1 Product description 1.1 General The Conditioned Air Module FSS CAM-C filters and conditions the air distributed in the underfloor plenum for an office zone. It basically consists of the following main sections:  Cabinet  Filter section  Coils and valves  Fan section  Electric board  Control system  Humidifier  Baseframe

working spaces. Installation is very fast and easy because no duct connections are required. Fresh air can be discharged directly into the underfloor return section of the plenum for treatment by the CAM-C.

1.2 Cabinet This consists of a robust frame made of welded 2 mm sheet steel with front and side panel internally lined with 23 mm thick thermal and acoustic insulation in self extinguishing polyurethane foam (named type HELIOCELL – 30/AU). The internal discharge plenum is completely lined with the same material. The front panels ensure easy access to the electric board and the electronic control; for safety reason, a special key lock prevents access to unauthorized people when the unit is running. Whenever required, additional front and side panels can be supplied for a good appearance therefore increasing the acoustic insulation. Frame and panels are of Pearl Grey colour (Ral 7035) protected by epoxypolyester powder paint. On/Off switch will be fitted onto the front panel.

1.3 Filter section The air returning from the rooms enters the CAM-C from the underfloor void. Here it is filtered and conditioned by means of the temperature and humidity set-points selected on the electronic control. It is then again delivered in the underfloor plenum through a suitable baseframe towards the Terminal Units FSS-TU. The Conditioned Air Module CAM-C is manufactured in three different sizes: CAMC15, CAM-C25, CAM-C35 with cooling capacities varying from 7 to 35 kW and heating capacity from 7,5 to 50 kW. A single unit can cover the air conditioning needs of areas up to 300 m2. Conditioned Air Module CAM-C has been designed to be enclosed in partitions or left free standing. It can be located in shafts, corridors, technical rooms or in normal

The Filters in the front section of the unit provide continuous high efficiency filtration of the recirculated air. This achieves the required degree of clean air in the office area. Disposable filters are made of deep pleated fabric mounted in galvanised frames to permit rapid changing without any danger of dust dispersal. Standard filters rate efficiency of F5, according to DIN standard 24.175. G3 and F7 filters are available on request. The filter section has easy access to facilitate the inspection and replacement of filters, thus contributing to a healthy environment. Clogged filter switch and pressure drop indicator can be fitted on request. Each AHU includes a number of disposable low velocity synthetic fibre filters coupled with fine mesh net made of synthetic material:

1.5 Fan section Conditioned Air Module CAM-C is equipped with quiet, low speed centrifugal fans, each with integral variable speed independent electric motor with built- in thermal protection. Different fan speeds can be selected using the Hiromatic controller or a potentiometer by means of an electronic control which allows different voltage outputs. The fans are double inlet with statically and dynamically balanced impellers with lifetime lubricated bearings for quiet , vibration-free operation (IP10 electric motor as standard). The fan section is downstream the cooling coil to provide a very uniform air distribution with low pressure drop and low noise. The CAM-C is provided with an electronic flow sensor to check the operation of the unit. Each fan can be fitted with a pressure switch for remote indication.

1.6 Electric board The Units are designed for 400 (+/- 10%) V /3ph + N + PE/50Hz for version F+H and F+C+H and 230 V (+/- 10%) V/ 1 ph +N + PE/50 Hz for version F .(F = only cooling; C = electric heater; H = humidifier) The electric board is factory wired and complains with IEC standards, it is completely isolated from the air stream and accessible from the front panel. It is protected by safety locks with a special key. It is essentially includes: main disconnector switch , transformer, safety automatic switches, fan motor contact, fan motor speed contact, humidifier, electric heater contacts and FSS - FA contacts.

CAM C – Product description Oct 2009 5

1.7 Control system A factory-wired electronic control system is fitted within the unit. It provides an automatic and continuous control of the supply air temperature and humidity to maintain the area at the required conditions. Additional modules can be fitted for humidity control, outdoor compensation and connection with an external Building Management System. Electronic automatic control will be fitted into the unit, consisting of:  1 x Microface controller  1 x Hiromatic Evolution display (optional)  1 x zone room air temperature sensor  1 x supply air temperature sensor  1 x multi-input board  1 x alarm card, or electrical heater card  1 x water thermostat (not for CAMC units with the optional 1 row heating coil)

1.8 Humidifier An electric steam humidifier (Humidair) is available as an option (5 kg/h nominal steam humidifier with electronic control and humitemp sensor). The humidifier can use any type of hard or soft water, provided it is not distilled water. It produces clean, particle-free steam almost instantly by passing an electric current through a heating element within the water in a disposable plastic cylinder. Steam humidification ensures that the water is sterilised before being introduced into the air stream. This eliminates the biological risks. A unique salinity detector allows the humidifier to be tuned to the quality of almost any water supply, to control accurately the rate of steam output and maximise the life of the boiler cylinder. A warning light shows when the cylinder requires replacement. Replacement takes a matter of seconds, it not being necessary to disconnect the supply or drain lines. An automatic flush control system which limits the salt concentration in the cylinder is standard.

1.9 Baseframe There are two models of base frame: TP (triangular plate) and RP (rectangular plate). Using TP and RP baseframe six different baseframe configuration are available to adapt the CAM-C installation to any zone layout requirement. Air delivery and intake can be from the front side or back of the unit according to the baseframe configuration. The base frame is made of welded steel sheet and bake painted of the same colour as the CAM-C frame. The baseframe can be ordered up to 300 mm, or 500 mm or 800 mm on the basis of the height of the finished floor. The baseframe fits adjustable height supports to obtain the correct height and to compensate eventual slab irregularities.

1.10 Optional modules The following additional optional modules are available:  humidification (described above)  dehumidification is available whether or not a humidifier is fitted, although the additional heating coil (electrical or lphw) is required.  compensation for external temperature and/or outdoor air temperature  connection to BMS via Hirolink (local or remote control)
