Need a new direction? Sign up for training TO ENSURE the Network‟s optimal development, the EACI manages a programme that comprises training in Brussels and in partner countries. Since

its launch, more than one-third of the 3,000 colleagues working in the Network have attended training courses. Harald Grill of FFG (Austrian Research Promotion Agency) recently attended an advanced session in Brussels. Networking and access to expertise were the added bene ts of these interactive events, he said. “It was helpful for making personal contacts with both Partners and EACI people – communicating on rst name terms is easier.” Upcoming events include Newcomers and Advanced sessions, a Train the

trainers module on IT Partnership Tools and a session for managers. In addition to these events that will take place in Brussels, sessions to be held in Network countries will cover subjects ranging from technology transfer and internal market issues to legal advice for SMEs. Германска технологија во Малта POLISH ENTREPRENEUR Grzegorz Kozak runs a web development company called Virtual People in Szczecin, northwest Poland. Bubbling with ideas, he wanted to set up several web projects, including a social networking site and an online commercial tendering service. But he needed the right funding to make his ideas come to life. He turned to his local Enterprise Europe Network Partner, the West Pomeranian Economic Development Association. In Szczecin, Network expert Katarzyna Męcińska keeps a close watch on the grants and nancing available from the European Union. She found an opportunity under structural funds and gave Mr Kozak all the information he needed to make an application, helping him to ensure that his documentation was done correctly.

New call for €30 million

Virtual People‟s application for funding was successful; Mr Kozak received around €22,600 to develop his websites. The Network‟s help made a huge di erence to his business – he‟s hired three people and will soon take on another. “Thanks to Katarzyna, we were thoroughly informed about possible sources for nancing our ideas,“ says Mr Kozak. “Her experience and professional advice had a great impact.“ Get in touch
