مصر للطٌران :إقالع 15رحلة إلى السعودٌة لنقل 3500معتمر كتب -طه عبٌد: تسٌر شركة مصر للطٌران الٌوم األحد 15 ،رحلة جوٌة من مطار القاهرة الدولً متوجهة إلى السعودٌة لنقل 3آالف و 500معتمر ألداء مناسك عمرة شهر رمضان. وقالت مصادر بالشركة ،إنه من المقرر أن تسٌر الشركة 8رحالت إلى مطار جدة الدولً ،و 7رحالت جوٌة إلى مطار المدنٌة المنورة ،تقلع جمٌعها من مبنً الرحالت الموسمٌة بمطار القاهرة فً إطار الجسر الجوي الذي تسٌره الشركة لتقل 100ألف معتمر خالل شهر رمضان.

2 وتنظم شركة مصر للطٌران ،غدا اإلثنٌن 4 ،رحالت طٌران إلى المملكة العربٌة السعودٌة ،لنقل معتمرى فلسطٌن ألداء مناسك العمرة ،وفق بروتوكول تعاون مع الجانب الفلسطٌنى. وحرصت السلطات بمطار القاهرة ،بالتنسٌق مع مصر للطٌران ،وبتوجٌهات من وزٌر الطٌران المدنى الفرٌق ٌونس المصرى ،على توفٌر فرٌق من العالقات العامة إلنهاء إجراءات وصول المعتمرٌن الفلسطٌنٌٌن القادمٌن من معبر رفح البرى ،وتسهٌل إجراءات سفر كبار السن. وبدأت الشركة تسٌٌر الرحالت الخاصة 4ماٌو الحالى حتى ٌ 5ونٌو المقبل ،بواقع 4رحالت ٌوم االثنٌن من كل أسبوع على طائرات الشركة من طراز اإلٌرباص .200-330 وكانت السلطات المصرٌة قد وافقت على عبور 20ألف معتمر فلسطٌنى من قطاع غزة عبر منفذ رفح البرى ألداء مناسك العمرة ،على أن ٌتم نقلهم من قطاع غزة عبر منفذ رفح البرى بواقع 1000معتمر أسبوعٌا إلى مطار القاهرة الدولى. وشهدت حركة الطٌران بمطار القاهرة الدولى ،صباح الٌوم األحد ،تأخر إقالع 5رحالت جوٌة دولٌة بسبب ظروف التشغٌل ،وارتفاع كثافة التشغٌل بمطارات الممكلة العربٌة السعودٌة بسبب موسم العمرة. وقالت مصادر مالحٌة بالمطار إن المطار شهد تأخر إقالع رحالت الخطوط السعودٌة رقم 314و321 المتجهتٌن إلى الرٌاض ،ورحلة رقم 338المتجهة إلى الدمام ،ورحلة رقم 304المتجهة إلى مطار جده الدولى. وأضافت المصادر أن المطار شهد تأخر إقالع رحلة الخطوط الجوٌة التركٌة رقم 691والمتجهة إلى اسطنبول ،بسبب ظروف التشغٌل. كما شهد مطار القاهرة الدولى ،الٌوم األحد ،انتظام حركة اإلقالع والهبوط للرحالت الدولٌة والداخلٌة لشركة مصر للطٌران فى المواعٌد المقررة لها طب ًقا لجدول التشغٌل. وقالت مصادر مالحٌة بمطار القاهرة إن حركة إقالع وهبوط الطائرات تسٌر بشكل منتظم وف ًقا للمواعٌد المقررة لها بجدول التشغٌل ،خاصة رحالت شركة مصر للطٌران المتجهة إلى الدول األوروبٌة ،والتى سجلت انتظا ًما فى كل الرحالت رغم ارتفاع كثافة التشغٌل منذ الساعات األولى من صباح الٌوم.

الطٌران المدنً لـ"الوطن" :استنئاف رحالت طٌران الخلٌج إلى دمشق قٌد الدراسة كشف وكٌل وزارة المواصالت واالتصاالت لشؤون الطٌران المدنً محمد ثامر الكعبً ،أن قرار استئناف رحالت طٌران الخلٌج -الناقل الوطنً للمملكة -إلى مطار دمشق الدولً ما زال قٌد الدراسة. وأضاف لـ"الوطن" ،أنه لم ٌتم اتخاذ أي قرار الستئناف الرحالت الجوٌة إلى مطار دمشق الدولً؛ حٌث إن القرار ٌخضع إلى التقٌٌم التجاري بٌن البلدٌن. ولفت وكٌل الوزارة لشؤون الطٌران ،إلى أن الخطوط الجوٌة السورٌة تعمل على قدم وساق ولدٌها 3 رحالت أسبوعٌة من البحرٌن إلى مطار العاصمة السورٌة. وكانت طٌران الخلٌج ،أعلنت إٌقاف رحالتها إلى مطار دمشق منذ 2مارس 2012ألسباب تجارٌة -بحسب تصرٌحات صدرت لمسؤولٌن فً الشركة آنذاك ،فٌما أعلنت الحقا ً عن إطالق وجهات جدٌدة إلى سورٌا فً ،2019خالل خالل المؤتمر السنوي للناقلة ،والتً أعلنت فٌها عن استراتٌجٌتها القادمة. و كشفت الشركة من ضمن الوجهات الجدٌدة التً وضعت على جدولها تنظٌم رحالت إلى دمشق ،دون تحدٌد مواعٌد دقٌقة . وكان رئٌس مجلس إدارة طٌران الخلٌج زاٌد الزٌانً ،كشف خالل المؤتمر السنوي للشركة إن طٌران الخلٌج وقعت 3اتفاقٌات لوجهات جدٌدة سٌتم اإلعالن عنها قرٌباً ،مشٌراً حٌنها إلى تقدم المفاوضات مع الجهات المعنٌة فً سورٌا من أجل تشغٌل خط طٌران ،دون التوصل إلى صٌغة نهائٌة فً الوقت الراهن.

1 Qatar Airways Wants More Indian Flight Rights Following Jet Airlines Collapse In the aftermath of the Jet Airways collapse, Qatar Airways is seeking temporary additional seat capacity for flights from Doha to India. According to an article by the Press Trust of India(PTI) the airline has said it will be considering any proposal for partnership from Indian carriers. This news comes after a meeting was held on Friday between Civil aviation secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola and top airline CEOs. The aim of the meeting was to discuss reallocation of unused foreign rights of Jet Airways. Qatar Airways is seeking a partnership with an Indian airline and is asking for proposals. The request will ―help evacuate the stranded Indian passengers in Doha‖. According to PTI, the allocated seat capacity in the Qatar-India aviation market has not been increased for nine years. Negotiations for bilateral air traffic rights between the two countries last took place in 2009. Qatar Airways made the following statement to the PTI: ―Qatar Airways is always open for partnership with other airlines, including Indian carriers. We will seriously consider any proposal for partnership from Indian carriers.‖

2 The blockade effect The blockade by Gulf neighbors has had an impact for Qatar Airways flights to major Indian cities. This has resulted in the withdrawal of a number of flights and a reduction in capacity of others. The Qatar Airways flights that do still operate consume more fuel than Indian flights. In fact, they must fly inefficient routes around the airspace of the blockade countries. However, codeshare flights could be operated by an Indian carrier and thus have permission to fly over the blockade nations. In the examples below we compare an Indigo flight to Qatar Airways to illustrate the different routing Qatar Airways must make due to the blockade.

3 According to News18.com, demand made by SpiceJet and IndiGo are similar to each other as both of the carriers want more seat quota on the India-Gulf sector. Indians in Qatar In fact, this issue is important for Qataris with business in India. Indian businessmen, foreign workers, and students living or studying abroad in Doha suffer as well. The main consequences are less availability and higher airfares. The Qatar Airways statement also said: ―All these have resulted not only in lesser available seat capacity but also significantly higher air ticket fares, which is set to continue for at least another three months.‖ According to an April 2018 article by the Gulf Times, the number of Indians living in Qatar is near 700,000. The total population of the Middle East nation is just 2.64 million. This means over 25% of the country’s population consists of Indian nationals. Speaking at a public event, P Kumaran, the Indian ambassador to Qatar said: ―We are the largest expatriate community in Qatar with the number of Indians reaching 691,000 as of now. 1 US Warns Passenger Flights Over Persian Gulf Could Face Risk On Thursday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) made a warning to all ―U.S. air carriers and commercial operators‖ to exercise caution when flying in the airspace over the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. The warning states that civilian aircraft face a higher risk due to escalating political tensions in the region. The FAA warns that civilian aircraft are at higher risk because of the escalating political tensions in the region. Photo: pxhereThe official notice made by the FAA was KICZ A0015/19-SECURITY and titled ―UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ADVISORY FOR OVERWATER AIRSPACE ABOVE THE PERSIAN GULF AND GULF OF OMAN”. The advisory went into more specific detail about the areas by saying: Potentially affected overwater space above the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman includes portions of the Tehran FIR (OIXX), Baghdad FIR (ORBB), Kuwait FIR (OKAC), Jeddah FIR (OEJD), Bahrain FIR (OBBB), Emirates FIR (OMAE) and Muscat FIR (OOMM). FIR stands for flight information region and is set by international agreement via the ICAO – or International Civil Aviation Organization. According to Wikipedia, every portion of the sky belongs to a specific FIR. As there is no standard size for an FIR, the airspace of a smaller country may be a single FIR while a larger country’s airspace may subdivide into multiple regional FIRs.

2 The FAA advisory also said aircraft flying over the region could experience “inadvertent GPS interference and other communications jamming, which could occur with little to no warning”. Tensions with Iran While the warning cites ―increased political tensions in the region‖ without naming any specific nation, it comes at a time when tensions between the United States and Iran are more intense than they have been for some time. The U.S. has already sent additional warships and planes to the Middle East following alleged threats from Iran. Tensions have been growing between the two nations since President Trump withdrew from the 2015 international deal. The deal was a plan to ease sanctions in exchange for ending Iran’s nuclear programme. The warning comes from the United States Federal Aviation Administration. The closest thing found was a previous route between Atlanta and Dubai flown by Delta airlines. However, according to Arabian Business, the flight from Atlanta to Dubai was stopped in 2016 due to allegations of unfair competition with the UAE’s carriers. Delta once operated a Atlanta to Dubai flight which ended in 2016. Photo: DeltaThis warning is especially relevant in the wake of the 2014 downing of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17. The Boeing 777 made contact with a surface-to-air missile. The missile came from ―pro-Russian separatist territory‖ in Ukraine. 283 passengers and 15 crew lost their lives.

3 Airliner shootdown incidents are extremely rare, but have happened on several occasions throughout history. Previous to MH17, a Korean Airlines 747 was shot down by a Soviet fighter in 1983. The result was the deaths of the 269 passengers and crew on board. This news comes just as Syria is reopening its airspace to commercial aircraft. In April we reported that Qatar Airways is again flying routes through Syrian airspace despite the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) extending the validity of a conflict zone warning for Syria to October 25th 2019.

Flights to Tenerife, Belfast and Milan were among 87 cancelled, while others were delayed by hours. Passengers said they were stuck on grounded planes for two to three hours because of the problems, which began on Sunday afternoon. A Manchester Airport spokesperson said the issue had been resolved at 03:00 BST. They said "most scheduled flights" would operate as planned on Monday. "However, we expect that there will be a small number of delays and cancellations as a result of the issues experienced." The airport said engineers had "resolved the power issue which affected the fuel supply" and advised passengers to check the status of their flight with the airline. Of the 87 flights cancelled on Sunday, 42 were arrivals and 45 were departures.

INDIA Updated: May 20, 2019 08:10 IST HT Correspondent Hindustan Times, Mumbai An AI spokesperson said the Mumbai-New York flight, operated thrice a week, was temporarily suspended in February owing to the Pakistan airspace closure and was expected to resume in June. (PTI FILE) National carrier Air India, which had commenced direct services from Mumbai to New York’s John F Kennedy airport in December 2018, has decided to discontinue the flights, reportedly owing to poor demand. AI officials said the Mumbai-New York flight operation was causing losses to the airline. However, the airline will continue to operate direct flights from Mumbai to Newark. An AI spokesperson said the Mumbai-New York flight, operated thrice a week, was temporarily suspended in February owing to the Pakistan airspace closure and was expected to resume in June.

2 “However, we won’t be resuming the services. The flight has been discontinued owing to poor load factor or low seat occupancy,” the spokesperson said. The official said AI has not included the flight in their winter schedule, which usually commences from third week of October up to second week of March in the next year. Other AI flight operations to the US from Delhi have been witnessing up to 80% seat occupancy. AI operates Boeing B777-ER aircraft to operate flights to Newark, Washington, Chicago (from Hyderabad via Delhi), San Francisco and New York from Delhi. The national carrier had planned to commence the direct flight from Mumbai to New York, thrice a week, from October 2018. However, it had to delay the operations to December owing to fleet crunch. Meanwhile, the flying time of US-bound flights from Delhi has seen an increase by three hours as they are being re-routed via Mumbai or Ahmedabad. This has led to heavy losses for the airline, said AI officers. Air India has 16 Boeing B777-ER planes, of which four were grounded because of unavailability of spare parts in October. However, according to AI chairman and managing director (CMD), Ashwani Lohani, all the planes are operational now. In October, AI had re- launched its other direct Mumbai-Frankfurt flight, which was suspended in 2010.

1 Vietnam’s Bamboo Airways Increases Flights to Taiwan Vietnam’s Bamboo Airways is adding another flight between Vietnam and Taiwan in time for the busy summer travel season. The Vietnamese carrier that started operating in January of this year will launch non-stop flights between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and the popular tourist destination of Ha Long Bay in Vietnam on June 29, via the country’s new Van Don International Airport. Round-trips will be operated every five days between the two destinations utilizing Bamboo’s Airbus fleet fitted with business and economy class cabins. Ha Long’s Van Don International Airport opened on Dec. 30, 2018, and is Vietnam’s newest airport and first privately-owned airport owned by Vietnam’s Sun Group. The airport serves Vietnam’s famous Ha Long Bay, a famous tourist destination and UNESCO World Heritage site. 2 According to Bamboo Airways, the airline is aiming at offering flights on up to 40 domestic and international routes, increasing the frequency of daily flights to 100 per day. This year alone, the airline aims to serve 5 million passengers.
