CARROLL WHITE REMC SPONSORS 10 STUDENTS TO CAMP KILOWATT

Carroll White REMC is sponsoring 10 area students to Camp Kilowatt, formerly known as Touchstone Energy Camp. On June 7-10, the 10 students will attend this event at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Indiana.

Students entering seventh grade in 2023 are eligible to attend and are selected to participate in the threeday camp. Their agenda combines traditional outdoor camp activities, environmental education, electrical safety practices and cooperative business education.

“This is an exciting way for students to learn about the role of their electric cooperative in the community where they live while experiencing all the fun of camp activities,” said Cathy Raderstorf, CEO of Carroll White REMC. “Carroll White REMC has traditionally been a proud supporter of this experience and we are excited to continue this tradition.”

Camp Kilowatt was developed by a committee of electric cooperative employees from Indiana, including representatives from Carroll White REMC. The camp is funded in part by Indiana Electric Cooperatives, Hoosier Energy, Wabash Valley Power and other industry partners.
