The electoral pre-campaign is already evident in the political parties that are ramping up their contacts and working sessions. These are days of intense work for the candidates, meeting with colleagues from other municipalities to share experiences and knowledge, in addition to talking with the public.
The Mayor of Benahavís, José Antonio Mena, recently visited Manilva, along with the councillor of Casares Francisco Abel Carrasco, to share with the PP Manilva mayoral candidate, José Manuel Fernández, with whom he spoke about management and government council of a prestigious Costa del Sol Town Hall, such as Benahavís. Both councillor Juani Ortiz and Dean Shelton also took part. José Antonio Mena has been the Mayor of Benahavis for 12 years. Benahavis ranks third in Spain as the municipality with the most golf courses, only topped by Marbella and Mijas. Benahavís is the top in the number of golf courses per head of population and, in addition to golf, the town is famous for its restaurants and is known as the Costa del Sol's 'Gastronomic Corner', making its Mayor more than appropriate to pass on his knowledge of best management and practices in the municipal day-today work.
