Scape Welcome Festival Scape’s Welcome Festival is a 3-week long festival tailored to welcoming new and returning residents by fostering an engaging environment, providing helpful services and equipping residents with local knowledge. Each year, the Multicultural Community Centre presents the ‘Technicolour Chinese New Year Night Markets’ including lion dancing, calligraphy workshops, cultural shows, and fire crackers. We will take the Scape Shuttle to Newmarket to enjoy these festive markets.
Can’t make our first meet and greet? No worries – we’ll be back in the Kitchen Friday night to help you get to meet your new neighbours and the Scape Student Ambassadors.

Market Day Saturday 22nd February 2:00pm-4:00pm | Lower Ground The 2020 Scape Market Day will host a variety of stalls and activities that will give residents the opportunity to familiarise themselves with a number of external student services, university clubs, and local Brisbane brands from cultural university clubs to meet people with similar backgrounds, to unique social clubs that are all about making friends and having fun.
Learning how to make the perfect coffee, discovering the best local cafes and businesses, competing in a pool competition or learning how to stay healthy during university - our Market Day will have it all! There is no better time than Market Day to sign up to university clubs, get involved, grab some freebies, enjoy a sausage sizzle lunch on us!

Nutrition Station Our nutrition station is available from Monday - Friday in our kitchen located on the Lower Ground. Please remember to bring your own cups, plates and cutlery.
Communal Areas Scape’s Backyard, Lower Ground Terrace and Rooftop terraces are open between 7am and 10pm Monday - Friday. Our Rooftop spaces can be hired out for private events, please see reception for more information.

Waste Guidelines The garbage disposals are located on each level. They can be found by taking an immediate right once you have exited the elevators, and then another right which will take you to the start of the hallway . You will find the bin chutes located in the ‘Refuse Room’ with waste guidelines for what to put in each chute. Please refer to the waste guidelines at the bin chutes to see what else you can place in the General Waste & Recycling bin.

Quiet Request We understand that the exam period can be one of the most stressful few weeks at university. As part of our Stress Less initiative the whole building is a Quiet Zone every day all day during study and examination time, weeks 14-16 of the University academic calendar each semester.
