مصر للطٌران :نقل 1700معتمر منذ بداٌة دٌسمبر

قالت مصادر بشركة مصر للطٌران :إن الشركة تمكنت من نقل 1700معتمر على متن رحالتها المنتظمة ألداء العمرة منذ أول دٌسمبر الجاري وحتى الٌوم. وأضافت المصادر ،أن نسبة اإلقبال على حجز تذاكر الطٌران من قبل المعتمرٌن لم تتجاوز الـ%50 مقارنة باألعوام السابقة ،نتٌجة الرسوم الجدٌدة المفروضة على مكرري العمرة ،باإلضافة إلى المنافسة من قبل الشركات الخاصة األخرى العاملة بمطار القاهرة والخطوط السعودٌة. وأوضحت المصادر ،أن الشركة نقلت المعتمرٌن على متن رحالتها المنتظمة لكل من جدة والمدٌنة المنورة ،بواقع 8رحالت إلى جدة ،و 3رحالت إلى المدٌنة المنورة ٌومٌا وفقا لجدول التشغٌل ،مشٌرة إلى أنه لم ٌتم تسٌٌر أي رحالت إضافٌة ،نظرا ألن العدد الحالً من المعتمرٌن ٌتم نقله على الرحالت المنتظمة دون الحاجة إلى رحالت إضافٌة. وتابعت المصادر :إن عمرة المولد النبوي لم تشهد اإلقبال الكثٌف مقارنة باألعوام الماضٌة بسبب الرسوم الجدٌدة ،الفتة إلى أنه من المقرر البدء فً تسٌٌر رحالت إضافٌة لنقل المعتمرٌن إلى األراضً المقدسة ٌناٌر المقبل.

شهد مطار القاهرة الدولى صباح ،الٌوم الجمعة ،تأخر إقالع 5رحالت دولٌة عن المواعٌد المقررة لها بجدول التشغٌل ،وذلك بسبب أعمال الصٌانة وظروف التشغٌل واألحوال الجوٌة فى مطارات الوصول. قالت مصادر مالحٌة بمطار القاهرة أن رحلة الخطوط المغربٌة 273المتجهة إلى كازابالنكا ورحلة الخطوط نسما 170المتجهة إلى جدة ورحلة الخطوط طٌران االتحاد 560المتجهة إلى ابو ظبً تؤخروا عن المواعٌد المقررة لهم بجدول التشغٌل ،وذلك بسبب أعمال الصٌانة. واضافت المصادر أن رحلة الخطوط البرٌطانٌة 154المتجهة إلى لندن ورحلة الخطوط اٌرفلوت 401 المتجهة موسكو تؤخرا عن موعد إقالعهما وذلك بسبب ظروف التشغٌل واألحوال الجوٌة فً مطارات الوصول.

شهد مطار القاهرة الدولً ،صباح الٌوم السبت ،تأخر إقالع 5رحالت جوٌة دولٌة بسبب سوء األحوال الجوٌة فوق مطارات الوصول لتلك الرحالت. وقالت مصادر مالحٌة بمطار القاهرة ،إن المطار شهد تؤخر إقالع رحالت فالي ناس رقم 266المتجهة إلى الرٌاض ،ورحلتً الخطوط الجوٌة السعودٌة رقم 304و 308المتجهتان إلى جدة ،ورحلة الخطوط الجوٌة المغربٌة رقم 273المتجهة إلى كازابالنكا ،ورحلة طٌران شركة االتحاد رقم 650المتجهة إلى أبو ظبً ،بسبب سوء األحوال الجوٌة فوق مطارات الوصول لتلك الرحالت. وأضافت المصادر ،أن جمٌع رحالت شركة مصر للطٌران ،تشهد انتظاما فً حركة المالحة الجوٌة وفقا للمواعٌد المقررة لها بجدول التشغٌل.

مقصورات للنوم فً مطار واشنطن الدولً

"اٌر برلٌن" تقاضً طٌران "االتحاد" اإلماراتً وتطلب ملٌاري دوالر
قالت محكمة فً برلٌن إن المسؤول عن إدارة "إٌر برلٌن" ٌقاضً شركة "االتحاد" للطٌران اإلماراتٌة، المالك السابق لشركة الطٌران األلمانٌة ،للتعوٌض عن خسائر بمبلغ ملٌاري ٌورو ( 2.26ملٌار دوالر). وتسبب قرار "االتحاد" للطٌران سحب تموٌل مخصص لـ "إٌر برلٌن" فً إشهار إفالس ثانً أكبر شركة طٌران فً ألمانٌا فً السابق .وقال المسإول عن إدارة الشركة إن "االتحاد" لم تف بالتزاماتها المالٌة تجاه "إٌر برلٌن". وقالت المحكمة فً بٌان "المطالبات تتعلق بمدفوعات قٌمتها 500ملٌون ،والتؤسٌس على أن الشركة المدعى علٌها ملتزمة بسداد المزٌد من التعوٌضات .الدائرة حددت المبلغ مإقتا ً فً النزاع عند ما ٌصل إلى ملٌاري ٌورو". ولم ٌتسن الوصول إلى "االتحاد" للطٌران للحصول على تعلٌق .ولدى االتحاد للطٌران حتى نهاٌة كانون الثانً (ٌناٌر) للرد على الدعوى وفقا ً للمحكمة.

هبوط اضطراري لطائرة ركاب فً مطار شٌراز كانت فً رحلة من دبً الى اوسلو اضطرت طائرة ركاب من طراز "بوٌنغ" كانت فً رحلة من دبً الى اوسلو ،الى الهبوط اضطرارٌا ظهر الٌوم الجمعة فً مطار شٌراز الدولً جنوب اٌران ،بسبب عطل فنً. وقال مدٌر العالقات العامة بمطار "الشهٌد دستغٌب " بمدٌنة شٌراز "احسان استوار" لمراسل وكالة فارس :ان ظاهرة ركاب كانت فً رحلة من دبً الى اوسلو هبطت اضطرارٌا ظهر الٌوم فً مطار شٌراز الدولً بعد اصابة احد محركات الطائرة بعطل فنً. واوضح ان هذه الطائرة هبطت فً مطار شٌراز فً الساعة الثانٌة عشرة و 40دقٌقة بعد الظهر حسب التوقٌت المحلً (التاسعة و 10دقائق صباحا بتوقٌت غرٌنتش) وعلى متنها 170راكبا والطاقم مإلف من 18شخصا. واشار الى ان الركاب نقلوا الى صالة المطار فً انتظار طائرة بدٌلة الكمال رحلتهم الى اوسلو عاصمة النروٌج. ٌذكر ان مطار "الشٌهد دستغٌب " الدولً فً مدٌنة شٌراز ٌعتبر ثالث اكثر المطارات ازدحاما بالنقل الجوي فً اٌران.

Singapore's SE Asian airport hub ambition lies behind spat with Malaysia Singapore's efforts to claim the status of Southeast Asia's airport hub is complicating an airspace dispute with Malaysia, as the city-state's strategy to ramp up airport capacity has sparked a major backlash from Kuala Lumpur. At stake in the dispute is Singapore's plan to modernize the airspace management of Seletar Airport, its little-known second airport, in order to handle more flights. Kuala Lumpur has claimed that the project would hamper plans for tall buildings in southern Johor, a Malaysian state on the other side of a narrow body of water separating the two countries, over which some Seletar flights travel. As the regional battle to be Southeast Asia's main airport hub intensifies, Singapore has been ramping up Seletar's capacity in order to make full use of its main Changi Airport. Seletar, located in the north of the city near the Malaysian border, is mainly used for private flights, medical evacuations and maintenance, with some 30 aerospace companies including Bombardier and Rolls-Royce having maintenance and repair operations there. Seletar is managed by Changi Airport Group, the main airport's operating company. Bulking up Seletar's capacity would mean Singapore could shift turboprop aircraft operations -- which usually carry fewer passengers than jets -- from Changi to Seletar. The shift "will help to free up capacity for jet aircraft operations at Changi Airport," according to the operating company, thus making more efficient use of Changi as regional competition increases. Southeast Asia's rapid economic growth has led to a sharp rise in the number of air travelers. In order to catch up with growing passenger demand, other major airports in the region, including in Bangkok and Jakarta, are also rushing to expand capacity. Singapore's Changi Airport plans to add a fifth terminal by 2030 and a third runway in the early 2020s.

But until the expansion projects are completed, Changi must get by with its existing facilities -- a situation that has led the city-state to look to Seletar as a solution. In 2011, Seletar extended its runway by 250 meters to support bigger planes. In November this year, its terminal was renewed with expanded capacity of 700,000 passengers per year -- a big change given that the old terminal handled 26,700 passengers in 2015. Seletar also plans to introduce the Instrument Landing System, a precision runway approach system that was developed to enable planes to land safely even in poor visibility. Aircraft currently rely on pilots' eyesight to land safely. But the ILS plan has caused Malaysia to intervene. The Malaysian government said on Dec.4 that the new landing system, which requires a safety buffer on the flight path, would affect construction activities in its territory. However, if the ILS is not in use, Kuala Lumpur claims that pilots would be able to maneuver around obstacles, such as tall buildings. Kuala Lumpur also raised another issue. Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke said his country wanted to regain control of airspace over southern Johor. Based on a bilateral agreement between the two neighbors, Singapore has provided the area's air traffic control services since 1974.

3 Singapore has not taken kindly to what it sees as bullying by Malaysia. "I think the situation seems to be using this technical excuse to trigger demand, to change the airspace arrangement which was brokered by International Civil Aviation Organization long, long ago, which has worked very well, benefiting all stakeholders in this region," Singapore's Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan said on Wednesday. For Singapore, maintaining control of the southern Johor airspace is an important part of its strategy to be the region's main airport hub and have efficient air traffic control. Shukor Yusof, head of aviation research company Endau Analytics, told the Nikkei Asian Review that thanks to the current airspace arrangement, "More aircraft fly into Singapore than they do to [Johor's] Senai Airport, the closest international airport." Loke in early December said Malaysia was capable of managing the southern Johor airspace as the country had improved its air management skills. However, Shukor pointed out that "Malaysia's track record in air traffic control leaves a lot of room for improvement," citing the disappearance incidence of Malaysia Airlines' flight MH370 in 2014. Singapore and Malaysia are expected to have a bilateral meeting in early January, during which the issue will be discussed. As far as the technical issues at Seletar's new landing path is concerned, Singapore's Khaw on Wednesday said that, "With goodwill, I am confident a mutually satisfactory technical solution can be found." Malaysia's Loke on Thursday said, "On any technical considerations, I think I will leave it to the technical experts from both sides to thrash it out."

Malaysia Airlines CEO: Third quarter challenging PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines Bhd expects to finish 2018 by reducing the losses of the previous years despite a challenging third quarter, according to its group chief executive officer Izham Ismail. He said next year looked similarly challenging “but we remain committed to improving performance and reducing costs while managing external factors beyond our control”. Izham said Malaysia Airlines had seen good quarterly traction in 2018 although for the third quarter, it continued to be challenging with volatile fuel prices, unfavourable foreign exchange movements, as well as overcapacity in key markets compounded by the pilot shortage. “Nevertheless, in line with our emphasis on customer experience, I believe our efforts in that area continue to show positive traction. “We are maintaining a strong focus on cost management and will continue to invest in aspects of the customer experience that deliver a competitive edge,” he said.

CEO: Avianca Airlines to add European routes as demand grows Bogota-based Avianca—which reported load factors of nearly 90% in the third quarter on hub routes to Europe—plans to add a second daily Bogota-London Heathrow service if slots are available. In addition, Avianca Holdings CEO Hernan Rincon told ATW the carrier is considering Zurich as the next destination in Europe because of its location in central Europe. He also said the airline is eyeing Rome and Paris. In general, 3Q growth within the entire Avianca network in terms of ASKs reached 6.7% year-over-year (YOY); RPKs were up 6.8% YOY, driven mainly by strong demand on routes to North America and Europe. Avianca, which launched Bogota-Munich services Nov. 17, expects around 67% of passengers on this route to connect to other Avianca destinations in Bogota. On flights to Munich, 33% of passengers connect within Europe and onto Asia. The Star Alliance member predicts an 82% load factor from December-February on the new route. “Avianca will strengthen its codeshare agreement with Lufthansa in order to enhance our presence and connectivity in Europe,” Rincon said. Avianca Holdings S.A. and its subsidiaries ended the quarter with a consolidated operating fleet of 190 aircraft. In 2018, Avianca added five Airbus A320neos, two A330-300s, two A320ceos and its 13th Boeing 787-8. The new 787 mainly operates on routes to Europe; in 2019, the company expects to take delivery of several more A320neos. Regarding the bankruptcy filing of Avianca Brazil on Dec. 11, Rincon said it is important to clarify that Avianca Brazil (Ocean Air) is not part of Avianca Holdings. “This airline, based in Sao Paulo, is a separate and independent company that is owned by Synergy Group, the main shareholder of our company. Ryanair Takes Delivery of its Last Boeing 737NG Ryanair has taken delivery of its last Boeing 737NG, the 531th example since the airline's first order for the type in March 1998 and service entry of its first 737-800 one year later. The Irish low-cost carrier has added on average 25 new 737-800s per year since 1999. The 737-800 remains the only type in Ryanair's fleet—all equipped with 189 seats—apart from one -700 in a VIP configuration used for occasional charter flights and pilot training. The Dublin-based LCC ranks as the largest 737-800 customer in the world and the largest Boeing operator in Europe. “It’s the end of an era and the start of a new one,” Boeing said in a tweet. “Thanks for being all-#Boeing and get ready for the #737MAX “Gamechanger.” Ryanair stands as the launch customer for the 737 Max 200, having placed orders for 135 and options on another 75. The variant can accommodate up to 200 seats, though Ryanair will fit its 737 Max 200s with 197 seats, an increase of 4 percent compared with its 737-800s. Deliveries should start in April and support Ryanair’s planned growth to 200 million passengers annually by 2024. While remaining true to its low-cost business model, Ryanair has decided to reverse its historic approach to the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) program. Like most LCCs, Ryanair has never felt the need to become IOSA certified. IATA director general and CEO Alexandre de Juniac announced Ryanair’ s change of mind at the association’s global media day in Geneva. An executive with the airline who requested anonymity confirmed to AIN it would undertake the IOSA certification process, adding that as the biggest airline in Europe in terms of passenger numbers it welcomes an independent view of its safety processes. The executive also said IOSA certification would prove useful for certain contractual engagements, while cautioning that becoming IOSA certified would not mean Ryanair would become an IATA member at the moment. “We do not interline, and we typically do avoid that kind of expense,” he said.

IATA: Local issues in Latin America hinder air travel growth The Latin America-Caribbean region is clearly seeing growth but is hamstrung by insufficient infrastructure and air traffic management, excessive costs and taxation. Briefing media at its Geneva headquarters, IATA executives said Latin American passenger levels were expected to double by 2034 and the air transport industry’s contribution to regional GDP has the potential to rise from $140 billion to $322 billion. “The Latin American industry of 2018 bears little resemblance to what it was at the turn of the century. In the last decade alone, the number of passengers carried by the region's airlines has more than doubled,” IATA regional VP, the Americas, Peter Cerda said. “Looking ahead, over the next 20 years we expect 4.2% average annual growth … over 750 million journeys are expected to touch the region by 2036.” Latin American carriers like Aeromexico, Copa, LATAM and Avianca are all forging new international ties, bringing an influx of passengers from Europe and North America. And conversely, passengers from the region are taking advantage of new opportunities to connect to the rest of the world. However, 2018 was a challenging year for the region. While Brazil’s economy continued to recover from recession, other countries’ economies faced new challenges, as both Argentina and Mexico saw currency devaluations against the US dollar. For the airline industry in the region, the strength of the dollar effectively raised the local currency cost of key US dollar-dominated necessities, i.e. oil and aircraft.
