From the Estate of Edward J. Tynan Lots 2001-2098
Edward (Edo) J. Tynan, was a lifelong scholar of East Asian culture, art and poetry. His collection represents 30 years of examination, discovery and devotion, delighting in the history and subtlety of objects. As a long-time member of the Japanese Art Society of America (JASA), Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Metropolitan Museum of Art, Ed could be found attending lectures and events and wandering around museums in the Boston area and throughout the northeast. He would be pleased to have his private collection up for auction to entice others to stop, contemplate and enjoy its inherent beauty.
