OUR HISTORY

OUR OBJECTIVES

Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation was established in 2011 and officially registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in May 2013. Founded after the loss of Mama Eddah, the foundation has been able to fulfill its mandate by running sensitization programs and campaigns that provide free and easy access to cancer-related information and support.

• Create the largest following in Africa of youth leading healthy lifestyles through the #Cancersoldier movement • Create a hub of cancer knowledge transfer • Catalyze research into detection, prevention and treatment of cancer • Train the largest number of community health workers (focusing on cancer)

As the target group is mainly the youth, the programs and campaigns evolve around fun and youthful activities that create an environment for easier dissemination of information as well as set the stage on establishing ways of offering support.

OUR PROJECTS Cancer Awareness Days

Cancer Mtaani Project

Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation partners with corporates and industries to participate in fun, interactive cancer awareness challenges for their staff and teams.

The purpose of the outreach program is to disseminate vital information in a fun, friendly and interactive way through rig traversing to the marginalized and the lower income housing areas by equipping the youth with practical ways of managing and curbing the spread of cancer.

The scope of the program is to educate and sensitize the participants on the obvious signs and symptoms to watch out for with regards to cancer, and to promote and encourage the participants to embrace the preventive culture through regular check-ups and living healthy lifestyles. The program also generates proceeds for equipment and care for cancer patients in need.
