Each year Frederica Academy holds a signature fundraising event themed around “the most exciting two minutes in sports,” the Kentucky Derby. While the Thoroughbreds thunder around the one and a quarter mile track at Churchill Downs, spectators wearing fascinators and festive attire will be cheering them on via televised simulcast at Frederica Golf Club for the first time in Derby Day history.

Event Co-chairs Katie & Jason Widener and Lauren & Parker Lavin are thrilled to be heading up the 21st anniversary of Derby Day in this new venue on Saturday, May 6. Joining Frederica Golf Club as a presenting sponsor is Beachview would like to participate in the silent auction or purchase Derby Day merchandise. Event Rentals & Design. Beachview has been setting the stage for Derby Day exquisitely for years and we can’t wait to see what it will look like this May!

In addition to the simulcast of the race and betting booth, this fantastic evening of excitement includes an awesome raffle drawing, a live auction with lively bidding, as well as an online silent auction offering amazing experiences, fabulous art, jewelry, and so much more! Of course, another highlight is the food and drink. Mint juleps, champagne, and other spirits will flow freely to accompany the delicious spread prepared by Frederica’s talented culinary crew. The post-race band party featuring music by Mason Waters and the Groove Allstars will have you dancing the night away. And don’t forget the parade of hats! From whimsical creations to wondrous millinery, the display of fashionable headwear is always a treat.

Response for Derby Day last year was tremendous, and this year is expected to be much the same, so event tickets are currently only offered as a part of sponsorship packages (ranging from a $500 level to underwriting opportunities).

Individual event tickets will only be available for purchase if supplies exceed sponsorship demand. If you plan to attend, make sure to act quickly!

Not only is this one of the most fun and highly anticipated events in the Golden Isles, your sponsorship and support of Derby Day is important. While the race lasts just two minutes, your support impacts a lifetime of learning. Derby Day proceeds support every aspect of student life and play a critical role in delivering the Frederica Academy mission of enriching each student’s mind, body, and spirit.
