VINEYARD COUNTRY ESTATE: STYLISH LIVING
Show house is elegance personified “Darling, just come and look at this incredible view!” an excited wife beckoned to her husband at the launch of the Vineyard Country Estate’s stylish new show house on the evening of Thursday 4 July. At sunset, the expansive panoramic vistas enjoyed from the estate (located on Escallonia Street in Heldervue) are particularly breathtaking. And with a magnificent and uber-stylish show home now showcasing the extraordinary talents of the Manor Homes team (in charge of construction, interior designs and landscaping at Vineyard Country Estate), investors’ excitement has only been heightened – with good reason. Estate developer Andrea Robertson (from Paladin Development) observes, “This truly is the last remaining estate of this kind in the area offering views and home designs of this calibre, and is precisely why there are now only nine properties left out of the initial 34 available. “The team of architects from the Dennis Moss Partnership have done a remarkable job, which means we’ve been able to offer our clients a great range of fantastic plot–andplan designs, but also the freedom and joy to tweak where they see fit. Those who have chosen to invest here are truly delighted to be part of this unique project,” she says. Kelly Harris, head of sales agrees, “It’s a testimony to the quality of life people envisage for themselves at Vineyard Country Estate that we sold 20 of our 34 plots within a fourweek period in 2012. People realise what they’re getting here is something special. “I feel so proud knowing that this product delivers. Whether it’s the beauty and elegance of the home designs, or the impeccable landscape designs of Otilia Gericke and her team, (also of the Dennis Moss Part-
nerships), or the comfort of knowing you’re part of a friendly and secure gated community, Vineyard Country Estate not only meets, but actually exceeds clients’ expectations.” According to Harris, another draw card is the estate’s inclusivity. “We have residents of all ages who’ll be living here, which is lovely.” And what about the homes themselves? Martina le Roux, representing the Dennis Moss Partnerships, explains their vision: “Our intention was not to replicate traditional Cape homes, but rather to adopt traditional elements derived from regional Cape architecture, such as their proportions, simplicity and so on. Homes would best be described as Cape Vernacular with a decisively modern flair. Focal features such as pergolas, traditional chimneys, low walls and verandas were added to complement the character of homes and create a unique sense of place.” One gets a sense of the forthcoming homes’ potential when walking through the plush interiors of the show house tastefully designed by Leanne Beukman of Manor Homes. There’s a feeling of space and luxury in every room. An inviting plunge pool and well-sheltered barbecue area look particularly enticing for lazy weekend and after work entertaining. Leanne’s design options allow homeowners to choose between five different colour schemes, each named for a different wine cultivar. “These schemes are just guides to help inspire our clients. Homeowners are more than welcome to take elements from one design and merge them with another. We want owners to have a sense of freedom and creativity. They can play around with our design specifications to quite a degree.” Manor Homes also offers its clients a choice between various

standard finishes and upgrades when it comes to fittings, flooring, etc. Leanne has chosen a combination of options as well as some of the “green” products available, such as the option of using of Cocomosaic (winner of the Best Green Product Award at Decorex 2013) cladding and tiles, or certain energy and water-saving devices. “We’ve tried to go green wherever possible.” Leanne is also proud of the fact that Manor Homes is able to use local suppliers based in the Helderberg, some of whom also generously donated materials for the show house, such as Top Carpets, JDW Glass Company and Tiletoria.
