This Master’s Thesis has its theoretical base in the research on sustainable tourism and its dynamics connected to the landscape, the territory, and the local communities. Through a deep study of the regional issues of the Albanian Riviera I have been able to draw a scenario of sustainable touristic development of the area and then focus on the accommodation structures that could better adapt and respond to that scenario. The three accommodation structures designed through this process are “Into the Wild”, “Living the Heritage“ and “Landscape Hotel”. The three of them answer to three different, recurring and representative issues of the Albanian Riviera; they are tailored to respond to three different kinds of users, connected to three different segments of ecotourism and they relate to different types of landscapes. The structures are all reversible, flexible and adaptable. They seek to have a “light“ footprint on the environment, they are immersed in nature and try to live in harmony with the heritage.
