The Scape events program. We know that we have some of the finest young minds living with us, so we’ll do plenty to make sure you’re active, motivated and inspired. All under your roof, you’ll find talks to broaden your mind, demonstrations to sharpen your skills and events to open up doors for life after uni.

Scape Welcome Festival Scape’s Welcome Festival is a 3-week long festival tailored to welcoming new and returning residents by fostering an engaging environment, providing helpful services and equipping residents with local knowledge. Move in to your new home, meet the staff and Student Ambassadors & mingle with your new neighbours at events.

Each year, the Multicultural Community Centre presents the ‘Technicolour Chinese New Year Night Markets’ including lion dancing, calligraphy workshops, cultural shows, and fire crackers. We will take the Scape Shuttle to Newmarket to enjoy these festive markets.

Join us for a tour of the beautiful place you now live - Toowong! We will go on a walking tour to explore what the neighbourhood has to offer, showing you all the local gems!

Meet & Greet Tuesday 11th February 7:00pm – 9:00pm | Kitchen Get to meet your new neighbours and the Scape Student Ambassadors.

Meet & Greet Friday 14th February 7:00pm – 9:00pm | Kitchen Can’t make our first Meet & Greet? No worries – we’ll be back in the Kitchen Friday night to help you get to meet your new neighbours and the Scape Student Ambassadors.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary Trip** Friday 21st February 8:00am – 4:00pm | Meet at reception Join us on a trip to Lone Pine where you will discover, learn about, and get up close with the local Australian wildlife with your new Scape neighbours and friends.

Amazing Race Sunday 23nd February 4:00pm - 6:00pm | Meet at Reception Are you new to Brisbane? Are you a bit confused about where to go, what to see, and what those weird skinny white birds are? Or do you simply just want to meet your new neighbours? Scape has you sorted! We have created a fun way for residents to get to know the Scape Toowong Building, Brisbane, and your fellow residents! The winning team will receive prizes!

Surf Lessons ** Sunday 1st March 8:00am – 2:30pm | Meet at reception It’s Australia and it’s summer – so it’s time to hit the beach and learn to surf the waves we are so famous for having. Please note, you will not be taught how to swim so only register if you are a competent swimmer.

Games Room Our games room is a great place to challenge your fellow Scape residents in a video game!

Study Sanctuary Our study zones give you the perfect opportunity to study by yourself in a study booth or with friends in our open plan study zones.

Kitchen The kitchen will be your favourite place to catch up with your new friends and meet new people. We hold Family Food Fight cook off’s and cooking classes here.

24/7 Reception Our 24/7 reception help desk is your one stop for everything you need to know about your stay at Scape. If you ever have a question or problem, come down to see our friendly staff.

Gym Come down to the Gym for a workout! We have all the equipment you need for the perfect workout.

Events & Building Activities We have so many exciting events every week at Scape Toowong. Stay up to date with our monthly events calendar which is released a few days before the start of a new month. Calendars are available from reception for you to take and hang on the noticeboard in your room. Calendars can also be found in the communal areas.

Quiet Request We understand that the exam period can be one of the most stressful few weeks at university. As part of our Stress Less initiative the whole building is a Quiet Zone every day all day during study and examination time, weeks 14-16 of the University academic calendar each semester.

Waste Guidelines The garbage disposals are located on each level. They can be found by taking a left

once you have exited the elevators, and then another left at the end of the corridor. You will find the bin chutes located in the ‘Refuse Room’ with waste guidelines for what to put in each chute. Please refer to the waste guidelines at the bin chutes to see what else you can place in the General Waste & Recycling bin. We want Scape Toowong to be an environmentally friendly building for all our residents, please see below for how you can help.
