وزارة الطٌران تؤكد مصرع قائد حرس الوزٌر بطرٌق العلمٌن

أكدت مصادر مطلعة بوزارة الطٌران المدنى،مصرع قائد حرس "شرٌف فتحً" وزٌر الطٌران المدنً،فى حادث سٌارة صباح الٌوم الجمعة بطرٌق العلمٌن وأن الوزارة تتابع إجراءات دفن الجثمان . وقالت المصادر،إن الرائد " إسالم حاتم " قائد حرس وزٌر الطٌران كان فى زٌارة خاصة للساحل الشمالى وتعرضت سٌارته لحادث فى طرٌق العلمٌن أدى لمصرعه وتقوم الوزارة حالٌا بالتنسٌق مع أسرة قائد الحرس إلتخاذ اإلجراءات الالزمة نحو دفن الجثمان.

(1) Turkish travelers "warned" of high "rape rate" in Sweden ISTANBUL, Turkey - Turkey has posted its own "travel warning" amid an ongoing international scandal linked to Turkey’s underage sex law, placing ads at Istanbul Airport alleging that "Sweden has the highest rape rate worldwide." The "warning" apparently appeared at the international Ataturk airport, in the form of a banner, by the Turkish Gunes newspaper, The Local reported on Friday. Earlier, Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom took to social media, calling on Ankara to "reverse" a court ruling which she believed legalized sex with children under the age of 15 in Turkey. Ankara blasted the Swedish official, with her Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu calling the allegations "lies" and said that Wallstrom had no idea of what she was talking about. Expressing its support "of freedom of speech," the embassy of Sweden in Ankara said it had "no interest" in demanding that the banner be removed. The Swedish diplomats in Turkey have also released a statement calling the cited rape statistics "reoccurring misconceptions." "To compare reported rape in Sweden with reported rapes in other countries with different legal and statistical systems does not describe reality correctly," the Swedish embassy in Ankara wrote. It explained that crime statistics are calculated differently in Sweden, with "every single offense" being recorded separately, even when involving the same victim and suspect over a particular period of time.

International concern over changes into Turkish laws regarding punishment for sexual abuse of children has already triggered diplomatic trouble. Austria's deputy ambassador in Turkey has been summoned by Ankara over a message shown at Vienna airport, which read "Turkey allows sex with children under the age of 15." Earlier this year, Turkey's constitutional court canceled a legal article pertaining to the sexual abuse of children under 15 years of age following a petition by a lower court, which said there was no difference between cases of sexual acts involving teenagers or toddlers. According to Turkish Hurriyet Daily, the move was to "increase rather than decrease sentences for the crime." Gradual punishments based on the age of the sexual abuse and rape victims will be written into law soon, the Turkish media explained, saying a distinction will be made between victims aged under 12 and those aged between 12 and 18. Citing unnamed sources, Hurriyet reported that the new law would toughen sentences for offenders targeting younger children.

Saudia to hire 100% Saudi pilots by 2020
JEDDAH: Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) is optimistic about reaching its goal of 200 aircraft by the year 2020 and aims to have 100 percent Saudi pilots, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, director general of the airline, said Friday. Addressing a press conference upon his return to Jeddah after taking the delivery of the new Airbus A330 in France, he said Saudia is expected to receive 25 such aircraft within a few months. The aircraft is the first of the A330-300 Regional aircraft ordered at the 2015 Paris Airshow and joins Saudia’s existing Airbus fleet. Elaborating on the pilots issue, which was highlighted by Arab News, AlJasser said: ”Saudia is training about 3,000 Saudi pilots. They have been sent abroad for the best education and to fulfill the future demand for pilots and copilots.” ,
(2) Asked if Saudi women were included in Saudia’s recruitment program, he said the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Labor and Social Development would be able to answer that query. Asked if the aircraft replaced with the new ones would be transferred to Flyadeal, a Jeddah-based low-cost airline owned by Saudia, Al-Jasser told Arab News that Flyadeal is aiming to acquire new aircraft. ”The old aircraft will be sold to other airlines or used as scrap.” The number of aircraft that Saudia currently operates includes 35 Airbus A320-200, 15 Airbus A320, 12 Airbus A330-300, 22 Boeing B777-268L, 4 Boeing B787-9 and 11 Embraer 170. According to him, two thirds of Saudia’s operating capacity is in domestic flights as it is the only airline that operates at all the 27 airports in the Kingdom. The Airbus A330 will help cut operating cost by 20 percent per seat. Asked if the cut in operating costs would result in a decrease in ticket prices, Al-Jasser said: ”For domestic flights, the prices are fixed by regulations and hence not a fitting economic return for the airline. In terms of international flights, the prices are affected by supply and demand. Even the domestic airline market will one day come under the supply and demand category.” Earlier, during a press conference in the French city of Toulouse, on the occasion of receiving the aircraft, Al-Jasser said the company should be able to fly around 45 million guests by the year 2020. .

SAUDI Arabian Airlines, the national carrier of Saudi Arabia, has taken delivery of its first A330-300 Regional, making it the launch customer for this new member of the versatile and successful A330 family. United Air names new CFO and CCO in revamp NEW YORK: United Continental Holdings (United Air) said it appointed a new chief financial officer (CFO) and chief commercial officer (CCO) in the first major management revamp since Oscar Munoz took the helm of the airline last September. United, the No. 3 US airline by passenger traffic, named Andrew Levy its CFO, filling a job that has been vacant for more than a year. Levy had multiple roles including CFO at low-cost airline Allegiant Travel Co. United also said Julia Haywood, a former Boston Consulting Group partner, was named chief commercial officer. Chief Revenue Officer Jim Compton will retire at the end of 2016, the airline said. Haywood’s role will be the same as Compton’s despite the change in title. The moves are the latest attempt by United and its reshuffled board to shape a new strategy and boost its stock price. The airline has lagged larger rival Delta Air Lines in on-time arrivals and profit margins. ”The older blood, within the airline industry, was seen as potentially negative,” said Craig Juran of Denver Investments, who manages a fund with a stake in United. Levy ”fits the description where heís in the industry, but heís not 100 per cent in the industry. He is a little bit different.”
PAR Capital Management Inc partner Edward Shapiro won a seat on United’s board following the hedge fund’s activist campaign last spring, and the fund was a major Allegiant shareholder during Levy’s time.
