مصر للطٌران تستقبل أعضاء البرلمان العائدٌن من احتفالٌة شرم الشٌخ
محروس هنداوى -مإمن التهامى -محمد سٌد استقبل ظهر الٌوم الثالثاء ،الطٌار شرٌف عزت ،رئٌس مجلس إدارة شركة مصر للطٌران للخطوط الجوٌة ،ورضا متولً ،رئٌس شركة مصر للطٌران للسٌاحة واألسواق الحرة ،ولفٌف من قٌادات الشركة ،عددا كبٌرا من أعضاء مجلس النواب المشاركٌن فً احتفالٌة المجلس بمناسبة مرور 150عاما على إنشائه ،وذلك بعد عودتهم على متن رحلة الشركة القادمة من شرم الشٌخ ،والتً وصلت إلى مطار القاهرة الدولى فً تمام الساعة 1:50ظهرا.
ورحب موظفو العالقات العامة ورجال المحطة بمصر للطٌران ،بالنواب وتقدٌم الورود والهداٌا لهم وإنهاء كافة إجراءات الوصول لهم. ومن جانبهم عبر النواب عن شكرهم وتقدٌرهم للشركة الوطنٌة مصر للطٌران ومطاري القاهرة وشرم الشٌخ على ما قدموه من خدمات على أعلى مستوى وتسهٌالت لضٌوف االحتفالٌة كونها الناقل الرسمً لها ،وأشادوا بجناح مصر للطٌران المقام داخل مقر االحتفالٌة والذي قدمت فٌه الشركة أحدث عروضها وخدماتها لكافة العمالء ،كما أنه كان حلقة وصل مع ضٌوف المإتمر إلجراء أي تعدٌالت خاصة بسفرهم بسهولة وٌسر. وتوجه أمٌن عام مجلس النواب األفرٌقً خالل كلمته أمس بشكره لمصر للطٌران على دورها كناقل رسمً لالحتفالٌة وما قدمته من تسهٌالت وخدمات من أجل تٌسٌر رحلتهم إلى مقر االحتفالٌة بمدٌنة شرم الشٌخ. جدٌر بالذكر أن مصر للطٌران كانت قد أقامت جسرا جوٌا لنقل ضٌوف البرلمان المصري واألفرٌقً حٌث سٌرت 1٨3رحلة جوٌة منتظمة وإضافٌة وخاصة من وإلى شرم الشٌخ فً هذا الشؤن.

رئٌس "مصر للطٌران" لـ"الوطن" :تحرٌك وضبط أسعار التذاكر حال تعوٌم الجنٌه
كتب :عبده أبوغنيمة قال الطٌار شرٌف عزت رئٌس شركة مصر للطٌران للخطوط الجوٌة ،إنه سٌتم تحرٌك وضبط أسعار تذاكر الشركة ،حال تعوٌم الجنٌه ،ووف ًقا لمقدار التغٌر فً سعر الدوالر مقابل الجنٌه. وأضاف عزت ،فً تصرٌحات خاصة لـ"الوطن" ،أن زٌادة أسعار تذاكر شركة مصر للطٌرانٌ ،تطلب موافقات حكومٌة ،كونها إحدى شركات وزارة الطٌران المدنً ،منوهًا إلى أنه من غٌر المقبول ،أن تظل أسعار تذاكر الطٌران الخاصة بالشركة ثابتة ،فً الوقت الذي تزٌد فٌه أسعار كافة تكالٌف االنتاج. وأوضح رئٌس شركة مصر للطٌران ،أن الشركة ،تحملت خسائر كبٌرة خالل الفترة لماضٌة ،نتٌجة وجود فروق فً سعر صرف العملة ما بٌن البنك المركزي والسوق السوداء ،خاصة أن تحدٌد سعر التذاكرٌ ،تم وف ًقا للسعر الرسمً للعمالت األجنبٌة بالبنك المركزي ،ولٌس للسوق الموازي.

استقبل شرٌف فتحً وزٌر الطٌران المدنى بمكتبه مساء الٌوم "مارٌوس دٌمترٌادس " وزٌر النقل القبرصً والسفٌر خارٌس مورتسٌس سفٌر قبرص فى القاهرة والوفد المرافق لهما للتوقٌع النهائً علً اتفاقٌة النقل الجوي وتعزٌز سبل التعاون المشترك بٌن البلدٌن. وصرح وزٌر الطٌران ان االتفاقٌة الجدٌدة تهدف الى زٌادة التعاون فً مجال االمن وسالمة الطٌران المدنً بٌن دولتً مصر وقبرص وتعزٌز العالقات الثنائٌة فى مجال النقل الجوى ،كما تضمنت االتفاقٌة ملحق خاص لزٌادة نقاط التشغٌل بٌن البلدٌن مماٌودي الً زٌادة الرحالت التً ٌمكن ان ٌشغلها كل طرف لدي الطرف األخر. ومن جانبه اعرب وزٌر النقل القبرصً عن سعادته بتوقٌع االتفاقٌة فً صورتها النهائٌة مما ٌساعد علً زٌادة التعاون مع مصر فً مجال النقل الجوي وخاصة وانها تحظى بموقع متمٌز بافرٌقٌا باعتبارها البوابة االولى داخل القارة السمراء، جدٌر بالذكر ان شركة مصر للطٌران للخطوط الداخلٌة واإلقلٌمٌة اكسبرٌس تسٌر رحلة ٌومٌة من القاهرة إلً الرناكا من طراز امبراٌر E170.

شركة أمن خاصة تشارك فى تؤمٌن مبنى ( )2بمطار القاهرة
حسٌن الزناتى أعلنت وزارة الطٌران المدنى أن شركة أمن خاصة ستشارك فى تؤمٌن مبنى الركاب الجدٌد رقم ( )2بمطار القاهرة الدولى ،وٌجرى حالٌا تدرٌب العاملٌن بها للقٌام بمهامهم بالمطار ،وكانت الشركة الخاصة قد بدأت مطلع الشهر الجارى عملها لتؤمٌن الركاب واألمتعة والشحن الجوى بمطار شرم الشٌخ ،حٌث بدأت المرحلة األولى من عملها فى شرم الشٌخ بتؤمٌن الركاب واألمتعة على أن ٌكون الشحن الجوى فى المرحلة الثانٌة ،وستقوم بالتفتٌش اإلدارى للركاب واألمتعة على أن تظل الضبطٌة القضائٌة وتؤمٌن المطارات والمنشآت من اختصاص وزارة الداخلٌة ،وسٌستمر عملهم جنبا إلى جانب رجال األمن التابعٌن لشرطة المطار لفترة تتراوح بٌن ثالثة إلى أربعة أشهر ٌتم خاللها تسلٌم وتسلم المهام الخاصة باإلجراءات المحددة للشركة. وأوضح شرٌف فتحى وزٌر الطٌران أن الشركات الخاصة بتؤمٌن المطارات تحظى بدعم كبٌر من جمٌع جهات الدولة السٌادٌة ،خاصة وزارة الداخلٌة والتى وجه لها الشكر والتقدٌر لما تقوم به من مجهودات فى هذا الصدد.

مطالب موسكو ..ما لها وما علٌها متى ٌتم استئناف الرحالت الروسٌة إلى مصر ؟
متى ٌتم استئناف الرحالت الروسٌة الى مصر ؟ ..سإال ٌطرح نفسه بقوة كلما صدرت تصرٌحات من العاصمة الروسٌة موسكو عن قرب استئناف الرحالت لمصر أو كلما التقت وفود مصرٌة ــ وروسٌة معنٌة بهذا األمر.. ومن هنا فإننا سنحاول طرح صورة واضحة لما تشهده المفاوضات المصرٌة الروسٌة وتقدٌم رإٌة كاملة حول هذا الملف الذى طال الحدٌث عنه وفٌه بدرجة أثارت التساإالت حوله !.
بداٌة البد أن نشٌر الى أن الصورة الحالٌة تجعل عودة السٌاحة الروسٌة إلى مصر خالل الموسم الشتوى الذى ٌبدأ فى نوفمبر المقبل أمرا صعبا وفقا لتوقعات الخبراء برغم الجهود المكثفة لوزارة الطٌران وكافة األجهزة المعنٌة فى االستجابة للمطالب الروسٌة خاصة أن رحالت األفواج السٌاحٌة تتطلب تعاقدات مسبقة وبفترة طوٌلة لتنظٌم هذه الرحالت ..ومن الممكن استئناف رحالت شركة «إٌروفلوت» الروسٌة ومصر للطٌران من مطار القاهرة كمرحلة أولى فى منتصف الموسم الشتوى -وهذا ما نؤمله -لكن ذلك قد الٌضٌف رصٌداً كبٌراً من السٌاح الروس الذٌن ٌفضلون مدٌنتى شرم الشٌخ والغردقة بصورة أكبر من القاهرة !. مصادر مطلعة أكدت لـ «عالم المطارات» أن هناك نقاطا مازالت معلقة بٌن الجانبٌن وٌبدو أن الجانب المصرى الذى استعد لإلعالن الروسً رسمٌا ً من القاهرة عن موعد استئناف الرحالت الى مصر قد وجد إصراراً روسٌا ً على تنفٌذ «كل المطالب» والتى وصلت الى نحو 17مطلبا قبل اإلعالن النهائى عن تحدٌد موعد استئناف الرحالت وبرغم شهادة المنظمات الدولٌة للطٌران المدنى بكفاءة ومطابقة المطارات المصرٌة للمعاٌٌر الدولٌة الخاصة بسالمة وأمن الطٌران المصرى فقد تمت االستجابة الى معظم المطالب الروسٌة وتبقت أربعة منها قٌد الدراسة والتنفٌذ منها تزوٌد األبواب الخاصة بدخول العاملٌن بالمطارات بـ «البصمة البٌومترٌة « وبالفعل تقرر البدء فى تطبٌقها بالمطارات والبداٌة ستكون بمبنى 2الجدٌد بمطار القاهرة بالتنسٌق مع األجهزة المعنٌة لكنها قد تستغرق فترة زمنٌة لتشغٌلها فى كل المطارات..
)(2 أٌضا توقٌع اتفاقٌة ثنائٌة ألمن الطٌران وهو ماجعل وزارة الطٌران المصرى تعلن عن «دراسة» اتفاقٌة أمنٌة بٌن البلدٌن وفقا لقواعد «اإلٌكاو» والبرنامج القومى المصرى ألمن الطٌران. وكذلك المطالبة بمشاركة أمن روسى فى إجراءات تفتٌش الركاب والبضائع على الطائرات المتجهة من المطارات المصرٌة الى روسٌا منذ دخول الراكب المطار وحتى إقالع الطائرة وهو أمر قد ٌكون قابال للتطبٌق فى مراحل محددة من التفتٌش ولٌس كل المراحل وبما الٌمس السٌادة المصرٌة كما طلب الجانب الروسً زٌادة سعة تخزٌن كامٌرات مراقبة باألسوار فى المطارات الى ٌ 30وما ً ولكن قدرة الكامٌرات الموجودة تقل عن ذلك وبالتالى ٌحتاج االمر لفترة زمنٌة للتعاقد على كامٌرات جدٌدة وتركٌب كامٌرات فى األماكن التى الٌوجد بها وتعدٌل أنظمة التخزٌن بالكامٌرات الموجودة ..الى جانب المطالبة بتولى شركات أمن خاصة المشاركة فى عملٌات التؤمٌن بالمطارات المصرٌة وفى هذا اإلطار تم إصدار تعلٌمات مشددة بتشدٌد اجراءات التفتٌش للعاملٌن من األبواب المخصصة لهم والمرور من أجهزة الكشف والتفتٌش الٌدوى دون اى استثناءات. أٌضا المطالبة بتخصٌص «صالة للرحالت الروسٌة فقط» وهو أمر وإن لم ٌكن مرفوضا ً من الجانب المصرى ولكنه قابل للتطبٌق فقط فى حالة زٌادة اعداد السٌاح الروس بدرجة كبٌرة تسمح بتخصٌص صالة خاصة لهم ..كذلك هناك إصرار من الجانب الروسً على ضرورة إسراع الجانب المصرى فى تطبٌق البصمة ( البٌومترٌة ) وهى بصمة العٌن أوالٌد لدخول العاملٌن الى الدائرة الجمركٌة بالمطارات كما طلب الوفد الروسً بإسراع الجهات المصرٌة فى تحقٌقاتها حول حادث الطائرة الروسٌة !. ومع الجهود المكثفة لوزٌر الطٌران وكافة الوزارات واألجهزة المعنٌة فإننا نؤمل استئناف الرحالت قرٌبا ً. وفى النهاٌة البد أن نشٌر الى ضرورة أن ٌضع متخذو القرار المصرى فى االعتبار عند التوصل الى اتفاق نهائى مع روسٌا أن هناك بعض الدول أوبعض شركات الطٌران التى تنتظر كٌف سنتعامل مع المطالَب الروسٌة الستئناف الرحالت الى مصر ..ووقتها ٌمكن أن نجدها تطالب بنفس هذه المطالب !!.

الجمعٌة العامة «لإلٌكاو» تبحث السالمة الجوٌة وأمن الطٌران تهانى عبدالرحٌم
ناقشت الجمعٌة العامة للمنظمة الدولٌة للطٌران المدنى «اإلٌكاو» فى اجتماعات الدورة الـ39 بمدٌنة مونتلاير بكندا العدٌد من القضاٌا العامة والتى تتعلق بالسالمة الجوٌة وأمن الطٌران وحماٌة البٌئة وسٌاسات النقل الجوى ،باإلضافة الى ملفات مختلفة تتعلق بالطٌران المدنى فى المجاالت االقتصادٌة والطبٌة والقانونٌة،
كما تم انتخاب مجلس المنظمة والمكاتب الفنٌة للمنظمة والتى تدعم عمل األمانة العامة للمنظمة ،وذلك لثالث سنوات مقبلة بحضور ممثلى ما ٌقرب من 191دولة أعضاء لدى المنظمة ووفود المنظمات الدولٌة واإلقلٌمٌة .وخالل اعمال هذه الدورة فازت مصر بمقعدها فى مجلس المنظمة محتفظة بذلك بهذا المقعد منذ انشاء اإلٌكاو ،وقال وزٌر الطٌران إن احتفاظ مصر بمقعدها الدائم فى مجلس المنظمة الدولٌة للطٌران ٌإكد مكانتها الدولٌة فى مجال النقل الجوى ،حٌث ٌتم انتخاب مصر بصورة دائمة لعضوٌة المجلس منذ انشاء المنظمة عام 1947وحتى اآلن. جدٌر بالذكر ان مجلس المنظمة ٌضم 36عضوا من بٌن 191دولة أعضاء بالمنظمة وٌنقسم المجلس الى ثالث فئات كل فئة األولى تمثل الدول المصنعة للطائرات وتكنولوجٌا الطٌران ،أما الفئة الثانٌة ومنها مصر فتضم الدول التً لها مشاركات فعالة لتطوٌر الطٌران المدنى حول العالم ،والفئة الثالثة تضم دوال عن مناطق العالم الجغرافٌة.

الموسوعة الجوٌة = تجنب هذه التصرفات على متن الطائرة: وفق تقرٌر أصدره االتحاد الدولى للنقل الجوى «أٌاتا» مإخرا عن «تصرفات الركاب الجامحة» على متن الطائرات والتى قد تسبب إزعاجا لبقٌة المسافرٌن لوحظ تزاٌد فى هذه التصرفات حٌث بلغت %14زٌادة فى عام ،2015بالمقارنة مع عام ..2014حٌث تم اإلبالغ عن 10٨54تصرفا مزعجا فى 2015فٌما تم االبالغ عن 9316فى العام السابق له ..ومن هنا تعرف معنا عزٌزى القارئ على أكثر التصرفات المزعجة للركاب لتتجنبها
المرتبة األولى :فى تصوٌت تم إجراإه على اآلالف المسافرٌن وفقا لتقرٌر أٌاتا قال %61منهم إن الركاب الذٌن «ٌركلون» المقاعد هم األشخاص األكثر إزعاجا خالل السفر. المرتبة الثانٌةٌ :شعر %59من المسافرٌن باالنزعاج من األهالى الذٌن ٌتركون أطفالهم ٌتصرفون بطرٌقة مزعجة وال ٌستجٌبون لبكائهم وحركتهم المستمرة. أما الركاب الذٌن تفوح منهم روائح غٌر طٌبة فقد احتلوا المرتبة الثالثة كمصدر إزعاج لـ %50من المسافرٌن. وجاء الركاب الذٌن ٌلعبون ألعاب الفٌدٌو أو ٌتحدثون أو ٌستمعون إلى الموسٌقى بصوت عال كمصدر إزعاج فى الطائرة فى المرتبة الرابعة. %45اشتكوا من المسافرٌن الذٌن ٌبالغون فى شرب الكحول لٌحتلوا المرتبة الخامسة بنسبة اإلزعاج خالل رحلة السفر. المرتبة السادسة :إذا كنت تعتبر رحالت السفر فرصة لتكوٌن عالقات جدٌدة ال ٌوافقك كثٌرون هذا الرأى إذ أوضح %43من المسافرٌن أن األشخاص الذٌن ٌتحدثون بكثرة هم مصدر إزعاج. أما الركاب الذٌن ٌحملون معهم عددا كبٌرا من الحقائب على متن الطائرة فجاءوا فى المركز السابع كمصدر إزعاج فى أثناء السفر ألنهم ٌعرقلون حركة الركاب أثناء صعود الطائرة أو الخروج منها. وجاء الركاب الذٌن ٌسارعون بالوقوف عند هبوط الطائرة وال ٌنتظرون حتى تتوقف محركاتها تماما المرتبة الثامنة لٌشكلوا مصدر إزعاج لـ %35من المسافرٌن. المرتبة التاسعة ..قال %30من المسافرٌن إنهم ٌشعرون باالنزعاج من االشخاص الذٌن ٌرجعون مقاعدهم إلى الوراء دون أن ٌهتموا بالراكب الجالس خلفهم. وفى المرتبة العاشرةٌ ..شعر %32من الركاب باالنزعاج من المسافرٌن الذٌن ٌضعون أمتعتهم فى أول مساحة متاحة حتى وإذا كانت مخصصة لمقاعد ركاب آخرٌن

" مإامرة االخوان " فً المطار ! بدأت كتابة هذا المقال فً صالة 1بمطار القاهرة ،عندما تكشفت امامً تفاصٌل " المإامرة االخوانٌة " لتدمٌر المطار واشاعة الفوضى واالساءة لسمعة مصر!. كنت اتجول فً المطار وأرى مشاهد ال ٌراها اي مسافر فً أي مطار آخر بالعالم ..وأتساءل هل ماٌحدث هنا هو اٌضا مإامرة اخوانٌة او خارجٌة على مطارات مصر أم ان كل هذا نحن صنعناه بؤٌدٌنا ؟ ..وهل ترتاح ضمائرنا ونحن نخدع انفسنا بؤن كل مشاكلنا فً كل مكان هً مإامرة علٌنا من تدبٌر أعدائنا الذٌن ال ٌرٌدون لنا الخٌر وٌعطلون مسٌرة االنجازات ؟! وحتى ال اتهم بؤنً ال أرى غٌر الصورة السلبٌة ،اقول بؤننا نملك االمكانٌات الهائلة والمبانً العظٌمة ولكننا -لالسف -النبحث عن البشر والعقول والكفاءات التً تدٌرها وتعظمها وتحافظ علٌها وتستثمرها بؤفضل الوسائل واالفكار الحدٌثة وقد راودتنً اسئلة عدٌدة . خالل تواجدي فً المطار انتظارا لرحلتً وعادت االسئلة تالحقنً عند عودتً : ماهً الصعوبة فً فتح بوابات الدخول للمطار حتى ال ٌتكدس المسافرون مثل الغنم ؟ ماهً المشكلة فً أن ٌكون لدٌنا مطار نظٌف ٌ،نتشر فٌه عمال نظافة ( بمالبس نظٌفة) وصنادٌق قمامة فً كلمكان ؟ ماهً المشكلة فً ان ٌكون رجال االمن بالمطار مدربٌن على حسن التعامل مع المسافرٌن واحترام مظهر وهٌبةوسمعة البلد ٌ ،خفضون اصواتهم العالٌة والٌدخنون السجائر اثناء العمل وال ٌتسامرون مع بعضهم وٌتجاهلون الركاب ؟! ال ٌوجد مطار فً العالم ،بعد ان تختم جواز السفر ٌ ،قابلك رجل أمن بعد 4امتار لٌدقق فً الجواز ،وعلى بابالصعود لالتوبٌس شخص آخر وقبل ان تركب الطائرة شخص خامس ! .. لماذا ال تستطٌع دخول الحمام فً المطار ؟! ..االسباب عدٌدة وٌطول شرحها ،ولكننا نطمع فً ان ٌكون لدٌناحمام فً المطار ٌشبه حمام مطار قبرص ..ولن أقول دبً !. ماهً المشكلة فً ان تكون هناك امام شبابٌك شركات الطٌران والجوازات ممرات محددة بحواجز لٌقف الناس فًطوابٌر بدال من تحوٌل المطار لسوق شعبً ؟ وماهً االزمة فً تنظٌم اماكن وممرات لسٌارات االجرة ومركبات نقل المسافرٌن من امام المطار ،بؤسلوب راقومحترم كما ٌحدث عند الخروج من اي مطار فً العالم ..،الناس تقف فً طوابٌر وتؤتً لها السٌارات بالدور ، حتً الٌحدث مانراه من فوضى وخناقات بٌن السائقٌن على اختطاف الركاب ؟ وماهً المعضلة التارٌخٌة التً لم ٌنجح أحد فً حلها ،ان تكون لدٌنا ساحة انتظار للسٌارات منظمة فً المطار ،تدخلها وفق اشارات تدلك على مكانك وتخرج منها بسهولة بدون ان تضٌع فً بٌت جحا ؟! ...ماهً االزمة الكبرى او المإامرة الكونٌة التً تمنعنا ان ٌكون عندنا مطار ٌلٌق بنا شكال ومضمونا ً وسمعة وخدمة ،كما تفعل معظم دول العالم ؟ ..ان ماأطلبه وٌشكو منه المالٌٌن غٌري ال ٌحتاج الى اموال هائلة وال امكانٌات مستحٌلة ،ولكنه ٌحتاج الى من ٌحب هذا البلد بجد ،االنسان الكفء المدرب الواعً بخطورة وحساسٌة وظٌفته ٌ ،حتاج الً الموظف والمدٌر والمسئول والعامل الذي ٌقوم بدوره وٌإدي وظٌفته وفق تعلٌمات وأهداف محددة وفً ظل رقابة وعملٌة تقٌٌم ومحاسبة مستمرة .بدون هذا سٌبقى الوضع على ماهو علٌه وسوف نسٌر لالسوأ .وربنا ٌستر على صالة 2وأخواتها !.

Saudia to recruit more women for catering division JEDDAH: Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), the Jeddah-based flag carrier airline of the Kingdom, is planning to hire more women in the catering division. Nearly 300 women will be employed in the national carrier’s premises in Jeddah and Madinah, Arab News quoted Saudia Director General Saleh Al-Jasser as saying, while opening Alfursan internal lounge at the departure terminal 5 at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Wajdy Al-Ghabban, CEO of Saudi Airlines Catering Co., confirmed to Arab News that Saudi Catering plans to hire the next three years more women over As many as 221 women will be hired only in one division (kitchen) in Jeddah, the report said, adding that Saudia Catering, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Airlines, has already 120 women employed in the fields of retail and logistics. Recent statistics from the Ministry of Labor (MoL) show that the Saudi private sector employed more than 350,000 women at the end of 2015, and the figure is expected to reach 450,000 by the end of 2016, a local publication reported. The MoL said in a recent report that securing suitable jobs for women was one of the most important goals for Saudi society, adding that it works with its partners in the labor system to provide a work environment that is safe for women. .

Al-Jasser also underlined that Saudia is ready to compete with new operators as the company is always keen to provide its passengers with the highest levels of comfort and safety. It has also been continuously planning to further develop its services like launching new flight routes and destinations, and expanding its seat capacities. He added that the internal capacity has grown by 16 percent, promising that the aircraft shortage problem will disappear within a year as 40 new planes are expected to join Saudi Arabian Airlines fleet. ―Fourteen new aircraft, including 10 wide-body ones, will enter service in the next 80 days. Four B747s have been already scrapped, while the remaining Empire-model planes (15 ones) and five first-generation 777-200s will be retired before the end of the year. Other 23 aircraft will be scrapped before the end of 2017. Plus, 28 A320s will be phased out in two years. All these old planes will be replaced by the new ones,‖ Al-Jasser said. Etihad service to Texas to go daily in February Etihad is expanding its service to Texas with daily flights starting next year. The Abu Dhabi carrier said it would add four flights a week to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport starting on February 2 next year

Stansted tantalisingly close to prerecession passenger numbers London Stansted’s annual passenger total has topped 24 million for only the second time in the airport’s history as the UK’s fourth busiest airport closes in on its all-time passenger record. The total number of passengers using Stansted in the 12 months ending September reached 24,009,348, up 8.4 per cent on the previous year and just 6,000 short of the record high set in October 2007. During September, nearly 2.2 million passengers passed through Stansted, up seven per cent on the same month last year and the second busiest September ever for the airport. Growth continued to be driven by high load factors with 88.5 per cent of all available seats occupied on each flight. This total was a record high for the month of September at Stansted. Cargo volumes also continued on an upward trajectory with over 21,000 tonnes of goods and products passing through the airport’s dedicated cargo facility during the month to take the annual total to over 250,000 tonnes, an increase of 6.5 per cent over the previous year. Stansted Airport chief executive Andrew Cowan said: ―Stansted Airport has enjoyed a period of rapid and sustained growth in passenger numbers under the ownership of MAG and through long-term deals with key carriers such as Ryanair.

Monarch Group secures £165mn investment from Greybull
Monarch Airlines (ZB, London Luton) parent, the Monarch Group, has announced it has secured a GBP165 million (USD204 million) investment from its majority shareholder, Greybull Capital.
In the statement issued on Wednesday, October 12, the leisure travel firm said the investment had allowed it to renew its Air Travel Organizer's Licence (ATOL) for another twelve months and would fund its future growth plans. It is recalled the United Kingdom's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had given Monarch Group until October 12 to resolve its financial issues or risk losing its ATOL status. ―It is testament to the extensive effort by all parties, over the past weeks and months, that we are able to announce the largest investment in our 48-year history, as well as the renewal of our ATOL licences," Andrew Swaffield, Chief Executive Officer of The Monarch Group, said. ―I’d like to thank the CAA, our shareholders, partners, loyal customers and the team at Monarch for helping us to achieve this successful outcome. We are now firmly focused on the future as a stronger Monarch.‖

Ameco Grows Line Maintenance Business Ameco has confirmed its third-party line maintenance work for international customers has increased. By the end of August, the Chinese MRO said that eight customers had signed up for line maintenance and releasing services, making the total amount of international customers for line maintenance in excess of seventy involving all Boeing and Airbus widebody aircraft types, including the A350 and the 787, for which Ameco has grown its line maintenance capabilities. In May, Ameco gained CAAC approval on the 787-9 variant for line maintenance, scheduled check, modification, engine change and axillary ower unit change. The CAAC approval added to existing certifications from EASA and the FAA. Along with its main facility in Beijing, Ameco has nine other branches located in Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Hohhot, Shanghai, Guiyang, Wuhan and Guangzhou.

Shane Carmody starts as acting CASA chief executive Senior public servant Shane Carmody has taken his seat as acting chief executive of Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Darren Chester said Carmody, whose most executive was appointed by the CASA recent position was as Deputy Secretary at the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, would be in the role for up to 12 months or until a new chief executive was appointed by the CASA board. Carmody takes over from Mark Skidmore, who announced his resignation as CASA chief executive and director of aviation safety in August, less than two and a half years into his five-year term. Chester said Carmody would continue to progress the implementation of CASA’s response to theAviation Safety Regulatory Review (ASRR). ―Mr Carmody’s appointment will ensure the aviation safety regulator retains strong leadership as the reforms are finalised,‖ Minister Chester said in a statement on Wednesday. ―A domestic and international search for a new CEO is currently underway.‖ In his various roles at the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Carmody had responsibility for aviation and airports, the Office of Transport Security, the Western Sydney Unit and local government and territories. Also, Carmody worked at CASA for about three years between 2006 and 2009 as deputy chief executive for strategy and support.
