قررت شركة مصر للطٌران ،برئاسة الطٌار أحمد عادل ،رئٌس الشركة القابضة لمصر للطٌران ،زٌادة رحالتها الجوٌة اعتبارا من شهر ٌونٌو المقبل ٌذكر أن شركة مصر للطٌران إلى عاصمة كندا تورنتو من 3إلى 6رحالت أسبوع ًٌا ً وإٌركندا عضوان فً تحالف "ستار" العالمً وتربطهما اتفاقٌة مشاركة بالرمز ،كما وقعت الشركة الوطنٌة مصر للطٌران اتفاقٌة مع شركة إٌرباص العالمٌة لشراء 12طائرة من طراز A220-300إنتاج مصنع شركة إٌرباص العالمٌة بمدٌنة مٌرابٌل بمقاطعة كٌبك الكندٌة ،تسلمت الشركة منهم 8طائرات حتى اآلن ،وذلك ضمن خطة تحدٌث أسطولها الجوى ،وتم مناقشة سبل تنشٌط الحركة السٌاحٌة الوافدة من كندا إلى المدن السٌاحٌة المصرٌة. "الغوص واألنشطة البحرٌة" 15 :ألف جنٌه غرامة على استخدام أكٌاس البالستٌك وتتمٌز تلك الطرازات بالعدٌد من اإلمكانٌات ومستوى عال من الرفاهٌة ،بإضافة إلى أنها مزودة بخدمات اإلنترنت " "Wi-Fiوالتً ٌمكن للعمالء استخدامها من خالل فتح خدمة اإلنترنت بأسعار تبدأ من 2دوالر ،كما أن الطائرة مزودة بخدمة الـ " "Video Streamingوالتً تسمح للعمالء بمشاهدة العدٌد من المواد الترفٌهٌة عبر هواتفهم المحمولة أو أجهزة الحاسب اآللً أو األجهزة اللوحٌة "Tablets". وتحتوي الطائرة الجدٌدة لشركة مصر للطٌران على 140مقعدًا ،تشمل 15مقعدًا فً درجة رجال األعمال ،و 125فً الدرجة السٌاحٌة ،ما ٌوفر لكل مسافر أكبر قدر من الراحة ،وتتمٌز بكفاءتها العالٌة فً استهالك الوقود ،والراحة الكبٌرة التً ٌوفرها البدن الواسع ضمن فئة الطائرات ذات الممر الواحد. من الجدٌر بالذكر أن هذا الطراز ٌجمع بٌن أحدث التقنٌات المتقدمة لتوفٌر دٌنامٌكٌة هوائٌة عالٌة ،والمواد عالٌة الجودة ،باإلضافة إلى أحدث محركات توربوفان من شركة "برات آند وٌتنً" من طراز "" ،PW1500Gإذ تعمل هذه المحركات على استهالك وقود بنسبة % 20أقل لكل مقعد مقارنة بطائرات الجٌل السابق ،لتوفر بذلك أدا ًء ٌضاهً أداء الطائرات ذات الممر الواحد التً تكبرها حج ًما.

جراء الثلوج إغالق المدارس وتأخٌر رحالت طٌران فً طهران ّ
غطت ثلوج كثٌفة شوارع طهران األحد ما تسبب بتأجٌل عدد من رحالت الطٌران وإغالق المدارس ،وفق ما أفادت السلطات فً العاصمة اإلٌرانٌة. وأفاد مراسلو وكالة فرانس برس أن الثلوج بدأت تتساقط فً وقت مبكر األحد وتسببت باضطراب حركة السٌر فً بعض الطرق الرئٌسٌة السرٌعة فً المدٌنة. وقال رئٌس شرطة المرور فً طهران محمد رضا مهمندار للتلفزٌون الرسمً "علمنا أن الثلوج ستتساقط منذ اللٌلة الماضٌة وٌؤثر ذلك بطبٌعته على حركة السٌر". وأضاف "كان هناك بعض الجلٌد على بعض الطرق السرٌعة شمال (طهران) وتمت االستجابة سرٌ ًعا إلى الحوادث". وأُغلقت المدارس فً جمٌع أحٌاء مدٌنة طهران وبعض أجزاء المحافظة فً الصباح وبعد الظهر بسبب التساقط الكثٌف للثلوج. وتسببت الثلوج بتأخٌر رحالت جوٌة من وإلى مطار مهرآباد الدولً فً طهران لساعات طوٌلة. وقال المتحدث باسم هٌئة الطٌران اإلٌرانٌة رضا جعفر زاده "ستستمر الرحالت فً مهرآباد لكن مع بعض التأخٌرات بسبب غٌاب الرؤٌة الواضحة". لكنه أشار إلى أن الرحالت ال تزال على موعدها فً مطار اإلمام خمٌنً الدولً فً طهران كذلك. وٌتوقع أن تتواصل الثلوج حتى االثنٌن فً طهران وغٌرها من المحافظات الشمالٌة.

EgyptAir receives eighth Airbus A220-300 aircraft
EgyptAir received its eighth Airbus A220-300 aircraft on 18 January 2020. The new aircraft joins the company fleet as part of a deal with Airbus to purchase 12 aircraft of the same family by June 2020. The new A220-300 has a two-class cabin with 140-seats including 15 premium and 125 economy class seats.

Udvar-Hazy: Boeing should rename „damaged‟ 737 Max Air Lease executive chairman Steven Udvar-Hazy believe Boeing should drop the word “Max” from the name of its latest Boeing 737 family, following two fatal crashes and the subsequent grounding. “We‟ve asked Boeing to get rid of that word Max,” Udvar-Hazy said at the Airline Economics Growth Frontiers conference in Dublin today. “There‟s no reason why Boeing can‟t call it a 737-8 , 737-9, 737-7.” He adds: “The Max brand is damaged and there‟s no reference to Max in any of the documentation that Boeing submitted to the regulators, it‟s just the 737.” Calling the Max grounding a crisis “unprecedented in my 50 years in aviation”, Udvar-Hazy notes that it remains unclear when the Max will be approved by regulators to return to service, although he is hopeful that it could be within the next 90 days, albeit that “it almost feels like every week there are new developments that cause us to be concerned about the timeliness of return to service”. Once the Max does return to the skies, passengers may be hesitant to fly on the aircraft, Udvar-Hazy suggests – a factor likely to vary from market to market. Renaming the aircraft could help to overcome some of these fears, he argues. Boeing will likely deliver around 50-60 Max jets per month once it is given the allclear, including new-builds and aircraft from storage, he expects. This number, in his view, is low enough to avoid flooding the market with new capacity and driving down aircraft valuations. Air Lease has 42 Max aircraft, 15 of which were delivered prior to the grounding. The remaining 27 aircraft have been built for Air Lease customers since the grounding but remain undelivered. In total, this represents over $2 billion-worth of aircraft that are not able to fly. A further 15 Max jets are scheduled for delivery to Air Lease customers this year. Udvar-Hazy adds that while lease rates for the Max have been damaged by the grounding, values will likely return to normal by around 2021. “When we signed our [Max] leases rates before the accidents, they were running generally 10-15% higher than the aircraft they were replacing [Airbus A320s and 737NGs],” he explains. “No question there‟ll be a temporary dip on the lease-rate values,” he adds, although Airbus is unable to supply all the new capacity that the market requires, which will support lease valuations in the longer term

Struggling SAA insists flight operations are continuing South African Airways is maintaining operations for the time being, despite apparent increasing uncertainty over the ailing flag-carrier‟s financing. The airline says it is “aware” of local media reports suggesting the airline is on the verge of ceasing operations. But it insists that flights to all destinations “continue as normal”. Johannesburg airport‟s arrivals and departure information shows SAA services operating. It acknowledges that the network might be subject to “amendments” to the flight schedule. But SAA says it is “committed” to communicating “transparently” with its various stakeholders – including its customers – over the airline‟s situation, particularly regarding significant operational changes. SAA, which is undergoing a business rescue process, had been due to receive R2 billion in funding from the South African government as well as a furhter R2 billion from lenders. But the status of this funding programme is unclear. Local media reports indicate that intense discussions have taken place over 18-19 January with respect to the carrier‟s funding. South African president Cyril Ramaphosa insists that a capable nation must have state-owned companies which fulfil mandates “effectively”. Ramaphosa says that companies that “require continual bail-outs – such as SAA – diminish the capacity of the state”. “That is why a major focus of our work this year is to restore our [state-owned enterprises] to health,” he says, in a statement on 20 January. “We will do this by appointing experienced and qualified boards and managers. We will be clarifying their mandates, and give them scope to execute those mandates.”

Air Greenland opts for A330-800 to modernise fleet Air Greenland has tentatively agreed to take a single Airbus A330-800 to replace the carrier‟s ageing A330-200. The 305-seat aircraft – currently the subject of a memorandum of understanding, according to Airbus – is set to be delivered in 2021. It will mark a powerplant switch for the airline, because its 22-year old A330 is fitted with Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines while the A330-800 will have Rolls-Royce Trent 7000s. Air Greenland will use the aircraft to serve not only its trunk route between Copenhagen and the capital Nuuk, but also the new airport at Ilulissat from 2023. “The acquisition is Air Greenland‟s largest investment ever and shall ensure that the airline is competitive in the future,” says the carrier. Chairman Kjeld Zacho Jorgensen says the development will “unlock Greenland in a whole new way” by increasing tourism. The fleet modernisation follows the divestment of Scandinavian carrier SAS‟s shareholding in the airline last year, while placed the ownership entirely with the Greenlandic government. Greenland premier Kim Kielsen says the investment decision by the carrier is “extremely positive”. Airbus has seen only mild interest in the A330-800, with the larger -900 by far the more popular A330neo variant, but has been hoping to capitalise on a replacement wave for older A330-200s. Air Greenland‟s commercial air transport fleet also includes regional Bombardier Dash 8 turboprops. It has just taken delivery of the first of two Airbus Helicopters H225s which are being configured for search and rescue work. The carrier operates a number of helicopter types including H125s and Sikorsky S-61s.

KLM buys Jet Airways' Dutch assets, including stranded B777 KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) has agreed to acquire the Dutch assets of bankrupt Jet Airways (9W, Mumbai Int'l), including a B777300(ER) seized at Amsterdam Schiphol over unpaid debts, as well as slots at the airport. "[Jet Airways] and a Dutch Trustee entered into a conditional sale & purchase agreement with Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V., on January 13, 2020, for the proposed resolution of business activities of the Company in the Netherlands as approved by the Committee of Creditors. The proposed resolution is subject to the completion of several conditions including statutory and regulatory clearances, both under Indian law and Dutch laws," Jet Airways' Resolution Professional Ashish Chhawchharia said in a stock market filing. The Boeing widebody, VT-JEW (msn 35164), has been stored at Amsterdam Schiphol airport since April 10, 2019, after being impounded by cargo handler Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) citing Jet's unpaid debts. KLM told Dutch online news website NU.nl that it will decide whether to induct the B777 into its own fleet or sell it after it has carried out the necessary checks. The Dutch flag carrier operates fourteen B777-300(ER)s, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows. While the transaction covers airport slots at Amsterdam's notoriously congested Schipol hub airport, it will have to be confirmed by the Dutch airport slot coordinator, Airport Coordination Netherlands (ACNL). The Indian airline operated 4x daily to Amsterdam using three of its own slot pairs and one leased from KLM, its former commercial partner. KLM said that it also acquired Jet Airways' office space in the Netherlands. The value of the transaction was not disclosed but India's Business Standard daily cited sources saying it could fetch USD23 million for the creditors. Jet's insolvency proceedings in the Netherlands are separate from its ongoing liquidation in India, where two prospective bidders - Synergy Aerospace and Prudent Asset Reconstruction Company - recently submitted Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to acquire the defunct airline. Jet Airways continues to own a further six B777-300(ER)s. The aircraft are subject to a dispute with EXIM Bank (United States of America) which helped finance their acquisition. Air India to transfer B747s to Alliance Air - report
Air India (AI, Mumbai Int'l) will likely transfer the ownership of four B747-400s, used for VIP transport, to its wholly-owned subsidiary Alliance Air (India) (9I, Mumbai Int'l) as a part of the state-owned carrier's ongoing privatisation process, CNBC TV18 has reported citing unnamed sources. The transaction is part of a broader cleanup of Air India's assets as the government readies the carrier for its latest disposal drive. Unlike in 2018 where there were no takers for a 74% stake in the heavily-indebted carrier, this latest round will see 100% of Air India being offered up for sale. According to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module, Alliance Air currently operates one ATR42-300 and eighteen ATR72-600s on domestic routes in India. The four B747-400s operated by Air India, which are between 23.2 and 26.2 years old, are used by the carrier on scheduled routes to Jeddah from Mumbai Int'l (via Hyderabad Int'l) and Kochi Int'l, the ch-aviation schedules module shows. They are available for the government when needed, although they are not equipped with a VIP seat configuration - each of them has 12 first class, 26 business class, and 385 economy class seats. Flightradar24 ADS-B data indicates that VT-ESP (msn 27214) and VT-EVB (msn 28095) are currently used to run scheduled operations, while VT-ESO (msn 27165) and VT-EVA (msn 28094) are in storage. In 2019, only the latter two units were used for VIP transport.

News Nigeria's Azman Air acquires first A340-600
Azman Air (ZQ, Kano) has announced it has acquired its first widebody jet to be used on international routes as well as Hajj and Umrah charters. In a statement, the Nigerian carrier said it had secured A340-600 2-EALJ (msn 765), formerly G-VYOU with Virgin Atlantic, from European Aviation for an unspecified sum. It did not disclose when delivery would take place. Azman Air operates an all-Boeing fleet entailing two B737-300s and four B737-500s. It currently serves the following Nigerian cities and towns: Lagos, Abuja, Asaba, Benin City, Birmin Kebbi, Gombe, Kaduna Int'l, Kano, Maiduguri, Owerri, and Port Harcourt Omagwa.
