلى المملكة العربٌة السعودٌة ألداء مناسك العمرة. وقالت مصادر بمطار القاهرة ،أنه تم تخصٌص فرٌقا من العالقات العامة بشركة مٌناء القاهرة الجوى إلستقبال المعتمرٌن داخل الصاالت وإنهاء إجراءات سفرهم ،باإلضافة الً توفٌر عددا من الكراسى متحركة لخدمة كبار السن. والجدٌر بالذكر أن اللجنة العلٌا للحج والعمرة قررت فتح باب العمرة أمام الشركات فً ال 15من نوفمبر الماضً، وحددت سقف عددي للمعتمرٌن للموسم الجاري بـ 500ألف تؤشٌرة ٌتم تنفٌذ 400ألف تؤشٌرة قبل شهر رمضان ،و 100ألف تؤشٌرة خالل الشهر الكرٌم.

تولى وزٌر الطٌران الفرٌق ٌونس المصري ،مهام حقٌبة الطٌران فً الخمٌس ٌ 14ونٌو الماضً ،وكان القطاع ٌعانً وقتها من عدد من الملفات شائكة ،استطاع المصري حلها خالل أقل من عام النهوض بقطاع الطٌران المدنً الذي ٌعد من أهم أعمدة االقتصاد المصري. وتصدى وزٌر الطٌران الجدٌد للعوائق داخل ملف الطٌران ،وتمكن من التغلب على أبرز الملفات الشائكة أمامه وتم حلها. أولوٌات الوزٌر ومن أبرز أولوٌات الفرٌق ٌونس المصري ،االهتمام بالراكب باعتباره المورد المالً الرئٌسً لقطاع للطٌران المدنً، وكان الهدف توفٌر سبل الراحة ورفع كفاءة الخدمات المقدمة ،وتم تحقٌق نتائج ملموسة فً هذا الصدد. كما تم إعادة ترتٌب قطاع الطٌران المدنً من الداخل من خالل إعانة الهٌكلة وتنظٌم الشركات التابعة ،وتم اتخاذ إجراءات عاجلة لتنفٌذ المطالب الهامة ،وأكد الوزٌر إنه مستمر فً إعادة الهٌكلة التً ستتم فً المرحلة القادمة بؤسلوب علمً من خالل االستعانة بالخبراء والمتخصصٌن فً كافة المجاالت من أجل ضمان الخروج بنتائج لتحقٌق األهداف المستقبلٌة. وأكد المصري أن منهج الوزارة سٌظل ٌهدف إلى تحقٌق أعلً الموارد ورفع معدالت التنمٌة االقتصادٌة وترشٌد النفقات بما ٌصب فً صالح منظومة الطٌران المدنً. تطوٌر المطارات وشدد على حرصه علً االهتمام بالعنصر البشري ضمن أولوٌات ،وتم وتقلٌص فوارق األجور بٌن جمٌع العاملٌن وفقا لعدة معاٌٌر وآلٌات محددة ،وتم وضعها مراعاة للبعد االجتماعً لجمٌع الفئات فً الوزارة والهٌئات التابعة مشٌرا إلى أن الوزارة فً طرٌق تفعٌل منظومة التؤمٌن الطبً. واالهتمام بالرعاٌا الطبٌة لجمٌع العاملٌن وأسرهم، ً وبخصوص أعمال تطوٌر المطارات ،العصب األساسً لوزارة الطٌران المدنً ،فقد شهد عدد من المطارات طفرات ملحوظة بدءا من الفرد مرورا بالمنشآت ورفع مستوى الخدمات المقدمة للركاب ،كما تم تشكٌل لجنة للتفتٌش على كافة المطارات والتً تقدم تقرٌر دوري بالمالحظات التً ٌتم رصدها بالمطارات لٌتم دراستها وعالجها ،وتم اتخاذ بعض اإلجراءات العاجلة لرفع كفاءة المطارات المختلفة.

2 مطار القاهرة ففً مطار القاهرة ،تم حل مشكلة التكدس والزحام بالمطار فً فترات الذروة الصباحٌة والمسائٌة والتً قطعت وزارة الطٌران المدنً فٌها خطوات مهمة خالل الفترة الماضٌة بالتنسٌق مع وزارة الداخلٌة بدءا من زٌادة عداد أفراد األمن الخارجً والسٌطرة على حركة السٌارات وإلغاء االنتظار أمام مبنى الركاب رقم 3من خالل تنفٌذ التوسعة لكامل ساحات االنتظار وتحدٌد محاور التحرك الستٌعاب كافة الكثافات المرورٌة أمام صاالت السفر والوصول. وبالنسبة لموسم الحج ،فقد تم تقدٌم كافة سبل الراحة لحجاج بٌت هللا الحرام وذوٌهم فقد تم تخصٌص خٌمة مكٌفة أمام صالة السفر والوصول بمبنى الرحالت الموسمٌة ،فضال عن زٌادة مقاعد االنتظار أمام الصالة لراحة المستقبلٌن. وٌشهد مطار القاهرة حال ًٌا العدٌد من أعمال التطوٌر تماش ًٌا مع سٌاسة الدولة لتحوٌله إلى مطار محوري منها مشروع تطوٌر مبنى الركاب رقم ( )1صالة ( ،)1وتحدٌث منظومة السٌور بمبنى الركاب رقم ( )3وتحسٌن منطقة الترانزٌت، وتشغٌل المول التجاري لٌصبح صالة مستقبلٌن لصالة الوصول رقم ( ،)3إعادة دراسة منطقة المهبط بجوار قرٌة البضائع وإعادة دراسة مسارات الطرق الخارجٌة والالفتات اإلرشادٌة ،ربط مبنى الركاب رقم ( )2بالجراج المتعدد الطوابق. مطار برج العرب وفً مطار برج العرب باإلسكندرٌة ،شهدت الفترة األخٌرة أعمال تطوٌر شملت إنشاء أول مبنى صدٌق للبٌئة بمصر المقرر بالتعاون مع الوكالة الٌابانٌة جاٌكا ،لتصل الطاقة االستٌعابٌة اإلجمالٌة للمطار إلى ستة مالٌٌن راكب سنوٌا، كما أنه سٌتم تزوٌده باألنظمة الفنٌة والتكنولوجٌة والتً ستكون على أحدث التقنٌات فً مجال المطارات على مستوى العالم ،فضال عن كونه أهم المطارات اإلقلٌمٌة المصرٌة لموقعه الجغرافً المتمٌز على البحر المتوسط. مطار شرم الشٌخ وشملت أعمال التطوٌر مطار شرم الشٌخ ،حٌث أنه جارى االنتهاء من مشروع توسعة مبنى الركاب رقم 2لزٌادة الطاقة االستٌعابٌة الكلٌة للمطار من 7مالٌٌن راكب إلى 9مالٌٌن راكب سنو ًٌا قبل نهاٌة العام الحالً ،كما تم رفع كفاءة طرٌق الخدمة ،باإلضافة إلى االنتهاء من أعمال التسوٌة لألراضً الرملٌة حول المبانً. وفً طور سٌناء تم تطوٌر البنٌة التحتٌة وكذا األعمال اإلنشائٌة والمرافق المحٌطة بالمطار هناك ،من خالل عدة مراحل مع وضع خطط واضحة للتنفٌذ فى أسرع وقت واستكمال جمٌع أعمال التؤمٌن داخل وخارج المطار وكذا المنشآت واألفراد.

3 مطارات الصعٌد وفً الوجه القبلً ،تم االنتهاء من أعمال التسوٌة بمطار أسٌوط ،وإزالة المبانً غٌر المستخدمة ،باإلضافة إلى دراسة توسٌع مبنى الركاب القدٌم ورفع كفاءته ،وزٌادة المساحات المخصصة للحجاج. وفً مطار سوهاج ،فقد تم االنتهاء من أعمال التسوٌة وإنشاء أماكن مخصصة لمستقبلً الركاب وإنشاء أبراج أمنٌة متقاربة على جمٌع أسوار المطار ،باإلضافة إلى تنمٌط قاعات االنتظار وصاالت السفر والوصول. وحصل مطار األقصر ،والذي ٌعد أحد أهم المطارات السٌاحٌة فً مصر ،هذا العام على المركز األول فً فئته بقارة أفرٌقٌا فً تطبٌق قواعد السالمة الجوٌة لعام ،2018وذلك وف ًقا لما أعلنه المجلس العالمً للمطارات (ACI). مطار بورسعٌد كما تم البدء فً أعمال التطوٌر ورفع كفاءة مطار بورسعٌد على عدة مراحل ،حٌث تم االنتهاء من تنفٌذ أعمال التسوٌة لجمٌع األماكن ،على أن تكون المرحلة الثانٌة هً إنشاء صالتً سفر ووصول تلٌق بمحافظة بورسعٌد الباسلة ،باإلضافة إلى إنشاء بوابات حضارٌة ،أما المرحلة الثالثة فتكون بإنشاء أسوار المطار.

1 Kenya to improve aviation infrastructure to boost economy - Uhuru President Uhuru Kenyatta has affirmed Kenya’s commitment to improving civil aviation infrastructure, saying the industry plays a vital role in economic growth and national development. The President said air transport, together with support services, contributed 0.4 per cent to Kenya’s GDP, translating to a turnover of $232.79 million (Sh23.85 billion) last year. He spoke on Monday when he presided over the opening of the 11th forum of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Air Services Negotiation meeting at KICC, Nairobi. Uhuru said JKIA creates more than 17,000 jobs for Kenyans directly and an additional 600,000 indirectly, making it the nerve centre of the national economy. ―On the whole spectrum, our airports handled over 10.1 million passengers and over 290,000 tonnes of international cargo in 2017, an increase of 3.5 per cent compared to the previous year. This positive growth has been as a result of sound and resilient management and investment,‖ he said. Uhuru said about 80 per cent of tourists visiting Kenya use air transport, which is also the easiest and fastest means to transport perishable produce across the globe, such as horticulture produce and fresh flowers. ―It is for these reasons that my government is committed to investing in suitable aviation infrastructure to enable the sector play its critical role in boosting the growth of our economy,‖ the President said. Uhuru said Kenya acceded to the Convention on International Civil Aviation in 1964 and the country will continue being an active member of the ICAO. ―It is in this context that my government has taken steps to improve civil aviation-related infrastructure, safety oversight and security,‖ he said. 2 With the attainment of Category 1 status, the national carrier Kenya Airways can now fly directly to John F Kennedy International Airport. The inaugural direct flight took place on October 28. Uhuru said Kenya has significantly increased its levels of implementation on ICAO safety and security standards. This is evidenced by Kenya’s good performance in recent audits under the Continuous Monitoring Approach mechanism, where they stood at 78.15 and 89 per cent respectively, the President said. ―This places Kenya among the top quarter states globally and among the top five in Africa in ensuring compliance with ICAO standards and recommended practices in safety oversight and aviation security,‖ Uhuru said. Regionally, Uhuru said Kenya continues to play her role in the formulation and implementation of initiatives adopted for the safe, secure and sustainable civil aviation system throughout the African continent. He emphasised that these initiatives are aimed at improving air connectivity, reducing the cost of air transport and ensuring the sustainable development of transport in Africa that will further improve service delivery. The President also said international regulatory frameworks have helped in containing aviation incidents to sustain the confidence of the public in travelling by airlines and expressed the need to enhance cross-industry and multi-stakeholder dialogues. ―Indeed, with the number of air travellers projected to double in the next two decades, collaboration among stakeholders becomes even more critical to tackling new and shared vulnerabilities,‖ he said. Other speakers at the event included Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia and the President of ICAO Council Olumuyiwa Bernard Aliu.

KCAA set to host International Aviation Negotiation conference More than 800 delegates representing airlines, transport ministries and civil aviation authorities across the globe will gather for the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Air Services negotiation conference that provides a platform for them to seek bilateral agreements to fly into each other’s territory. During the five-day event, there will be several side sessions that will discuss issues around aviation economics, a statement issued in Nairobi by KCAA announced. Since its inception, the number of countries that utilizes this facility has steadily increased. So far more than 142 states have participated in and benefited, at least once, from the ICAO process. The conference will offer industry stakeholders opportunities for business-tobusiness meetings and networking with other business stakeholders or community members, but also aviation regulators and air service negotiators participating in the forum.

1 Peak season bumps up air freight demand Dive Brief: Air freight demand grew at its fastest pace since May 2018, with freight ton kilometers (FTKs) rising 3.1% in October, according to data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Capacity also ticked up at its highest growth rate since May, at a rate of 5.4%, compared to September's 3.2% growth in available freight ton kilometers (AFTKs). "Freight capacity has now risen at an annualized rate of 6% over the past six months — around two percentage points faster than demand," IATA said in its analysis.

2 Dive Insight: The fourth quarter of the year is traditionally a busy time for cargo operations, and IATA's October data shows 2018 is no different. Growing e-commerce volumes continue to boost air freight demand, offsetting other factors affecting the industry, such as softening consumer confidence and contraction in exports. "We must be conscious of the economic headwinds, but the industry looks set to bring the year to a close on a positive note," said Alexandre de Juniac, IATA's Director General and CEO, in a press release. North American airlines grew at the fastest pace of any region in October 2018, with demand rising 6.6% YoY. IATA attributed the region's growth to a strong U.S. economy and consumer spending, despite consumer confidence waning since the beginning of the year. Capacity in the North American market increased as well at a rate of 8.2%. All regions saw capacity grow at a faster rate than demand. Despite the increase in supply, air freight rates reached their highest level of the year in October and are expected to continue climbing into peak season, according to Air Cargo News. Average rates on 57 major routes reached $3.02 per kilogram in October, compared to $2.81 the month before.

1 Freight demand continues modest growth
The latest data has shown that global freight demand grew again in October but capacity still outstrips demand. According to International Air Transport Association (IATA) analysis, demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), rose 3.1% in October 2018, compared to the same period the year before. This pace of growth was up from a 29-month low of 2.5% in September. Freight capacity, measured in available freight tonne kilometers (AFTKs), rose by 5.4% year-on-year in October 2018. This was the eighth month in a row that capacity growth outstripped demand. Growing international e-commerce and an upturn in the global investment cycle are supporting the growth. However, demand continues to be negatively impacted by a contraction in export order books in all major exporting nations in October, longer supplier delivery times in Asia and Europe; and weakened consumer confidence compared to very high levels at the beginning of 2018. ―Cargo is a tough business, but we can be cautiously optimistic as we approach the end of 2018. Slow but steady growth continues despite trade tensions,‖ said Alexandre de Juniac, IATA's Director General and CEO. ―The growth of e-commerce is more than making up for sluggishness in more traditional markets. 2 Breakdown, by region: Asia-Pacific airlines saw demand for air freight grow by 1.9% in October 2018, compared to the same period last year. Capacity increased by 4.2%. North American airlines posted the fastest growth of any region in October 2018, with an increase in demand of 6.6% compared to the same period a year earlier. Capacity increased by 8.2% over the same period. European airlines experienced a 1.4% increase in freight demand in October 2018 compared to the same period a year earlier. Capacity increased by 1.9% year-on-year. Middle Eastern airlines’ freight volumes expanded 5.0% in October 2018 compared to the same period a year earlier. Capacity increased by 8.8% over the same period. Latin American airlines’ freight demand rose 0.3% in October 2018 compared to the same period last year and capacity increased by 3.3%. International demand slipped by 0.9%, marking the first contraction in 11 months. African carriers saw freight demand decrease by 4.2% in October 2018, compared to the same month last year. This was the seventh time in eight months that demand shrank. Capacity increased by 5.4% year-on-year.

Sharjah Airport to implement new baggage rules
Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) started to implement new baggage rules at Sharjah Airport. The new rules, which will include luggage specifications, will boost operational performance, reduce improper baggage handling and enhance the airport’s competitiveness in the region. SAA notified the representatives of all airlines operating at Sharjah Airport about the new policy, and informed them that the airport will not receive or handle any baggage that does not comply with its new policy. SAA will post information about the new rules on its official website. As per the new baggage policy, the Airport will not accept bags that might disrupt the systems. Bags should be 75 cm high, 60 cm wide and 90 cm long with at least one level surface. Non-compliant baggage, such as two items wrapped together, will not be accepted at the arrival point, either directly or through Sharjah Aviation Services. Baggage that exceeds these specifications can be taken to the desk for oversized baggage. It will be processed based on the airline’s weight allowance and on prior arrangements with Sharjah Aviation Services. through the airport in real time.

Sharjah Airport is handling a growing number of bags, with a comparison between the number of bags handled in the first halves of 2017 and 2018 showing an increase of over 5%. 1 Ethiopian Airlines wins bid for the new home-based carrier in Ghana
Ethiopian Airlines has been selected as the strategic partner for the proposed new home-based carrier At exactly 6pm Ethiopian Time on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU( was signed at ET’s headquarters to signify government’s undertaking to work with ET in establishing a new home-based flag carrier, as revealed by aviationghana. Minister of Aviation, Joseph Kofi Adda, signed this MOU on behalf of the Government of Ghana while Tewolde GebreMariam, Ethiopia’s Chief Executive Officer signed the MoU on behalf of the airline. A final agreement is expected to be signed before Christmas. The airline is also expected to start flying early next year. The desire to establish a new home-based carrier after the collapse of Ghana Airways—a fully state-owned entity—and the subsequent collapse of Ghana International Airlines, established with private sector participation after the collapse of Ghana Airways, stems from growth in the sector experienced on the continent and the industry’s future potential. 2 Tewolde GebreMariam, Ethiopia’s Chief Executive Officer, told AviationGhana on the sidelines of the Routes Africa Conference held in Accra in June that: ―Yes, we have submitted our proposal and held discussions. [If we are chosen] we will operate domestic flights in addition to regional flights.‖ Analysts believe that the commitment by Ethiopian Airlines to operate domestic flights was very instrumental in their selection as strategic partners. Structure of new airline Minister of Aviation, Joseph Kofi Adda has said that government will not take up more than 10 percent in the yet-to-be established new national air carrier – emphasising that government is being careful not to repeat mistakes of the past. ―What we are looking at is not more than 10 percent shares [in the new airline], and that is the extent to which government will be involved.
