The project, known as DeSales Flats Phase II, is a $17.3 million project at the corner of Lincoln and Woodburn avenues. Chad Munitz, vice president of development for Mount Adams-based Towne Properties, said this latest phase of apartments are a model of what the developer can do. “We’re making sure we’re not skimping on anything,” Munitz told me. Munitz the next three buildings are each a month behind the other, so the remaining buildings will be completed in November, December and January. Towne Properties is the developer for the project. Towne Building Group is serving as the construction manager for the apartments. PDT Architects is the lead architect on the project with Human Nature working on the outdoor amenity space.
The apartments have lots of natural light thanks to an abundance of large windows. Almost every unit in the development has a private balcony or patio. Residents will be able to select from six accent wall colors for their apartment. The kitchens include brushed stainless steel appliances, subway tile backsplashes and extra deep sinks. Each unit includes a full-size washer and dryer. The bathrooms have extra deep soaking tubs, as well as upgrade cabinetry, granite counters and framed mirrors. Rent at DeSales Flats Phase II will range from $1,299 per month to $1,479 for one-bedroom apartments. Munitz said the first building is already 25 percent leased. The community room in this phase will include games, a fireplace and a full kitchen. Since the first phase as a number of medical students, Jamie Hollis, a community manager with Towne Properties, said they made sure to have a lounge area and printers in this next phase to give those residents an option for studying outside of their apartment.
