A Stronger World
Continuous Sustainability Efforts
We believe in building A Stronger World. We continuously look for ways we can do more to promote sustainable practices in our processes, product development and supply chain. We work to positively impact our industry, communities, and customers by monitoring and managing our social and environmental performance. Our ISO 14001 certification, sustainability initiatives, durable design, material choices, ultra-clean bar steel, and investments in our supply chain and manufacturing are central to our vision of becoming a carbon-neutral and socially sustainable company.
Durable Design We design products that last. They are built from the finest quality components and crafted to withstand the test of time rep after rep, drop after drop. Making quality products that last a lifetime benefits our customers and the environment.
Clean Steel and Sustainable Materials Our proprietary Swedish ultra-clean steel has been the foundation of our bars since 1957. We use manufacturing processes that reduce environmental impact while our bars retain their distinguishing characteristics; strength and flexibility. We partner in two major industrial projects in Sweden that seek to produce fossil-free steel.
In the last couple of years, we have increased the use of organic cotton and recycled polyester in apparel and lifting accessories production.
Production and Supply Chain We actively work to bring manufacturing and sourcing closer to home for better control and transparency. We have successfully moved sourcing for some of our core products, apparel and gear during 2021 and continue to invest in additional in-house manufacturing capacity.
In 2022 we will complete the construction of an 18,300 m2 logistics centre next to our existing offices. A vital element of this project has been to achieve a high level of environmental certification (silver) and install solar panels for renewable energy sourcing.

Eleiko joined the UN Global Compact, as part of our commitment to be a socially responsible company. Working actively with sustainability and human rights is fundamental to our vision of building a stronger world.

Committed to UN Global Compact Eleiko is a part of the United Nations Global Compact initiative — a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.
The UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative globally, with more than 10,000 companies in over 160 countries.
The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact
Human Rights 1. Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and 2. make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour 3. Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining; 4. the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour; 5. the effective abolition of child labour; and 6. the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment 7. Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges; 8. undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and 9. encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-Corruption 10. Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
For A Stronger World
Developing carbon neutral bars
Carbon neutrality is a state of net-zero carbon emissions achieved by balancing emissions of greenhouse gases with its removal or eliminating emissions from society. To create carbon neutral bars, we must have a deep understanding of our core product.
In 2022 we will conduct a comprehensive life cycle assessment to determine the carbon footprint of an Eleiko bar. Our emissions generally come from raw material extraction to manufacturing, distribution, use, and final disposal or recycling. In 2021 our Swedish steel partner Ovako announced a carbon neutral steel initiative which will be a big step in helping us reach our goal.
Once we establish our carbon footprint, we can reduce our emissions and take action to create the first carbon neutral Eleiko bar.
Set your bar high, be kind, and do more of what makes you stronger.
