FAMILY AND MORALE, WELFARE AND RECREATION (FMWR) Blue Star Card Program Information: Blue Star Card SUPERSTAR Punch Card The SUPERSTAR punch card is a recent Blue Star Card initiative. If you attend Blue Star Card events, you will receive a Blue Star Card SUPERSTAR punch card. After attending 10 Blue Star Card events and filling up your punch card, you will receive a FREE Blue Star Card t-shirt! Blue Star Card Event No-Show Policy The Blue Star Card program is now implementing an event no-show policy. If you register for a Blue Star Card event and cannot attend the event, you must cancel your reservation by 12:00 p.m. (noon) the day before the event. If you fail to cancel your reservation and do not attend, you will be considered a no-show, which will result in you automatically being wait-listed for the next month’s events. It is our goal to include as many Blue Star Card holders as possible in our events, by implementing this policy; we hope to achieve this goal. The Blue Star Card Printer Station has moved to Fort Shafter! The Blue Star Card printer station has moved from Tripler ACS to Fort Shafter ACS. Eligible patrons on the South side will need to go to Fort Shafter ACS located at the Fort Shafter Aloha Center, Bldg 330, Clark Road, to get a Blue Star Card from now on. The printer station at Schofield Barracks ACS is still available and unaffected by this move. Regular Blue Star Card registration requirements still apply. Health and Fitness Center STACC Site Information: The STACC site for the Health and Fitness center will remain free for valid Blue Star Card Holders, Monday-Friday, 0800-1100, at Kaala Community Activities Center, Bldg. 556. Registration is required. For more information please call 655-8313. Deploying Units FMWR is available to come to your pre-deployment FRG meetings to explain the benefits of the Blue Star Card program and answer questions. Please call 655-0002 for more information or to set up a meeting. Still Need a Blue Star Card?


The Blue Star Card is a FMWR deployment discount card for Spouses of deployed Soldiers. The card offers Spouses discounts at FMWR facilities, activities and special events. Blue Star Cards are valid throughout the entire deployment. For a full list of Blue Star benefits visit the website at www.bluestarcardhawaii.com. Blue Star Card Email List Are you a Blue Star Card holder but not receiving FMWR email updates? If so please email Amanda.P.Montgomery.naf@mail.mil so we can register your email address for Blue Star Card updates. ARMY COMMUNITY SERVICE (ACS) Army Emergency Relief (AER) AER is conducting its annual campaign from 1 March – 15 May 2012. During this time, unit points of contact will be available to assist Soldiers in contributing to the campaign. Voluntary contribution allows AER to fulfill its mission of helping Soldiers in time of distress and misfortune. AER Scholarship applications for Spouse Education Assistance Program and Major General James Ursano Scholarship Fund for dependent children are available on www.aerhq.org. The application is available through 2 April 2012 for Academic Year 2012-2013. For further information, please contact Jackie Torres, 655-7132. Fort Shafter Aloha Center ACS Offices Reduction in Services Though we have had to reduce staff, our ACS and SOS offices will strive to continue providing services for our South side units, Soldiers and Families. Information, Referral and Relocation along with our Financial Readiness staff continue to be available as well as providing the initial in-processing and EFMP paperwork. Classes will continue to be held with personnel from both Schofield and Fort Shafter. We apologize for any inconvenience and our Staff would like to say Aloha for your understanding and support. AER Loan Processing Due to staffing, AER loan processing will only be available at the Schofield ACS office until further notice. Financial Readiness Program Actions (other that AER Loans) A financial counselor will be available at the Shafter ACS office, room 111, every Tuesday until further notice. Appointments can be made by calling 438-9285. 3. MISC INFORMATION The Oahu North SIMS meets the first Monday of each month, 0900 to 1000 at the Nehelani and SIMS South meets the first Wednesday of each month from 0900 to 1000 at the Hale Ikena. This meeting last approximately one hour and all spouses are welcome to attend in order to get updates on monthly happenings! We do ask that arrangements be made for childcare in order to hold the meeting to that hour timeframe. 5.
