One of Schlumberger’s main focuses is enhancing education via programs that focus on STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). These subjects underpin not only the business, but also economic growth in every country around the globe. Among many community outreach initiatives, there is Schlumberger Excellence in Education Development (SEED), which offers learning opportunities for school children, in addition to the Schlumberger Faculty for the Future program, which funds women from developing countries to pursue advanced graduate study in STEM subjects at renowned universities abroad. In 2018, under the patronage of the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Modernization Program - whose objective is to design and implement an integrated, transformative program for Egypt’s oil and gas sector to enhance its contribution as an engine of economic growth and to reinforce its role as a model for other sectors Schlumberger has been working on a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) that aims to leverage the technical knowledge of freshly-graduated and the freshly-hired engineers and geoscientists.
