What is the cloud computing? Cloud computing is a technology that provides a platform through the Internet where you can host your resources, such as web applications, databases, workloads, web services and any other type of application. You can even host those that are hosted as public, private, or both, which is called hybrid.

How does cloud computing work? Cloud computing differs from traditional IT hosting services in that consumers typically do not have the infrastructure they need to support the programs or applications they use. Instead, these elements are owned and operated by third parties, and end users pay only for the services they use. In other words, cloud computing is a utility-based on-demand computing model. There are five key characteristics of cloud computing. ďƒź On-demand self-service ďƒź Broad network access ďƒź Resource pooling

ďƒź Rapid elasticity ďƒź Measured service

Cloud computing service models Cloud solutions come in three primary service models: IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) - Hardware hosted by a cloud service provider for customers to use their portal. The provider hosts and manages the hardware. The customer pays the usage fee.

SaaS (Software as a Service) - The provider hosts the software on its infrastructure and provides it as a service to the customer. The provider manages the infrastructure and software, or only provides the software and uses some other IaaS service provider to provide the hardware. The customer pays for the software usage fee.

PaaS (Platform as a Service) - PaaS providers offer a platform to host customer applications. These are essentially software services provided as platforms. Customers launch enterprise applications or native applications on the PaaS platform.

Types of cloud computing There are three main cloud computing deployment options: Public cloud: The public cloud infrastructure is available to large industry organizations and is owned by organizations that sell cloud services in UAE.

Private cloud: The private cloud infrastructure is for organizational use only. The cloud can be managed by the organization or a third party. Private clouds can be on- or off-premises.

Hybrid cloud: A hybrid cloud combines multiple clouds (private clouds, public) that retain their unique identity but are bundled together as a unit. Hybrid clouds provide standardized or proprietary access to data and applications, as well as application portability.
