Golden Isles Live! is excited to announce its 2021-2022 concert season! A December 3 performance by ReVoiced at Wesley United Methodist Church will usher in both the concert and holiday season. Read more about that concert on page 36 in our Holiday Happenings feature. In 2022, Christiana Pegoraro will return as one of the most gifted pianists in the world on January 28. Virtuoso performance combined with humor and pop culture are what make Duo Baldo fabulously unique. On March 5, this acclaimed duo of comedic musicians will make you laugh out loud. Finally, on May 6, Sons of Serendip will be here! They were finalists on America’s Got Talent, have performed with the Boston Pops, and have released four successful albums! STAFFINS RECOGNIZED BY GEORGIA TREND

Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Ralph Staffins was selected by Georgia Trend magazine as one of 2021’s Top 40 Under 40. Two years under the cut-off age, at 38 years old, Staffins, has a well-established reputation for helping businesses succeed. “Our economy is the regional leader,” Staffins says. “We need to talk not just to our members but to entire business community.” In 2020, Staffins served as chair of the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives with his term extended an additional year due to the pandemic. Staffins also serves on the boards of directors for the Golden Isles College and Career Academy Foundation and Coastal Pines Technical College, where his passion for workforce education can be put to good use. BUTLER NAMED EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

STAR Foundation of Coastal Georgia has welcomed Dr. Markisha Butler as its Executive Director. Dr. Butler brings over 17 years of experience in Workforce Development. Her most recent experience includes a role as Regional Leader with WorkSource Coastal and Mentor with Coastal Plains Charter High School. In addition to her professional experience, Dr. Butler is active in various civic and community organizations including The Children’s Reading Foundation of Georgia, College of Coastal Georgia Foundation, and Glynn County School District CTAE Advisory Team. “Dr. Butler’s experience in workforce development, and lifelong service to the Coastal Region, will be invaluable at helping STAR carry out its mission. She is joining the team at a critical time when workforce and talent development is important to many of our regional businesses,” said Vanessa Wagner, Golden Isles Development Authority, volunteer Board Member.
