Recount writing

A recount is a text that is written about past experiences or events that the writer was involved in or has researched.

Prompts to prepare for recount writing

•Start by briefly telling each other what happened.

•Explain in more detail what happened first. What did you see? What did you do? What did you feel? What are some words you could use to describe what happened?

• Explain in more detail what happened next. What did you see? What did you do? What did you feel? What are some words you could use to describe what happened?

• Explain in more detail what happened after that. What did you see? What did you do? What did you feel? What are some words you could use to describe what happened?

•Explain what happened at the end.
