GOLF FOR GRACE

Join Grace House of Brunswick at Sea Island’s Retreat Golf Course on Saturday, December 11 for their 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Registration is $150/players or $600/foursome and includes 18 holes with cart and box lunch. There will also be prizes and a variety of silent auction items. Grace House is the only Christ-centered, women’s sober living home in Brunswick, offering a full year of intensive, residential addiction treatment for up to 11 women at a time. It exists to provide women, regardless of their socioeconomic situation, an opportunity to seek recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol through following Christ’s example and teachings. Rent paid by residents through their employment only covers approximately 35% of annual budgeted needs for treatment. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. FISHING UNDER A CATFISH MOON

The Brunswick Actors Theatre presents Catfish Moon by Laddy Sartin November 13-14, 20-21, 27-28. This play offers something for everyone: romance, friendship, and fishing! The old fishing pier out on the end of Cypress Lake has just fallen under the magic of another Catfish Moon. It was the favorite hangout for three best friends when they were kids – skipping school, skinny dipping and even experiencing the mysteries of kissing girls. On the pier, the weight of adulthood is lifted by laughter and their love of fishing. Showtimes Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain. This island tradition is the primary fundraiser for the Glynn Community Crisis Center/Amity House, which serves victims of domestic violence and their children.
