قال أمجد عز الدٌن ،مستشار وزٌر الطٌران المدنى ،إن سعر تذكرة الطٌران للحجاج هذا العام ،ارتفع إلى 6420جنٌه بدال من 5740جنٌه فى العام الماضى ،مرجعا سبب الزٌادة لوجود فارق بٌن قٌمة الجنٌه المصرى ،وقٌمة اللاير السعودى ،وارتفاع نسبة التضخم. وأضاف "عز الدٌن" خالل اجتماع اللجنة الدٌنٌة بمجلس النواب ،المنعقد اآلن ،لمناقشة االستعدادات لموسم الحج ،أن قٌمة التذكرة ارتفعت أٌضا لفرض السعودٌة ضرٌبة قٌمتها 230جنٌه على تذكرة كل حاج إلى جانب اشتراط السعودٌة هبوط طائرات ذات طرازات مرتفعة ،تتطلب صٌانة دورٌة ،وقطع غٌار ،وٌتم استٌرادها من الخارج بالعملة الصعبة.
وأكد مستشار وزٌر الطٌران قٌام الوزارة بدور وطنى فى نقل الحجٌج ،متغاضٌة عن الهامش االقتصادى ،ألنها تستطٌع استخدام طائرات تحقق لها ربحا فى نقل الحجٌج ،ولكنها تتخلى عن هذا الربح لصالح الوطن ،وقٌمة نقل الحجٌج المصرٌٌن إلى األراضى المقدسة. وتابع" :رحلة الطٌران للحج تكون مرتفعة ،وضعف التكلفة الخاصة بالرحالت األخرى ،ومع ذلك ٌؤخذ فى االعتبار أنها تكلفة حتمٌة ،ولٌست ربحٌة ،خاصة أن الطائرة تذهب محملة بالحجٌج وتعود بدون ركاب، والضرٌبة التى فرضتها المطارات السعودٌة فى العام الماضى 200جنٌه على الراكب ،والعام الحالى زادت إلى 400جنٌه" ،مؤكدا أن الزٌادة حتمٌة وتقدر بأكثر من 500جنٌه ،فرق التضخم منها نحو 200جنٌه ،فرق فى قٌمة الجنٌه واللاير السعودى ،مضٌفا" :نحن نتعامل مع الشرٌحة الكبرى للحجٌج". وقال مستشار وزٌر الطٌران المدنى ،إن فرٌضة الحج عظٌمة الثواب وكثٌرة المنافع ،وال ٌمر موسم دون أن ٌكون لقطاع الطٌران المدنى دور وطنى اجتماعى ،من خالل تجهٌزات المطارات والطائرات ،ونقل الحجٌج.

مصر للطٌران تلغى إقالع ووصول 18رحلة لتحقٌق الجدوى االقتصادٌة من التشغٌل
كتب محمد طنطاوى ألغت شركة مصر للطٌران الٌوم الجمعة ،إقالع ووصول 18رحلة داخلٌة وخارجٌة لتحقٌق الجدوى االقتصادٌة من التشغٌل. وأفاد مصدر مالحى ،أنه تم إلغاء قٌام الرحالت رقم ،673و 657المتجهتٌن إلى مدٌنة جدة ،باإلضافة إلى إلغاء إقالع الرحالت رقم 407و 391و 395والمتجهات إلى مدٌنة أسوان. وأوضح المصدر ،أنه تم إلغاء إقالع الرحالت رقم 639المتجهة إلى المدٌنة المنورة ،و 291المتجهة إلى شرم الشٌخ ،و 542المتجهة إلى اسطنبول. وفٌما ٌتعلق برحالت الوصول فقد قامت الشركة بإلغاء قٌام الرحالت رقم 658 ،674 ،644من جدة ،باإلضافة إلى إلغاء الرحالت رقم 412 ،418 ،396 ،392والقادمة من أسوان ،والرحلة رقم 640القادمة من المدٌنة المنورة ،والرحلة رقم 515القادمة من لوس أنجلوس. وأوضح المصدر ،أن هذه اإللغاءات مجدولة على فترات زمنٌة متباعدة ،وتم وقف الحجز علٌها منذ فترة وتم التبلٌغ بها فى حٌنه. وأشار إلى أن جمٌع شركات الطٌران فى العالم تجرى مثل هذه اإلجراءات لتحقٌق الجدوى االقتصادٌة من موضحا أن هناك عشرات الرحالت التى تتوجه لمعظم المدن التى تم إلغاء رحالت منها. الرحالت على مدار العام، ً نظرا النتهاء الموسم الخاص بكل وتابع المصدر ،إن األصل فى هذه الرحالت هو اإللغاء فى مثل هذه التوقٌتات ً رحلة ،وقال :إنه من غٌر المنطقى تشغٌل عشرات الرحالت ألسوان فى هذه الموجة الحارة والتى ٌعزف فٌها داع من تشغٌل عشرات الرحالت للسعودٌة بعد انتهاء موسم المواطن عن السفر إلٌها ،كما أنه لٌس هناك أى ٍ العمرة واستعداد الحجاج للسفر لألرضى المقدسة خالل أسابٌع.

جنوب سٌناء -فاٌزة مرسال قال حاتم شعبان رضوان ،مدٌر العالقات العامة بمطار شرم الشٌخ الدولى ،إن طائرة شركة مصر القادمة من الكوٌت والمتجهة لمطار القاهرة الدولى ،اضطرت للهبوط "Egypt Airللطٌران " إضطرارٌا فى مطار شرم الشٌخ ،نظرا لحدوث عطل بالمحرك. وأكد حاتم ،فى تصرٌح خاص لـ"لٌوم السابع" ،أن الطائرة كانت تحمل 313راكبا ،جمٌعهم سالمون ولم تحدث أى اصابات ،وهبطت الطائرة بسالم والتوجد أى مشاكل وتم عمل جمٌع اإلجراءات الالزمة للركاب وطاقم الطائرة. وأضاف مدٌر العالقات العامة ،أن شركة مصر للطٌران سترسل طائرة أخرى تابعة لها لنقل الركاب بسالم لنقلهم إلى مطار القاهرة الدولى.

كتب محمد طنطاوى وهى MS 621قالت شركة مصر للطٌران فى بٌان لها إن رحلة الشركة رقم من طراز البوٌنج ، 777/200القادمة مساء الٌوم وعلى متنها 303راكبا من الكوٌت إلى مطار القاهرة تعرضت لعطل فنى. وأضاف بٌان الشركة ،أن قائد الرحلة اضطر للهبوط بمطار شرم الشٌخ الدولى ،اتباعا إلجراءات السالمة الجوٌة ،فٌما أقلعت طائرة أخرى متجهة إلى مطار شرم الشٌخ ،إلعادة الركاب إلى مطار القاهرة.

مصر للطٌران :نواجه حملة تشوٌه ممنهجة
محمد عبدالناصر أكدت مصادر مسئولة بمصر للطٌران أن الشركة تواجه خطة ممنهجة لتشوٌه صورتها من خالل البالغات الكاذبة على رحالتها ثم اإلدعاء بإلغاء عشرات الرحالت بدعوى عدم تشغٌلها إقتصادٌا لعدم وجود ركاب علٌها. وقالت المصادر فى تصرٌحات صحفٌة الٌوم الخمٌس :فوجئنا بأحد المواقع اإللكترونٌة ٌنشر مساء األربعاء خبرا حول إلغاء الشركة 16رحلة خالل ساعات بسبب إنخفاض أعداد الركاب وعدم وجود جدوى إقتصادٌة رغم أن هذه الرحالت غٌر موجودة على جداول تشغٌل رحالت مصر للطٌران منذ ٌ 20ولٌو الماضى أى ماٌقرب من أسبوعٌن وتم التبلٌغ بها فى حٌنه ولم ٌتم الحجز علٌها أصال. وأشارت المصادر إلً أن تعدٌل جداول الرحالت نظام تتبعه كل شركات الطٌران العالمٌة على مدار العالم ولكن تسلٌط الضوء على مثل هذه األخبار وعرضها وإبرازها بهذا الشكل وإستغالل عدم معرفة القارئ غٌر المتخصص فى شئون السفر والطٌران ٌهدف إلى تشوٌه صورة الشركة الوطنٌة مصرللطٌران ضمن خطة ممنهجة بدأت بحملة البالغات الكاذبة بالتهدٌد األمنى ثم األعطال الفنٌة والهبوط اإلضطرارى والتى تقوم بها نفوس ضعٌفة لضرب أحد أهم الصروح اإلقتصادٌة فى مصر .

http://www.iata.org Passenger Demand Losing Momentum Geneva - The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic data for June showing that demand (measured in revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) rose by 5.2% compared to the year-ago period. This was up slightly from the 4.8% increase recorded in May (revised). However, the upward trend in seasonally-adjusted traffic has moderated since January. June capacity (available seat kilometers or ASKs) increased by 5.6%, and load factor slipped 0.3 percentage points to 80.7%. “The demand for travel continues to increase, but at a slower pace. The fragile and uncertain economic backdrop, political shocks and a wave of terrorist attacks are all contributing to a softer demand environment,” said Tony Tyler, IATA’s Director General and CEO.

2 International Passenger Markets June international passenger demand rose 5.0% compared to June 2015. All regions recorded growth, led by airlines in Latin America. Capacity climbed 6.4%, causing load factor to slide 1.1 percentage points to 79.4%. Asia-Pacific airlines’ June traffic increased 8.2% compared to the year-ago period. However, most of the growth relates to the strong upward trend in traffic seen in the final months of 2015 and into 2016, with June demand barely higher than in February. This could be a natural pause, but possibly is also a sign of Asian passengers being put off travel by terrorism in Europe. Capacity rose 7.3% and load factor inched up 0.6 percentage points to 78.2% European carriers saw demand rise 2.1%, the smallest increase among regions, reflecting the negative impact of recent terrorism. While demand tends to recover reasonably quickly after such events, the repeated nature of the attacks may have a more lasting impact. Capacity climbed 3.4% and load factor slipped 1.1 percentage points to 83.3% Middle Eastern carriers posted a 7.5% traffic increase in June, which was well down on the double-digit growth recorded earlier in the year. In part this could be owing to the timing of Ramadan, which tends to depress traffic growth. Capacity rose 14.3%, which caused load factor to dive 4.4 percentage points to 69.9% North American airlines’ demand rose 4.0% compared to June a year ago, which was well up on the 0.5% year-over-year growth recorded in May. Capacity climbed 4.7%, causing load factor to dip 0.6 percentage points to 84.3%, still the highest among regions Latin American airlines experienced an 8.8% rise in demand compared to the same month last year, suggesting that carriers there have flown out of the soft patch seen in the first quarter. Capacity increased by 5.2% and load factor rose 2.7 percentage points to 82.4% African airlines’ traffic climbed 4.7% in June, an indication that the strong upward trend in demand that began in the second half of 2015 has paused. Capacity rose 7.4%, with the result that load factor slipped 1.7 percentage points to 64.4%, lowest among regions.
3 Domestic Passenger Markets Demand for domestic travel climbed 5.7% in June compared to June 2015, while capacity increased 4.3%, causing load factor to rise 1.1 percentage points to 83.2%. All markets reported demand increases with the exception of Brazil.
4 India continued to lead all markets with a 23.3% rise in domestic traffic, propelled by strong growth in real consumer spending as well as by the fact that airlines are adding airport pairs and frequencies. Australia’s airlines have been operating fewer frequencies and down-gauging aircraft in recent months, contributing to a 3.6% decline in capacity. The widebody jet burst into flames as it crash landed in Dubai following a flight from Trivandrum International Airport, southern India. All 282 passengers and 18 crew escaped unharmed, although one firefighter was killed while dousing the blaze. The aircraft was destroyed. Five passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries received during the evacuation. The investigation will be led by the GCAA’s Air Accident Investigation Sector (AAIS), together with representatives of the US and UK, as states representing the airframe and engine manufacturers, respectively. Representatives of Boeing, Rolls-Royce and Emirates Airline will act as advisors to the representatives. In a statement Aug. 4, the GCAA said work was continuing to recover the aircraft’s flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder. Once acquired, they will be taken to the AAIS laboratory at Abu Dhabi for downloading and data analysis. The aircraft’s wreckage is being moved to a secure location for technical examination while its technical records, together with crew personnel records, have been secured. Air France estimates the week-long cabin crew strike, which ended Aug. 2, will cost the company more than €90 million ($100.7 million). The airline said it had to cancel nearly 1,400 flights during the seven-day strike, affecting 180,000 customers. Over the course of the week, Air France managed to operate more than 80% of its short- and medium-haul services and more than 90% of long-haul flights. Services returned to normal Aug. 3, although the airline warned of possible last-minute disruptions because of knock-on effects of the dispute.
The strike came at the height of the European holiday season and followed another Air France strike—this time by pilots—in June that was estimated to have cost the airline some €40 million. The French flag carrier recorded a €114 million loss for the first half of the financial year and has been plagued by industrial action for years. The company said it was inviting the striking unions for further negotiations in August; the wage and conditions agreement that sparked the dispute is scheduled for renewal at the end of October.

The Boeing 737-400 ASL Airlines Hungary cargo aircraft had flown from Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport when it slid off the runway at Milan Bergamo Airport in northern Italy at 4am local time (3am BST). Dramatic photos show the front of the plane crashing through a road barrier onto a busy highway where cars were battling heavy rain. The crew - which consisted of two pilots - managed to escape unscathed at the airport, which is also called Orio al Serio. At the moment it is unclear whether any drivers on the road were injured or any cars hit. Flight QY7332 had been charterered by logistics company DHL. Operations at the airport resumed at 6.47am local time (5.47am BST), but many Ryanair flights have been cancelled or delayed. Other airlines have been allowed to take off, however. Ryanair is the largest flight operator at the airport by a long way. Thousands of passengers have been stranded at the airport, with many getting frustrated at the lack of information from the Irish airline. Ryanair tweeted the airport was closed, but the airport operators just said flights could be delayed or cancelled. A statement from the budget airline, said: "We regret to advise customers that due to the closure of the runway at Milan Bergamo airport this morning (5 Aug), we regret that Ryanair has been forced to cancel a number of flights to/from Milan Bergamo airport. "All affected customers will notified by email and text of their options. "We apologise for this closure, which is due to circumstances outside of our control, and further information will be available on the Ryanair.com website throughout the day."

Southwest Airlines CEO Responds to Unions

Despite four labor groups calling for his departure, Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV) CEO Gary Kelly said he is not going anywhere. The company’s four largest unions, which represent about 36,000 of the 52,000 employees, called for Kelly and Mike Van de Ven, executive vice president and chief operating officer, to step down. The Southwest Airlines Pilots Association started the movement on Monday and was joined by groups representing flight attendants on Tuesday. Unions for mechanics, baggage handlers and other airport ground-operations workers followed suit on Wednesday.
The unions cited a systemwide technical outage in July as grounds for their removal. Although the computers were restored 12 hours into the outage, flights continued to be canceled or delayed for several days as the airline attempted to reorganize its crews and planes. In addition, the unions voiced displeasure with the executives’ focus on cutting costs and spending billions buying back company stock. The airline has also deferred negotiations on new contract terms with the pilots, flight attendants and mechanics, creating tension. In a video addressed to the company’s employees, Kelly, who has served as CEO since 2004, claimed the personal attack against him is part of a negotiating ploy and said he and Van de Ven have ―important work to do and important issues to address‖ and would not be distracted by the unions’ attacks. The Dallas-based airline was established in 1967 by Herb Kelleher and adopted its current name in 1971. Southwest is the world’s largest low-cost carrier and operates more than 3,800 flights per day. It has a market cap of $23.26 billion with an enterprise value of $22.6 billion. It has a price-earnings (P/E) ratio of 9.5 with a forward P/E of 9.3. It has a price-book (P/B) ratio of 2.9 and a price-sales (P/S) of 1.14. GuruFocus ranked its financial strength 7 of 10 and its profitability and growth 8 of 10. The company’s operating margin is at 21.8%, which is ranked higher than 89% of its competitors.

It’s No Miracle Everyone Escaped That Fiery Dubai Plane Crash Once the smoke had cleared from the runway at Dubai International Airport, you could see the wreckage of what you’d assume was an unsurvivable crash. The fuselage of the Boeing 777 was burnt and twisted. The entire top of the plane’s body melted away, down to the level of the windows, and what was visible of the interior was charred beyond recognition. How could anyone have escaped? Yet every one of the 300 people on board got out safely after the jet landed hard and caught fire Tuesday morning. (One firefighter died in the blaze.) Investigators are now working to discover what brought down Emirates flight EK521, which flew to Dubai from Thiruvananthapuram, India—photos indicate the landing gear didn’t deploy. What is already clear is that everything went right with the evacuation. Unsurprisingly, passengers spoke of a terrifying, unexpected trauma. The 18 crew members may have been surprised, but they—like the plane they command—were ready for the worst. ―Crashworthiness is an aeronautical engineering concept as important as airworthiness, and the 777 has had a sterling record for survivable crashes,‖ says Stephen Trimble of Flight Global, an aviation industry news source. It’s built into the voluminous FAA regulations any aircraft must meet before entering service: Along with using flame-resistant materials wherever possible, the likes of Boeing and Airbus must prove their aircraft can be fully evacuated within 90 seconds—using just half the exits.
To test that, real people are put into numbered bibs and belted into seats on a parked plane. When given the signal, they must navigate blocked exit routes, debris scattered through the cabin, and semi-darkness before leaping onto an inflatable slide.
2 Still, it’s an impressive demonstration of modern plane design. When Airbus certified its A380 in 2006, 873 people got off the plane in just 78 seconds. Even if it takes two or three times longer in a crash, it’s remarkable. That test doesn’t perfectly imitate reality: The ―passengers‖ are alert and expecting the order to scram, not sleepy and wondering where they put their passport. They won’t shove past each other to survive, or grab their carry-on on the way out. (In one case, Airbus recruited gym members and had them warm up before the test.) The slides are predeployed for their safety, and airline employees lay down mats around them so no one cracks their head. To make that happen, you need more than well-marked exits: the cabin staff are crucial for an effective evacuation. Emirates says in this case, its crew executed their procedures professionally, and only left the plane once their 282 passengers were safe. Along with first aid and dealing with obnoxious passengers, those safety procedures are a key part of their intense, five-week training. ―They did a wonderful job,‖ says Hans Hans Weber, president of Tecop International Inc, an aviation consultancy. ―The speed with which they evacuated, they must have had passengers on board who followed orders.‖ And that’s the final critical element: the passengers. Crashes like this one are a good reminder that while it’s tempting to ignore the safety announcements that kick off every flight, you should how to get off your plane. Count the rows from your seat to the nearest exit, so you can find it in the dark or if smoke fills the cabin. If you’re in an emergency exit row, know how to operate the door. Do not stop to collect your luggage like some passengers fleeing Asiana Flight 214 after crashing in San Francisco in 2013. And then relax and enjoy your flight, knowing that if the worst does happen, you, your crew, and your plane are ready.

Asian airlines reported improving airfreight demand in June with Cathay Pacific citing a half-year rush and a surge in exports from the Americas. The largest cargo carrier in the region, Cathay Pacific, saw cargo demand increase by 4.8% year-on-year in June to 876m cargo and mail tonne km (CMT). This is the airline’s busiest June since Air Cargo News records began in 2011 but represents only its second year-on-year increase in 2016. While demand at the airline was up, capacity was reduced by 0.3% against last year and as a result its load factor increased to 64.3% compared with 62.7% in June 2015. Cathay Pacific general manager cargo sales and marketing Mark Sutch said: ―Helped by the half-year end rush, the overall tonnage for June was healthy, thanks to growing feed from Asia. ―The Americas saw a surge in the export of seasonal produce into Asia, particularly from the West Coast. ―Our new Madrid service was well-received by the cargo community and we filled the west-bound leg with consumer goods and carried fresh produce on the return leg. ―However, overall yield remains challenging, as market supply continues to outstrip demand. We will continue to diversify and develop special products, some of which have shown encouraging results.‖ For the half year the news was not as good as the airline recorded a 2.3% decline in demand to 4.9bn CMT.

The region’s second busiest carrier Air China also recorded an increase in June as demand was 6.3% ahead of last year at 596m revenue freight tonne km. Air China has been seeing demand increase quickly over the last couple of years, reporting double-digit increases in both 2014 and 2015 as it expands its fleet. At the half-year mark, demand was up 3.9% on a year earlier. Meanwhile, the airline’s capacity in June was up 3% on June last year and as a result its load factor increased to 61.1% from 59.2% in 2015. There was also a demand increase in June recorded at Singapore Airlines Cargo (SIA), which registered a 5.9% jump to 551m freight tonne km (FTK). Its load factor for the month also improved, reaching 61.1% compared with 60.3%. For the half year, demand at SIA was up 4.2% on a year earlier to 3.3bn FTK. The largest percentage increase in demand for June came unsurprisingly from China Southern, which has been growing at double digit levels for most of the year.
3 The airline recorded a 13.4% year-on-year increase to 513m revenue freight tonne km (RFTK). For the half year demand was up 12.9% to 2.9bn RFTK. Perhaps the most surprising result came from Eva Air Cargo, which registered a 0.7% improvement in demand during June to 297m FTK. It is the first time the airline has managed to record a demand increase since February 2015. Its half-year result was not quite so good as it recorded a demand decrease of 9.3% year on year to 1.7bn FTK.
4 Another airline that reversed its fortunes in June was China Eastern, which saw demand increase by 3.8% year on year to 387m RFTK, representing its first increase of the year. For the half year, demand at the airline was down 4.8% on last year to 2.3bn RFTK. The only Asian airline monitored by this report not to record a demand increase in June was China Airlines, which saw traffic fall by 1.8% on a year earlier to 446m FRTK. This is the airline’s thirteenth year-on-year decrease in a row and for the half year demand is down 7.1% to 2.5bn FRTK.

Iraqi Airways resumes flights to Europe
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – Iraqi Airways will resume its services to Europe in the near future, said an Iraqi official on Wednesday. The Minister of Transportation in Iraq Abdel-Hussein Abtan broke the news in a statement. ―Iraqi Airways offices in Iraq and rest of the world will start booking from Baghdad, Basra, and Najaf to Copenhagen,‖ read the statement. Additionally, Abtan noted that flights to London, Stockholm and Frankfurt will also resume in the coming days. However, he stated that the procedure does not mean that the ban on the aviation of Iraq is lifted, but it is considered as a very significant step in this regard. The Minister highlighted the efforts committed to achieve the mentioned step, and he called for conducting more important steps to lift the ban on the Iraqi Airways completely. Iraq Airways has been among the airlines that are banned from EU skies. According to the recent statement of the EU Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc, Iraqi Airways have been banned in Europe due to safety concerns. Iraq Airways is one of the oldest airlines in the Middle East that operates domestic and regional services. Its main base is Baghdad International Airport (BIA). It is one of the members of the Arab Air Carriers Organization. In 2015, Iraqi Airways was included in the list of air carriers banned in the EU due to safety issues and lack of the international standards of aviation.

Lufthansa Cargo, the logistics arm of the Lufthansa Group, expects a loss on Adjusted EBIT for 2016 after a 19.5 percent drop in net traffic revenue to €939 million for the first six months (H1) and an Adjusted EBIT loss of €45 million. The company cited continued overcapacity, particularly from "the Gulf and Bosporus region", as having a "highly adverse" impact on revenue as yields fell to levels last seen during the financial crisis in 2009. During HI, European sales increased 3.6 per cent, yields fell 15.1 percent, and traffic revenue dropped 12.0 percent. In the Americas sales were down 7.2 percent, yields sank 17.2 percent and traffic revenue dropped by 23.1 per cent.

2 Sales in Asia/Pacific - where Lufthansa Cargo now has a "close bilateral cooperation" with Cathay Pacific Cargo in addition to ANA - rose 1.8 percent but yields dropped 18.0 percent and traffic revenue fell 16.4 per cent. Given the acknowledged overcapacity, the company saw sales in the MENA region fall 8.6 percent, yields drop 14.7 per cent, and traffic revenue a significant 22.4 percent during H1. In response, Lufthansa Cargo said it would continue with an €80 million reduction in staff and supplier costs that will result in "leaner processes and a modern, flexible infrastructure"; new services including an air cargo product for individuals called 'my AirCargo'; more airline partnerships; and "drive forward digitalization along the entire logistics chain". The company provisionally retired two MD-11F freighters at the end of 2015 and now operates five B777Fs and twelve MD-11s. Lufthansa Group H1 Adjusted EBIT rose 13 percent to €529 million as revenue fell 2.1 percent to €15.04 billion. Net profit fell 55 percent to €529 million during the period, due mainly to a one-off benefit of €503 million in 2015 from the early realization of a Jet Blue convertible bond. Chairman and CEO Carsten Spohr said that while the group achieved a "solid result" for the first six months of 2016, he warned of a difficult second half of the year: "The terrorist attacks in Europe and also the increasing political and economic uncertainties are having a tangible impact on passenger volumes. The forward bookings, in particular for our long-haul services to Europe have declined significantly. We expect the high pricing pressure to continue. "In view of this, and as we recently announced, we expect to report an Adjusted EBIT for the full year which is below the previous year's.
