About me: I am 23 years old and I am a final year student of Architecture at Etsam. Having little teaching load I am looking for an opportunity to begin the working experience, that would allow me to complement everything I have learned at university, but in a real work environment. I like teamworking, which I consider essential component of our profession, although I would also say I can be an independent person. Besides, I am used to handle high-pressure and liability situations, based upon my own experience of working with young children. In addition, I am interested in education and research field related with architecture. Personally I travel as much as I can; I enjoy painting, cinema and reading.

[Chengdu new Science City] _2016
FRIEDMANN: In this “world of places” it is important to understand how to make “a place”. They are to be defined as the small spaces of the city where ordinary stories of life are played out. The difficult point when building a new urban fabric – like our science city – is that it is not directly to create places, but to design first some landmarks that can become places with time and use. When a sociospatial bound is forged the space start being a thing itself; it becomes, in words of David Harvey, an absolute space. This is the opportunity to work-leisure-residential activities to be mixed into the same urban fabric, and letting social life occur beyond commercial purposes or strictly defined-sites only. By activating nodal points of public services at different scale levels (city, neighborhood, megablock), we achieve this,[...]
We propose a gradual scale system of interconnected projects located in a focal point for publicity in the new city of Chengdu, where the high vertical congestion of the financial zone converges with the zero-scale of the lake.

We are not accepting collective spaces where social life is inexistent as public space [...] On the contrary, we seek for some not so imposed spaces of (not) socializing, but for those pocket pubic spheres used by everyone at everytime.

[Kindergarten + Botanical Garden] _2016
A small scale project is developed within a new “science city in Chengdu, China. This combination of programs seeks to promote social mobility and equal oportunities into accesibility to public space with a flexible schedule. The traditional chinese siheyuan type is studied in order to create something new based on its geometric rules: the relation between building and courtyards.

[Docks Dora Torino restoration] _2016
Docks Dora Magazzini’s structure is made of reinforced concrete. Being one of the first examples in Italy to apply the so-called Hennebique system. The structure system incorporates the following elements: 1. A series of main paralel beams with a span of 3.5m. 2. Joint by a system of joists perpendicular to the main beams with a span of 1.5m. 3. This horizontal system is supported by a 0.5x0.5m pillar grid of 3.5x5m.

reuse design
The main idea is to take advantage of a structure that was already there; at first view it seemed very strict and regular but eventually we were able to play with some more flexible programs and distribution. Our aim in the central piece of the compound is to make it permeable in order to be the new public space. The insertion of the program inside the boxes highlights the importance of the original concrete structure; by contrast between the lightness of the new and the massivness of the old in the inner space.

The relation between the old architecture and the new one is treated in many different ways. We tried to develop both a compatibility and distinctiveness process.

“A cloud is a new image for architecture Obviously a cloud is not constructed solely of a cloud. The set of pieces that gives form to the covering proposal is the result of a variety (and not variation) of one structural form. Variety means difference whereas variation means selfsimilarity. Difference, or the possibility for difference, is produced as an answer to program. A cloud is made up of small particles, it is the air that support these. The atmosphere in its entirely forms a huge structure.

children playground The piazza needs to be more than a market. It needs more fun! The proposal is to give a space to the neighborhood’s children, taking into account the proximity of the school, which makes it perfect to be used also at breaks in the morning or after class, in the afternoon. The willing is to give value to the public space and the relations that occur in it. It is not only a space for the youngest, but also a meeting point for the rest of the family.

“Reutilization of the existing towards a more ethic architecture is the main idea for working at PMOV; a 70.000 m 2 building previously used for parking, and whose structural and spatial characteristics have great potential. A big complex devoted to paper is proposed: from collecting, elaborating, and investigating to the architectural apllcation in the new building itself.

manage + programmatic system
The new activity cluster wants to be a closed system, and therefore self-sufficient. Different economic and social models are studied in order to propose one that fits into the legal framework: a coooperative of relinquisehd property. To define the specific programs and how to match them, a “compatibility by spatial characteristics” SISTEMA DE ORGANIZACIÓN test is carried out, giving us unexpected synergies cooperativa de cesión de uso autogestionada of possibilities.

[Valdeluz housing stydy] _2014
If we could detach ourselves from tiem and reality, and suddenly we appeared in this city, we could be anyhwere: an urban environment created by a repertoire architecture which has been turned into an abandonment structure due to the real state crisis. Architecture cannot be, never again, just “space. Another factors are to be handled.
urban growth potential
New programs to reactivate the city are not a single action, but a system to be reproduced along time. The nodes which are going to be invaded are the concrete structres of unfinished buildings.

[This tower is a bridge] _2016, Honorific mention 24H Syria_Ideas Forward Competition Together with: Javier Peláez García
“On this exercise we pretend to invert established concepts and ideas. Extend its limits to other realities once disregarded. A tower, a symbol of capitalism, only accesible for the elites. It pretends to elevate man to another level. Reach the sky and observe the world from above, in a top view, an omnipresent status. Why don’t think and design a tower for those that most need it? So we intend to reverse this concept and modify the rules of the game. The combination of a tower to a social use, rather than purely economic interests and power!”

“Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa. Covering a total of 18,989 km², it extends 400 km from north to south and 60 km from east to west. Tourism is without a doubt the greatest hope for the survival of the species, since money generated by visitors who want to view this magnificent animal along with the other large animals of Africa, motivates the countries affected with this issue to invest resources in protecting these species. The goal of this competition is to create a visitor centre and accommodation for tourists and volunteers, whose main objective is to collect funds for animal protection. The IWC will receive tourists interested in a learning experience that includes direct contact with the species that live in Kruger National Park, as well as professionals, volunteers linked to the veterinarian studies and the care and protection of animals and nature, who want to broaden their knowledge of these species, as well as contribute to the protection of their habitat.”

[A shelter for the mind] _2014 Re-considering shelter_Shelter International Architectural Design Competition Together with: Ricardo González Ortiz Javier Peláez García
“When we hear the word ‘shelter’ we think of something like a tent, a mountain shed, an air-raid shelter, or a nuclear shelter. A shelter is architecture that is made for a very simple purpose - to protect human beings from harsh nature and from our enemies. While we are there we are protected from storm & rain, wild animals and missiles, and our peace of mind is secure. It is a place of security and safety. If the conventional idea of a shelter is a place that protects us from nature and enemies, what new type of shelter might we need in the future? In what ways would a re-considered shelter be different from the conventional idea of a shelter, and in what ways would it be the same? The size and structure of your shelter can be freely decided, and you can locate it in a city or in the wild, but you must clearly describe its context and the ways in which it is used. You must re-consider the purpose of a shelter.”

[CCC] _2013, Honorific mention Cebada Community Centre_Archie Competition Together with: Ricardo González Ortiz Javier Peláez García
“The Mercado de la Cebada (Barley Market) opened in 1962, but the proliferation o shopping malls meant it had to close after a few years later. The plot has been used since 2011 by the neighbours as a place to hold all sorts of civic and cultural activities. The market has a great potential as a node for generating activity, not only through economic means, but also as a social centre, aspects that should be taken into consideration when planning the intervention. The point is to investigate what solutions are usefull for the area, and which might reactivate it. The neighbours miss the old sports centre and swimming pool, as well as a dedicated home for elders.”
