Group 1 1. Write about Paul and Don’s relationship focusing on the similarities and differences between both characters. Paul and Don are both pilots so they love planes, especially old planes like the DC4 model called “Sugar Glider”. They have similar interests and they are old friends too. When Don and his exwife Sylvia divorced, Paul was very upset. They have a kind of fatherson relationship. Paul thinks that he and Don could open a flying school and get retired from flying. As for the differences between both characters I don’t really notice great differences. Maybe Paul is a little bit more delighted with the idea of creating the flying school and Don thinks more about his relationship with his exwife and daughter
Group 2 3. Who has been your favourite character in this story? Give reason for your answer, including a description of that character. My favourite character in this story is Don. I admire pilots, maybe because I am really afraid of flying and have vertigo. Don seems to be a man in his lateforties, a man who keeps fit, because of his job, and a reasonable father, trying to save time to be with his daughter Judy. But I also like other characters like Judy and Joe. These three characters are the best of the book in my opinion.
Group 3 5. Judy proves to be a very brave girl during the story. Why? She manages to look for help for his father and in the second part of the story she is the real main character in the story. She tames a wild horse, rides in the wilderness, escapes from the bad guys and saves her father. Because of these things she proves to have an iron will and the determination to be not only a very brave girl but nearly a heroine, and in the end she receives her reward for her exploits: her family is reunited again.
