This study is an attempt to understand if and how the different social needs of nowadays influence our housing models. Considering that the values and the role models of each era are derivatives of the social and politico-economical conditions, it is our concern to identify any different qualities, trends or needs in today's way of dwelling. Our study case is the center of Athens, social condenser of the city and stage of changes for the last years. Our research field focuses in the architectural competition of the construction company GEK-TERNA in 2006 under the subject "Housing Complex in Metaxourgio".
This thesis was conducted in collaboration with Eirini Sfakiotaki and was orally defended in March 2012.
