Sheila combined her loves for figurative art and women in profile to create this painting. She challenged herself to make it all about the red in the painting without detracting from the subject. Might I say, way to draw the viewer’s eye!

WELCOME...

...to the December 2021 issue of Elevate Your Art magazine. We have officially arrived in the season of giving and thankfulness, and this particular issue certainly evokes feelings of thankfulness for me.

This issue marks one full year of the magazine being published. It has been such a wonderful thing to document a whole year of artistic growth for the members of Beyond the Brushes.

As 2021 comes to a close, I’m excited to see the growth of both the magazine and the artistic growth of Beyond the Brushes in 2022!

Ann needed a formal name for her home because it’s a place in her children’s books. After deciding on “Cottontail Moors” because of the abundance of bunnies on the property, she made a mascot. This little guy will go on adventures in all of the seasons to several different places.

Janice’s friend shared a picture of this juvenile White-Face Owl named Lulu from the Scottish Owl Centre. She was moved by the image because the Centre is actively involved in the conservation of these charming birds, so she decided to turn it into a memorable keepsake.
