I have always been fascinated by the Round Table and all of the characters associated with it. What must it have been like to be there, in that environment with the energy and excitement and wonder of that land? This project is driven by that wonder and mystery. These images were all created in that light while I was living in the South West of Ireland. I found the faces in the villages and pubs of West Cork and invited them to play with me. These are the players in my telling of the Arthurian Legend.

... The Kingdom was without coherence, with no one King to lead it. There were many kings and dukes all over the island, but the land needed a king who could lead them all together in a fight against the dark of.......

Avalon is a place rich in tradition and mystery. Through the ages, many have written of it, but no one knows the truth. Did Avalon exist? Does it still? Where is it? What is it? No one knows, though the legends abound. In all likelihood, Avalon will always remain a mystery. The most famous setting for Avalon is in the King Arthur legends. Supposedly, Arthur's sword, Excalibur, was forged on the mystic Isle of Avalon. When Arthur was mortally wounded in battle with Mordred, he was carried off to the Isle of Avalon so that his wounds might be attended to.

Tristan and Isolde The tragic love story of Tristan and Isolde has been told and retold through various stories and manuscripts. It takes place during medieval times during the reign of King Arthur. Isolde of Ireland was the daughter of Angwish, King of Ireland. She was betrothed to King Mark of Cornwall. King Mark sent his nephew, Tristan, to Ireland to escort Isolde back to Cornwall. His ship experienced angry seas on his approach to Ireland and he suffered life threatening injurys. Here Isolde nurses him to recovery. Tristan was a Knight of the Round Table in Arthur's court.

The Code To never lay down arms To seek after wonders When called upon, to defend the rights of the weak with all one's strength To injure no one Not to attack one another To fight for the safety of one's country To give one's life for one's country To seek nothing before honor.........
