تسير شركة مصر للطيران ،اليوم األربعاء ،رحالتها إلى 21وجهة دولية لنقل ما يقرب من 2000راكب وذلك بعد عودة حركة الطيران بالمطارات المصرية ،مع االلتزام بتطبيق اإلجراءات االحترازية المشددة سواء داخل المطار أو على متن الطائرات للوقاية من انتشار فيروس كورونا المستجد والحفاظ على صحة وسالمة المسافرين. وقالت مصادر بشركة مصر للطيران ،إن الشركة ستسير رحالتها اليوم ،بمعدل رحلة واحدة إلى كل من (امستردام ،باريس ،روما ،لندن ،ميالنو ،اسطنبول ،الخرطوم ،الشارقة ،بيروت، نيويورك ،بغداد) ورحلتين جويتين إلى (دبي وأبو ظبي) ،ورحلة استثنائية إلى كل من (مومباي والمدينة المنورة وعمان) ،باإلضافة إلى رحلتين داخليتين إلى (شرم الشيخ) ورحلة داخلية الي (الغردقة) و رحالت الشحن الجوي تنقل جميع هذه الرحالت ما يقرب من 2000 راكب. من جانبها اتخذت سلطات مطار القاهرة الدولي جميع اإلجراءات االحترازية المتبعة لمواجهة تفشي فيروس كورونا ،حيث تم االلتزام بتطبيق كافة اإلجراءات االحترازية والوقائية وفقا ً لتعليمات منظمة الصحة العالمية ووزارة الصحة لضمان سالمة المسافرين والوافدين ،من خالل تخفيف التكدس ،وخاصة في أماكن الكاونترات والجوازات ،وأماكن التفتيش األولى لدخول الركاب والمصاعد الكهربائية داخل المطار. االدارة العامة للعالقات العامة والمراسم قطاع االمانة العامة بالشركة القابضة لمصر للطيران

«الطيران» :مطارا شرم الشيخ والغردقة استقبال 68ألف سائح منذ عودة الحركة دعاء محمود
شهد مطارا شرم الشيخ والغردقة توافد العديد من الرحالت السياحية القادمة من بعض الدول األوروبية لكل من المدينتين ذات األهمية السياحية الكبرى منذ بداية عودة الحركة السياحية الدولية إلى مصر اعتبارا من أول يوليو وحتى اليوم. وأفاد بيان صادر عن وزارة الطيران ،أن مطار شرم الشيخ الدولى استقبل خالل تلك الفترة 194رحلة على متنها 38ألف سائح من كل من بيالروسيا وأوكرانيا. كما شهد مطار الغردقة وصول 164رحلة على متنها 30ألف سائح من عدة دول منها سويسرا وبيالروسيا وأوكرانيا والمجر وصربيا. يأتى ذلك في إطار الجهود المشتركة بين وزارتي الطيران المدنى والسياحة واآلثار لتنشيط الحركة الجوية والسياحية الوافدة إلى مصر وخاصة مناطق الجذب السياحى واالرتقاء بكافة الخدمات المقدمة للعمالء والمسافرين. ووجه الطيار محمد منار وزير الطيران المدنى ،بتقديم كافة التسهيالت الالزمة إلنهاء إجراءات الوصول فى أسرع وقت منعا ً للتكدس وتوفير كافة سبل الراحة وتذليل الصعوبات أمام السائحين من خالل تشكيل فرق من العالقات العامة والتنسيق والتعاون مع كافة الجهات العاملة داخل المطارات لحسن استقبال الركاب القادمين. باإلضافة إلى االلتزام بتطبيق كافة اإلجراءات االحترازية والوقائية وفقا ً لتعليمات منظمة الصحة العالمية ووزارة الصحة والسكان لضمان سالمة المسافرين والوافدين إلى مصر. االدارة العامة للعالقات العامة والمراسم قطاع االمانة العامة بالشركة القابضة لمصر للطيران

بسبب كورونا ..الصين تعلق رحالت مجموعة من شركات الطيران
قالت هيئة تنظيم الطيران في الصين إنها ستعلق رحالت كل من شركة االتحاد للطيران على خطها بين أبوظبي وشنغهاي وشركة خطوط شرق الصين الجوية على خط مانيال شنغهاي. وأضافت إدارة الطيران المدني الصينية ،اليوم األربعاء ،أن ذلك سيستمر لمدة أسبوع ابتداء من 17أغسطس ،بسبب ظهور حاالت إصابة بفيروس كورونا. وأوضحت اإلدارة في بيان لها أن الخطوط الجوية السريالنكية ستوقف تشغيل خطها بين كولومبو وشنغهاي لمدة 4أسابيع اعتبارا من 17أغسطس ،أيضا بسبب ارتفاع عدد حاالت اإلصابة بكورونا بين الركاب القادمين. وبلغ إجمالي المصابين بكورونا في الصين 737 84شخصا ،شفي منهم 342 79 ،وتوفي 634 4شخصا. االدارة العامة للعالقات العامة والمراسم قطاع االمانة العامة بالشركة القابضة لمصر للطيران

5ابتكارات جديدة داخل الطائرات للوقاية من كورونا ..هتغير شكل السفر كتبت -نورا طارق
فرض فيروس كورونا المستجد ،بعض اإلجراءات الجديدة على رحالت الطيران والتى منها تعقيم األماكن وإلزام الموظفين والمسافرين بارتداء أقنعة الوجه ،كما يتوقع بعض خبراء السفر أن تقوم شركات الطيران بتوظيف عمال نظافة على متن الطائرة ،مع إضافة بعض التصاميم الجديدة داخل الطائرة التى تساعد على التباعد االجتماعى فى المستقبل ،وفقا ً لما ذكره تقرير منشور بموقع " insider ". مقاعد بدورين داخل الطائرة ابتكر المصمم جيفري أونيل مقعد ،Zephyrوهو مصمم من طابقين ،بحيث يسمح للمسافرين في الدرجة االقتصادية باالستلقاء بشكل مسطح ،مع الحفاظ على التباعد االجتماعي ،وتحقيق المزيد من الخصوصية والمساحة دون أن تضطر شركات الطيران إلى التنازل عن أعداد الركاب. ووف ًقا لشبكة " "CNNاإلخبارية ،سيتعين على أونيل اختبار سالمة المقعد ،قبل تعميمه على الطائرات ،األمر الذي قد يستغرق ما يصل إلى ثالث سنوات. تابع

مشاركة البضائع الركاب داخل الطائرة توصلت شركة هندسة الطائرات" "Haecoإلى طريقة إللزام المسافرين بالتباعد االجتماعى ،وتقليل أعداد الركاب من خالل الحد من أعداد المسافرين على متن الطائرة ،ولكن ً أمواال من عائدات التذاكر المفقودة ،ولذلك اقترحت دون أن تكلف شركات الطيران بالضرورة الشركة خلط الركاب والبضائع في مقصورة الطائرة من خالل إنشاء أجهزة تسمح بالتخزين اآلمن للطرود بين صفوف الركاب ،مع الحفاظ على الوزن المناسب داخل الطائرة.

تعليق" إير شيلد" بسقف الطائرة أطلقت شركة تيج اختراع باسم" إير شيلد " ،وهو عبارة عن جهاز يتم وضعه على الفتحات الموجودة فوق المقاعد ،والذى يساعد على إبطاء انتشار الفيروسات داخل الطائرة ،ويعد الجهاز من تصميم ويدفع أنفاس الركاب إلى أسفل إلبطاء انتشار الفيروسات من خالل إبقاء رذاذ السعال على المقاعد وعدم انتشارها بين الركاب.

British Airways pushes ahead with 12,000 job cuts
As it pushes ahead with a plan to cut staff numbers by 29% up to 12,000 job roles out of 42,000 - British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) has started sending letters to thousands of employees telling them they have been made redundant, despite intense opposition from unions. With a selection process now completed, staff will learn whether they still have a job or not - and if they do, they will be told whether they will be required to accept a new contract or stay on their old one, according to Reuters and the Associated Press. Around 6,000 staff have volunteered for redundancy, the IAG International Airlines Group-owned flag carrier claimed in a statement on August 7. “Our half year results, published last week, clearly show the enormous financial impact of covid-19 on our business. We are having to make difficult decisions and take every possible action now to protect as many jobs as possible,” it said.

Of the 6,000 workers who have opted for voluntary redundancy, around 4,500 are cabin crew based at London Heathrow and London Gatwick, the airline added. The BBC reported that many older cabin crew with longer periods working at British Airways felt compelled to accept voluntary redundancy. One of them, employed at BA for 23 years, had been told, in her words: 'If you do not take the offer, you will go into the fire-and-rehire phase.' "But if we are not hired, we will get only statutory redundancy," she protested. Cabin crew union Unite accused the airline of “industrial thuggery” and said it was working with “over 200” members of parliament who “are questioning BA's right to lucrative slots.” It also reiterated that it would continue to fight against pay cuts for existing staff. BA is currently operating less than 20% of its expected schedule and is burning through GBP20 million pounds (USD26 million) a day, the airline said. As previously reported, the British Air Line Pilots' Association (BALPA) said in a statement on July 31 that its members had overwhelmingly approved a new collective labour agreement with British Airways, which foresees the elimination of 270 pilot jobs and "temporary 20% pay cuts reducing to 8% over two years and towards zero over the longer term."

South Africa's Comair secures $2.2mn in shortterm financing
Comair (South Africa) (MN, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) has raised shortterm financing to tide the firm through the coming weeks wherein its business rescue practitioners will carry out a due diligence on two offers that prospective investors have submitted. According to internal communcations seen by South Africa's Travel News, Comair chief executive Wrenelle Stander told staff that the ZAR40 million rand (USD2.27 million) shortterm bridge loan would allow Comair, which operates a British Airways franchise and the Kulula Air low-cost brand, to meet its operational overheads and allow its business rescue process to continue.

BRPs Shaun Collyer and Richard Ferguson are due to conclude their reviews of the two offers which were submitted on July 22 (non-binding and with several material conditions to be satisfied prior to such offer being of a binding nature) and July 23 (a binding offer but which also contains several material conditions to be satisfied) respectively. Given the time needed to assess the offers and determine whether Comair and the BRPs can fulfill each offer's conditions, let alone determine the willingness of Comair's financiers to work with the consortia, the BRPs asked for, and were granted, an extension to August 28 for the publication of Comair's business rescue plan. "The Practitioners are in the process of considering these latter two offers in order to understand if the parties will be able to fulfill the conditions contemplated in these offers, and if any one of these latter two offers provides a sustainable remedy to the Company's financial distress," the BRPs said in a stock market filing dated July 28. SAS tweaks $1.6bn rescue plan, more bondholders agree
SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) has reached agreement "with certain major holders" of its debt after revising the conversion terms for part of the rescue plan it is negotiating with the governments of Sweden and Denmark, its main shareholders, it said in a statement on August 7. As previously reported, SAS admitted on July 10 that it had cancelled meetings on the proposed conversions of a bond and hybrid notes into shares, a key part of its planned SEK14.25 billion kronor (USD1.63 billion) recapitalisation plan, as not enough debt holders supported the terms. Now, however, with the conversion terms revised, it has "reached an agreement in principle" with holders of 51% of the hybrid notes and 40% of the bondholders

“Discussions are currently ongoing with the governments of Sweden and Denmark as regards the revised recapitalisation plan,” the airline said in a statement, adding that it would announce further information about the plan and a timetable for its implementation “as soon as possible.” In the meantime, a note holders’ committee has strongly encouraged all debt holders to vote in favour of the proposals at an upcoming meeting, it elaborated. The revised terms concern the conversion of SEK1.5 billion (USD171 million) worth of existing hybrid notes into common shares, and an option for holders of a SEK2.25 billion (USD257 million) bond due in November 2022 to convert their holdings either into new hybrid notes or into new shares, SAS said. The terms also include a rise in the interest rate on SEK6 billion (USD686 million) of state hybrid notes that SAS will issue to the Swedish and Danish governments. Also on August 7, SAS released its traffic figures for July, saying that demand remained "limited", with a "slow recovery" for domestic flights while demand for intercontinental and European travel remained weak. SAS capacity was down 76% on July 2019, total passenger numbers were down 75%.

Since they burst onto the aviation scene a generation ago, the big Gulf airlines have never shied away from splashing the cash. Glitzy, extravagant, and gaudy, Emirates, Qatar, and Etihad have made their mark on the aviation industry. With fleets of new planes, extensive networks, and frequent schedules, the Gulf airlines have thrown capacity and cash into the aviation market to secure a large slice of it. It was always a high-risk strategy that was showing some serious flaws before COVID-19 arrived. But 2020 threatened to seriously derail the three Gulf carriers. Saddled with debt, carrying large capital hungry fleets, and reliant on long-haul flying, their business models were threatened more seriously than ever before. But Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar are still in the air, still throwing capacity onto routes, still trying to dominate markets. As 2020 unfolds, how are these three airlines going?

State of play for the three Gulf airlines Etihad reported a strong start to 2020 before COVID-19 heavily impacted its performance. The airline carried 3.5 million passengers in the first six months of 2020, compared to 8.2 million in the first six months of 2019, a reduction of 58%. The average load factor in the first six months of 2020 was 71%. Operating loss for this period increased to US$758 million, compared to a loss of US$586 million in the first six months of 2019. This loss was driven by a 38% drop in revenues, which stood at US$1.7 billion in the first six months of 2020, compared to US$2.7 billion in the corresponding period last year. Regional neighbor Emirates began the year with a similar spring in its step. COVID-19 also sideswiped the Dubai-based airline. Unlike perennial poor financial performer Etihad, Emirates managed to produce its 32nd profit in a row over their 2019/20 financial year (ending March 31). But Emirates President Tim Clark admits the short term outlook is not good. The airline notes that even before COVID-19, the industry was vulnerable to a multitude of external factors.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s financial year concurs with the calendar year, so we won’t see the financial impact of COVID-19 on Qatar Airways until 2021. But the airline’s CEO, Akbar Al Baker, is resolutely upbeat. This is despite the ongoing blockade and the grounding of the A380 fleet. Qatar Airways has carried over two million passengers since the arrival of COVID-19, in the process becoming the world’s largest international airline – temporarily at least. The airlines keep flying All three airlines have kept flying throughout 2020, Qatar Airways the most aggressively so. Emirates has never been far away, riding the tailwinds. Operationally wise, Etihad has been the most subdued of the three airlines. No doubt, its continuing financial losses are a factor there. Perhaps there’s a cultural difference? Or just sheer stubbornness? But while airlines worldwide are minimizing their international flying, the three Gulf carriers have made a name for themselves by staying in the air.

Maybe the almost endless pits of money behind the state-owned airlines are driving this. No doubt it is easier to burn money when you don’t have to face off against angry shareholders. Which airline will bounce back the quickest? Who will bounce back the first? Perhaps the best way to look at that is to ask who will come out of 2020 the worst and work back from there. Of the three airlines, Etihad is in the most trouble. Emirates would sit as the middle performer. It’s a good airline that always manages a profit, but it is big, cumbersome, and bleeding cash. It won’t go broke, but COVID-19 will prove a long-running wound. Perhaps the best positioned of the three airlines is Qatar Airways. It’s adaptable, resilient, and small enough to be reasonably agile. But none of the Gulf airlines will come out of 2020 sitting pretty. It will be a long hard road back to the glory days for them.
