تنظم شركة مصر للطٌران ،غدًا األربعاء ،رحلة استثنائٌة إلى جوهانسبرج لعودة المصرٌٌن العالقٌن ،بعد تفشً فٌروس كورونا المستجد. ومن المقرر أن تقلع الرحلة االستثنائٌة من مطار القاهرة بدون ركاب ،حٌث إن هذه الرحلة مخصصة لعودة المصرٌٌن العالقٌن بالخارج ،وذلك بالتنسٌق مع وزارات الطٌران المدنً والخارجٌة والهجرة ،وفقا للقواعد التً تم وضعها لتحدٌد الفئات العالقة من المصرٌٌن بالخارج وبشرط سداد قٌمة التذكرة ونفقات اإلقامة بالحجر الصحً لمدة ٌ 14وما ،وعلى أن تعود بالركاب المصرٌٌن العالقٌن إلى مطار مرسى علم. وتم تخصٌص عزل للمصرٌٌن القادمٌن من هناك لمدة ٌ 14وما ،وفق توصٌات وزارة الصحة للتأكد من خلوهم من عدوى اإلصابة بفٌروس كورونا بمرسى علم. تجدر اإلشارة إلى أنه الرحلة االستثنائٌة الٌركاٌرو قامت بإعادة 14٨راكبا مصرٌا من العالقٌن فً إندونسٌا وعمان الٌوم الثالثاء. وكانت وزارة الطٌران المدنً قد أعلنت عن تسٌٌر نحو 22رحلة طٌران استثنائٌة لعودة المصرٌٌن العالقٌن بالخارج حتً نهاٌة إبرٌل الجاري بالتنسٌق مع وزارتً الخارجٌة والهجرة ،فً ظل تعلٌق حركة الطٌران إلى المطارات المصرٌة منذ منتصف مارس الماضً ،بسبب تفشً فٌروس كورونا المستجد.

تسٌر غدا األربعاء ،شركة مصر للطٌران الناقل الوطنى المصرى رحلة إستثنائٌة إلى جوهانسبرج بجنوب إفرٌقٌا ثم تعود إلى مطار مرسى علم كما تسٌر شركة إٌر كاٌروا التابعة لوزارة الطٌران رحلتٌن لعودة العالقٌن حٌث تغادر األولى إلى بارٌس وتعود إلى مرسى علم فى حٌن تغادر الرحلة الثانٌة إلى جزر المالدٌف مرورا بمدٌنة مسقط بسلطنة عمان ثم تعود إلى مطار مرسى علم ،وذلك بسبب تعلٌق رحالت الطٌران من وإلى المطارات المصرٌة ،فً ظل أزمة تفشً فٌروس كورونا المستجد. ٌذكر أنه تم تخصٌص حجر صحً هناك بأحد الفنادق بمدٌنة مرسى علم لعزل المصرٌٌن العائدٌن من الخارج لمدة ٌ 14وما ،وذلك تنفٌذا لقرار وزارة الصحة المصرٌة حٌال جمٌع الركاب المصرٌٌن العالقٌن بدول الخارج ،للتأكد من عدم إصابتهم بفٌروس كورونا المستجد. كما أعلنت وزارة الطٌران المدنى عن تسٌٌر نحو 22رحلة طٌران استثنائٌة لعودة المصرٌٌن العالقٌن بالخارج حتى نهاٌة أبرٌل الجاري ،بالتنسٌق مع وزارتً الهجرة والخارجٌة ،فً ظل تعلٌق حركة الطٌران إلى المطارات المصرٌة ،منذ منتصف مارس الماضً ،بسبب فٌروس كورونا المستجد. كانت سلطة الطٌران المدنى ،أعلنت توقف حركة الطٌران المدنً بمصر ،سواء القادم أو المغادر من المطارات المصرٌة منذ 19مارس الماضً ،واستثنى الخطاب 5 حاالت من التعلٌق ،منها رحالت الشحن الجوي ،ورحالت الشارتر لتتمكن من عودة األفواج السٌاحٌة بعد انتهاء برامجهم دون استقدام أفواج جدٌدة ،ورحالت اإلسعاف الدولٌة والرحالت الداخلٌة داخل الدولة. االدارة العامة للعالقات العامة والمراسم قطاع االمانة العامة بالشركة القابضة لمصر للطٌران

الخطوط الجوٌة البرٌطانٌة تخطط لالستغناء عن 12ألف وظٌفة بسبب خسائر كورونا كتب :رباب فتحى
أعلنت الخطوط الجوٌة البرٌطانٌة ،خطة إعادة الهٌكلة التى ٌمكن أن تؤدى إلى اآلالف من عملٌات التسرٌح الدائمة .وتقول شركة الطٌران إنها تخطر نقاباتها رسمٌا ً بالخطة" ،التى ستؤثر على معظم موظفى الخطوط الجوٌة البرٌطانٌة وقد تؤدى إلى تسرٌح ما ٌصل إلى 12000منهم".
وقد قامت شركة الخطوط الجوٌة البرٌطانٌة بالفعل بمنح 22،626موظ ًفا إجازة مؤقتة فى أبرٌل كجزء من خطة االحتفاظ التابعة لحكومة المملكة المتحدة. جاء هذا اإلعالن فى الوقت الذى أعلنت فٌه الشركة األم IAGعن نتائج الربع ضا فى إجمالى اإلٌرادات ضا ،Iberiaانخفا ً األول ،وشهدت ،IAGالتى تمتلك أٌ ً بنسبة %13فى الربع األول. وحذرت شركة الطٌران من أن الخسائر فى الربع الثانى ستكون "أسوأ بكثٌر" بسبب ضا إنها تتوقع أن "ٌستغرق عودة الركاب إلى مستوٌات الفٌروس التاجً ،وقالت أٌ ً 2019عدة سنوات".

وقالت صحٌفة "اإلندبندنت" البرٌطانٌة ،إن شركة الطٌران خفضت %94من رحالتها ،وخسرت الشركة األم ،IAGما ٌقرب من نصف ملٌار جنٌه فى األشهر الثالثة األولى من عام ، 2019مع توقع خسائر فادحة فى الربع الثانى. ونتٌجة لذلك ،بدأت الخطوط الجوٌة البرٌطانٌة فى التشاور مع النقابات التى تمثل الطٌارٌن وطاقم الطائرة والموظفٌن فى األرض بشأن االستغناء عن ما ٌقرب من 30 فى المائة من الموظفٌن. ٌشٌر حجم االستغناءات المقترحة إلى أن الخطوط الجوٌة البرٌطانٌة تعتزم تقلٌص جدول رحالتها بمقدار الربع. من المرجح أن تكون التخفٌضات أكثر جوهرٌة فى جاتوٌك من القاعدة الرئٌسٌة للخطوط الجوٌة البرٌطانٌة فى هٌثرو. وقال ألٌكس كرو ،الرئٌس التنفٌذى لشركة الخطوط الجوٌة البرٌطانٌة ورئٌس مجلس إدارتها" :ما نواجهه كشركة طٌران ،مثل العدٌد من الشركات األخرى فى أعلى وأسفل البالد ،هو أنه لم ٌعد هناك "عادي" بعد اآلن جدول رحالتنا المحدود ٌعنى أن اإلٌرادات ال تدخل فى أعمالنا فى األسابٌع القلٌلة الماضٌة ،ازدادت التوقعات لصناعة الطٌران سو ًءا وٌجب علٌنا اتخاذ إجراءات اآلن نحن شركة قوٌة و ُمدارة جٌدًا واجهت وتغلبت على العدٌد من األزمات خالل 100عام ٌجب علٌنا التغلب على ضا". هذه األزمة بأنفسنا أٌ ً

«إٌاتا» :انخفاض طاقة قطاع الشحن الجوي عن حجم الطلب الفعلً لم تعد لدى شركات الطٌران فً العالم ،الطاقة التشغٌلٌة الكافٌة لتلبٌة الطلب العالمً على الشحن الجوي ،مع وقف أساطٌل الطائرات عن العمل بسبب تداعٌات جائحة فٌروس كورونا المستجد ،وفقا لما أعلنه االتحاد الدولً للنقل الجوي "إٌاتا". وأشار االتحاد الموجود مقره فً جنٌف ،إلى أنه فً حٌن تراجع الطلب على الشحن الجوي بأكثر من 15فً المائة سنوٌا ،تراجعت الطاقة التشغٌلٌة للشحن الجوي بنسبة 23فً المائة خالل الشهر نفسه. وقال ألكسندر دي جونٌاك "إنه ٌجب عالج هذه الفجوة بسرعة ،ألنه ٌجب وصول اإلمدادات الحٌوٌة إلى األماكن المطلوبة" .وفً حٌن بدأت شركات الطٌران تعدٌل طائرات الركاب لتصبح طائرات شحن ،دعا االتحاد الحكومات إلى إزالة القٌود البٌروقراطٌة المفروضة على رحالت الطٌران العارض وإعفاء أطقم طائرات الشحن من قواعد الحجر الصحً .وحذر االتحاد الدولً للنقل الجوي من أن النقص الحالً فً الطاقة التشغٌلٌة لقطاع الشحن الجوي سٌكون قصٌر المدى ،نظرا إلى أنه من المتوقع أن ٌوجه الركود االقتصادي العالمً ضربات جدٌدة إلى قطاعات الصناعات التحوٌلٌة فً العالم وبالتالً إلى الطلب على النقل الجوي.

"اإلٌاتا" :نوفمبر المقبل موعد الجمعٌة العمومٌة الـ 76بهولندا كتب -محمد عبٌد: أعلن االتحاد الدولً للنقل الجوي "اإلٌاتا" ،عقد اجتماع الجمعٌة العامة السنوي رقم ،AGM)(76والقمة العالمٌة للنقل الجوي فً أمستردام بهولنداٌ ،ومً 24-23 نوفمبر المقبل ،بعد تأجٌله بسبب انتشار فٌروس كورونا المستجد.

Southwest plans for recession after $900 million cash burn Southwest Airlines paired its 28 April disclosure of a first-quarter net loss of $94 million and a cash burn of $900 million in April with the announcement of additional liquidity enhancements, as it looks ahead to a near-term environment virtually devoid of travel demand.
Looking back a year, when a coronavirus pandemic was merely a scenario predicted by epidemiologists and ignored globally by nearly everyone else, Southwest had a net profit of $387 million in the first quarter of 2019. The Dallas-based airline’s net operating profit after tax was $1.9 billion for the 12 months ended 31 March 2020,

compared to $2.5 billion for the 12 months ended 31 March 2019. Total operating revenue for the first quarter decreased 17.8% year-over-year, mostly because of a sharp decline in passenger demand and last-minute trip cancellations beginning in late February. A Southwest Boeing 737 Max 8 Revenue per available seat mile (RASM) in the first quarter dropped 11.8% compared to the first quarter of 2019. Non-fuel unit costs (CASM ex-fuel) were up 5.1% year-over-year. Southwest’s net cash burn in April of $900 million, not including working capital changes, reset the airline’s sights on liquidity enhancements and cost cutting. “We can’t continue on at that pace,” Southwest chief executive Gary Kelly said about cash burn during the 28 April earnings call. Southwest estimates its second-quarter average core cash burn will be in the range of $30-35 million per day. This includes cash outflows, capital expenditures and debt service, but excludes the impact from cash sales,

refunds and proceeds from financing transactions and the US CARES Act payroll support programme. Southwest’s strong balance sheet heading into the coronavirus pandemic will help it in its pursuit of liquidity. Now that Delta Air Lines has been downgraded, Southwest is the sole US carrier to lay claim to an investment-grade rating from Fitch Ratings. On 16 March, Southwest enhanced its liquidity with a $1 billion term loan from a syndicate of banks. On 30 March, the company amended the size of the loan, adding $2.3 billion, and drew down the full amount of the loan, which matures March 2021. On 28 April, Southwest improved its liquidity position through a common stock offering and a $1 billion convertible bond. Southwest will apply this week to the US Treasury for $2.8 billion in funds through the CARES Act’s loan programme, and will have until 30 September to commit to accessing the five-year senior secured-term loan should it be awarded to the airline. “That’ll give us time to evaluate other financing options,” Kelly says. “The thing about the loan programme is it carries a lot of conditions. dividends during the time the loan is outstanding, plus a year. We can’t do any share repurchases.” Chief financial officer Tammy Romo adds that the terms for the CARES Act loan programme are reasonable overall. “It’s attractive that the loan is pre-payable at any time. It gives us a lot of options and it’s certainly a wonderful backstop to have.” Southwest has already been awarded $3.3 billion in payroll support funds through the CARES Act; this comprises a direct grant of $2.3 billion and an unsecured 10-year low-interest loan of nearly $1 billion. The airline ended the first quarter with liquidity exceeding $9 billion. FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS, CAPACITY CUTS, STORED JETS On 16 March, about three weeks after Southwest began to see the beginnings of a spike in flight cancellations, the airline completed 3,912 flights and cancelled 79 flights, Cirium schedules data shows. On 30 March, Southwest completed 2,073 flights and cancelled 1,912 flights, and on 24 April it completed 1,222 flights and cancelled 1,497 flights.

By 1 April, Southwest had deepened its March capacity cuts to 40% for travel between 3 May and 5 June. Capacity is expected to be down overall in the second quarter by at least 60%. As of 23 January, Southwest had 709 Boeing aircraft in service and 37 Boeing aircraft in storage, 34 of which were 737 Max jets, Cirium fleets data shows. As flight cancellations escalated, Southwest moved 106 737NG aircraft into long-term storage; the aircraft were selected based on their age and the proximity to an upcoming heavy maintenance requirement. “For those aircraft in long-term storage it will take a minimum of three or four days to bring each of those aircraft current with respect to their maintenance programmes before they can be reintroduced into the active fleet,” said chief operating officer Michael Van de Ven during the call. Southwest is keeping approximately 250 737NG aircraft in a short-term parking programme in which the aircraft rotate in and out of active flying. “These aircraft do remain part of the active fleet and are more costeffective in terms of storage costs,” Van de Ven says.

FEAR OF FLYING There is always the possibility the pandemic abates enough this summer to ease travellers’ concerns over sitting in airports and on planes. Kelly hopes this will be the case and that Southwest’s liquidity enhancements, capacity and spending cuts, fleet strategy and voluntary employee furloughs and pay cuts will suffice. Hope aside, Kelly is planning for a recession that will depress business travel demand for a least five years and drain leisure travellers of disposable income. “This recession has already put tens of millions of Americans out of work, and consumer sentiment has been severely damaged.” If demand does not show promise by this summer then he foresees a smaller airline. “We’ve got a commitment through September 30 with the payroll support programme of the CARES Act to not involuntarily downsize the airline,” Kelly said. “If things don’t improve we’ll have to do something after that.” Southwest did see a “very gradual improvement” in demand in the second and third weeks of April. “Right now, the bias is toward shrinking the airline

some, not radically,” Kelly said. “Hopefully, we won’t have to face that scenario but, if we do, we’ll have a plan.” In either case, Kelly believes that as the pandemic winds its way toward its eventual end, airlines that offer the lowest fares will win the day. “Every traveller will demand a low fare. That’s our business model.”

Air India Bid Deadline Extended Until Late June bySyd Sharma In light of current circumstances, the government of India has extended the deadline for bids for Air India. The new date, June 30th, gives potential bidders two more months to submit an offer for the state-run carrier. The government is hoping to fully privatize Air India.
The government’s decision hardly comes as a surprise considering the current conditions. However, this could be the first of many extensions as companies and airlines deal with heavy financial losses. Many potential bidders for the airline, such as the Tata Group (majority owners of Vistara and AirAsia India) and Hinduja Group, will likely wait for their financial situations to improve before such a purchase. The Tata Group, which owns a majority of Vistara and

AirAsia, is considering a bid for Air India.
The coronavirus has forced carriers around the world into survival mode, including Air India. The airline has struggled to pay salaries and is hoping for a government bailout in order to remain afloat. With other airlines in similar situations, it seems unlikely any airline will be looking to buy Air India right now, or even in the coming years. An important question to ask in this difficult time for this industry is how lucrative Air India is. The Air India sale comes with a $3.07bn string attached to it, which is a percentage of the airline’s debt. This is in addition to its very large staff, outdated cabins, and maintenance issues. However, the airline does have a fleet of 128 aircraft (excluding subsidiaries), a majority of which it owns, and valuable slots at airports like Heathrow.

Bidders might be rethinking any investments in the aviation industry. The questions bidders will have to ask themselves is how valuable planes and slots are in a time when demand is nonexistent. Even though India is in desperate need of a new international carrier, the coming months will tell us how soon the aviation market in India, and globally, will rebound. Overll The coronavirus has undoubtedly put any large aviation deal in jeopardy. Just this week we saw Boeing terminate its deal with Embraer, and previously saw LOT Polish airlines pull out of its purchase of Condor. Even Jet Airways has likely lost any hope of restarting in these tumultuous times. While Air India is in a much better position than other airlines, primarily due to its backing from the Indian government, the coronavirus does change the calculus of any potential deal. The coming months could see more extensions, as airlines recover from the current shock. We may also see deeppocketed firms picking up the airline while competition is low and capitalize on this opportunity. With the aviation industry still grounded, only time will tell us how the demand for large airline purchases will recover.

Etihad Delivers 14 Tons Of Aid To Pakistan byJay Singh On April 28th, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) sent 14 tons of medical and food supplies to Pakistan. According to the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, Pakistan has 14,612 cases of the virus, with 312 deaths. Not just in Pakistan, but around the world, countries with a rising number of cases are relying on the shipment of supplies around the world. This includes medical aid from masks, gloves, other personal protective equipment to ventilators. To get these supplies from the UAE to Pakistan, the country relied on flag carrier, Etihad, to transport the goods. While most of Etihad’s fleet is not in commercial operation, some planes are still flying. The global coronavirus pandemic has left Etihad struggling to find sources of revenue. For now, the airline is looking at resuming flights from the middle of next month. In the meantime, however, the carrier is flying some repatriation flights and aid flights like this. suspensions extended through mid-May. This is in an effort to contain the virus and keep infected persons from bringing additional cases to the country. In spite of this, Pakistan has been conducting repatriation flights. It is, however, unclear if there were any Pakistani citizens onboard the Etihad 777. This would help explain why such a large jet was chartered to conduct the flight. The aircraft A6-ETQ is a six-year-old Boeing 777-300ER that is still in Etihad’s old livery. The aircraft flew into Islamabad from Abu Dhabi on April 28th, according to data from Flightradar24. After a few hours on the ground, the plane returned to its hub in the UAE. The aircraft that flew the aid was in the old livery. Photo: EtihadOnboard, the 777s have a bit outdated product. Do not expect a new cutting-edge business class like its competitor Qatar. But, the carrier has been focused on returning to profitability amid negative financial performance leaving retrofits out of the question. Although, with aircraft on the ground, the airline is conducting some maintenance, such as replacing seat covers. Etihad does have smaller aircraft that could have carried this cargo.

The 777 can carry far more cargo than the amount transported in this flight. However, there may have been other cargo aside from the aid onboard the aircraft. Or else, as mentioned before, perhaps there could have some repatriation passengers onboard. Back in February, before this crisis hit, Etihad signed an agreement to sell and leaseback some 777s in a bid to earn some cash.

Emirates SkyCargo dials up focus on safety for employees and operations With the rapid scaling up of its cargo network to close to 60 destinations across the world, Emirates SkyCargo is taking additional measures to ensure the safety of its employees and operations during the Covid-19 pandemic. Since March, Emirates SkyCargo has already established protocols for its teams around the world to practice protective measures including regular hand washing, practicing social distancing and wearing of equipment including masks and gloves. In addition to setting up thermal body temperature scanners at key locations at its hub in Dubai, the air cargo carrier has now also set up four sanitisation tunnels for employees and visitors to go through prior to entering the Emirates SkyCentral cargo terminal at Dubai International Airport. The tunnels utilise non-toxic sanitisers authorised by governing authorities to neutralise germs and viruses without causing any harm to the person passing through the tunnel. Emirates SkyCargo is also carrying out continuous disinfection of its cargo terminal- including the cargo

handling and storage areas as well as the customer reception centres and cargo drop off/ pickup zones to ensure the wellbeing of employees as well as its customers. Aircraft cargo holds and equipment including Unit Load Devices are also disinfected on a regular basis. Emirates SkyCargo is currently operating scheduled flights on its Boeing 777-F and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to close to 60 destinations worldwide. The carrier continues to uplift essential medical supplies including PPEs and pharmaceuticals on a daily basis across its network, connecting people to the cargo that they need the most.
