Product description 1.1 General The Conditioned Air Module FSS CAM-V filters and conditions the air distributed in the underfloor plenum for an office zone. Basically, it consists of the following main sections:  Cabinet  Filter section  Coils and valves  Fan section  Electric board  Control system  Humidifier The air returning from the rooms enters the CAM-V through its open top. It is then filtered and conditioned according to the temperature and humidity set-points selected at the electronic control. The conditioned air is then delivered to the underfloor plenum for discharge to the space by Fantiles or console units. The CAM-V is available in four sizes: V11, V22, V33, and V44 with cooling capacities varying from 6 to 40 kW and heating capacities from 8 to 58 kW. A single unit can provide the air conditioning needs of areas up to 300m2.

The CAM-V is particularly suitable for openplan offices; it can be located within an enclosure or be free-standing. It can be located in shafts, corridors, technical rooms or in normal working spaces. Installation is fast and easy since no duct connections are required.

Fresh air can be discharged into the inlet of the cabinet; it mixes with the return air and is conditioned by the CAM-V .

1.2 Cabinet The cabinet consists of a welded steel frame of 2 mm thick sheet steel with front and side panels internally lined with 23 mm thick thermal and acoustic insulation in selfextinguishing polyurethane foam (type HELIOCELL – 30/AU). The internal discharge plenum is completely lined with the same material. The front panels allow easy access to the electrical board and the electronic control; for safety reasons, a special key lock prevents access to unauthorized people when the unit is running. Frame and panels are of Pearl Grey colour (RAL 7035) finished by epoxypolyester powder paint. An On/Off switch and green indicator lamp are fitted in the front panel.

1.3 Filter section The Filters positioned at the inlet of the unit provide continuous high-efficiency filtration of the recirculated air. Disposable filters - of deep-pleated fabric mounted in galvanised frames - permit rapid change. Standard filters are rated G3, according to DIN standard 24.175. F4 and F5 filters are available on request. The filter section has easy access to facilitate the inspection and replacement of filters. A clogged filter switch and pressure differential indicator can be fitted on request. Filter sizes are as follows: CAM-V11: 1 filter (510 x 745 x 100 mm; 1,18 m2; 12 folds) CAM-V22: 2 filters (510 x 598 x 100 mm; 0,95 m2; 10 folds) CAM-V33: 3 filters (695 x 650 x 100 mm; 1,41 m2; 11 folds) CAM-V 44: 3 filters (695 x 650 x 100 mm; 1,41 m2; 11 folds)

1.4 Coils and Valves Standard water coil (5 row for V11, V22, V44 and 4 row for V33) with copper pipes and aluminium plate fins. This can be used for both cooling and heating with chilled and hot water in two-pipe installations or cooling only in four-pipe installations. In the latter case the optional 1-row coil must be added for heating. Each coil is supplied with the relevant 3- way valve and actuator. A CAM-V version with two-step electric heating coil has been developed for all cases when hot water is not available.  CAM-V 11: the standard cooling coil is 5 rows, copper tubes with 12 aluminium plate fins per inch, with a face area of 0.46 m2 .One or both of the following additional coils is available as optional:  A 1-row additional heating coil: copper tubes with 14 aluminium plate fins per inch with a surface area of 0.26 m2 .  B aluminium electric heaters: 4,5 KW total capacity with 3-step automatic switching (1,5 + 3 kW)  CAM-V 22 : the standard cooling coil is be 5 rows, copper tubes with 12 aluminium plate fins per inch, with a face area of 0.77 m2. One or both of the following additional coils are available as optional:  A 1-row additional heating coil: copper tubes with 14 aluminium plate fins per inch with a face area of 0,44 m2.  B Aluminium electric heaters: 5,85 kW total capacity with 3-step automatic switching (1,95 + 3,9 kW)  CAM-V 33: the standard cooling coil is 4 rows, copper tubes with 14 aluminium plate fins per inch, with a face area of 1.26 m2. One or both of the following additional coils are available as optional:  A 1-row additional heating coil: copper tubes with 12 aluminium plate fins per inch with a face area of 0.83 m2.  B aluminium electric heaters: 9 kW total capacity with 3 steps automatic intervention(3 + 6 kW)  CAM-V 44: the standard cooling coil shall be 5 rows, copper tubes with 14 aluminium plate fins per inch, with a face area of 1.26 m2. One or both of

the following additional coils will be available as optional: A 1 row additional heating coil: copper tubes with 12 aluminium plate fins per inch with a face area of 0.83 m2. B aluminium electric heaters: 9 kW total capacity with 3-step automatic switching (3 + 6 kW)

CAM-V unit is supplied with the following valves and actuators:  Standard valve is 3-way L&D type (CAM-V11 Kvs=6,3 ; CAM-V 22 Kvs=10 ; CAM-V 33 Kvs=16 ; CAMV 44 Kvs=16)  HW valve for the optional 1 row coil will be 3-way L&D type (CAM-V11 Kvs=4 ; CAM-V22 Kvs=4 ; CAM-V 33 Kvs=6,3 ; CAM-V 44 Kvs= 6,3) Actuators will be L&D type SSC 819

Fan section

The Conditioner CAM-V is equipped with quiet, low speed centrifugal fan(s), each with integral variable-speed independent electric motor with built-in thermal protection. The electric motors are IP10 protection and class F insulation. The fan speed is automatically controlled by the Hiromatic microprocessor controller (0-10 V output) according to the air volume drawn by the Terminal Units AET-TU. The fans are double-inlet with statically and dynamically-balanced impellers with lifetime-lubricated bearings for quiet, vibration-free operation (IP10 electric motor as standard, 1 phase, 6 pole). They are secured by toggle belts and anti-vibration gaskets on V11 and V22, whilst the fans of V33 and V44 units are mounted on antivibration frames and secured by toggle belts. Fan motors are fitted with automatically resettable temperature sensing devices. Each CAM-V is provided with an electronic flow sensor to check the operation of the unit. Each fan can be fitted with a pressure switch for remote indication.

1.6 Electrical board

1.8 Humidifier

The Units are designed for 400 (+/- 10%) V /3ph + N + PE/50Hz for versions with electric heaters and/or humidifiers, and 230 (+/- 10%) V/1 ph +N + PE/50 Hz for versions with lphw coils. The electrical board is factory-wired and complies with IEC standards. It is isolated from the air stream, and is accessible via the front panel. It is protected by safety locks with a special key. An additional plastic panel protects the electrical components with power supplies higher than 24 V. Basically, the electrical board includes: main isolator, transformer, circuit breakers, fan motor contacters, fan motor speed contacter, humidifier, electric heater contacters and AET-FA (Fresh Air Module) contacts. Free contacts for remote signalling are available.

An electric steam humidifier (Humidair) is available as an option (5 kg/h nominal steam humidifier with electronic control and humitemp sensor). The humidifier can use any type of hard or soft water, provided it is not distilled water. It produces clean, particle-free steam almost instantly by passing an electric current through a heating element within the water in a disposable plastic cylinder. Steam humidification ensures that the water is sterilised before being introduced into the air stream. This eliminates the biological risks. A unique salinity detector allows the humidifier to be tuned to the quality of almost any water supply, to control accurately the rate of steam output and maximise the life of the boiler cylinder. A warning light shows when the cylinder requires replacement. Replacement takes a matter of seconds, it not being necessary to disconnect the supply or drain lines. An automatic flush control system which limits the salt concentration in the cylinder is standard.

1.7 Control system A factory-wired electronic control system provides an automatic and continuous control of the supply air temperature and humidity to maintain the area at the required conditions. The Microface controller plus Hiromatic display automatically control the airflow supplied by the CAM-V on the basis of the air volume drawn by the AET-TU (connected to the CAM-V) from the raised floor plenum. Additional control modules may be fitted for humidity control, outdoor compensation and connection to an external Building Management System. Electronic automatic control consists of:  1 x Microface controller with two outputs for heating and cooling  1 x Hiromatic Evolution display (optional)  1 x zone room air temperature sensor  1 x supply air temperature sensor  1 x multi-input board  1 x alarm card or electric-heater card  1 x water thermostat (not for CAM-V units with the optional 1 row heating coil)

Optional modules

The following additional optional modules are available:  humidification (described above)  dehumidification is available whether or not a humidifier is fitted, although the additional heating coil (electrical or lphw) is required.  compensation for external temperature and/or outdoor air temperature  connection to BMS via Hirolink (local or remote control)

1.10 Packing Each unit is protected by polystyrene panels and corners, and wrapped in plastic film. On request, wooden crates or cases can be supplied for ocean shipment.
