‘TIS THE SEASON
WITH THE HOLIDAY SEASON IN FULL SWING, OUR BEYOND THE BRUSHES MEMBERS HAVE BEEN SHARING PAINTINGS THAT SHOW WHAT THE HOLIDAYS MEAN TO THEM. AND WITH A GLOBAL COMMUNITY LIKE OURS, THAT CAN MEAN MANY DIFFERENT THINGS!
WE SELECTED JUST A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY IMAGES TO SHARE.
(Santa image above) Artist: Shelly Ellis sellisphotography.com
Shelly’s goal when she joined Beyond the Brushes was to elevate her photography, so she almost always exclusively uses her own images. For the holidays, she pulled out her photograph of one of the best model Santa’s she has seen so far and got to work.
Artist:Kimberly Guardipee www.guardipeephotography.com
Kimberly wanted to fulfill her childhood dream this Christmas season. Specifically, her dream was to paint a cartoon-esque image, and she chose to reimagine something a little more festive with this cardinal. What a fantastic idea for kicking off the holiday season!
Artist: Lesley Davidson www.qquirkyvintage.com
Lesley has been working on a series of graphite-style wildlife paintings. Originally, she focused her efforts on native Australian wildlife but decided to expand her horizons. Dogs, cats, and, of course, a reindeer fit the bill for that expansion.
Artist: Paulette Cassidy
Paulette felt that an Australian-themed Christmas was in order. Her goal was to demonstrate the drastic difference between the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. What better way than a fantasy scene from the Outback with animals and a caravan to boot?
Artist: Farrah Welch www.farrahwelchphotography.com
Farrah put a classic Santa portrait on her Christmas list and decided to mark it off early. Going back to fond memories of her mom putting out decorative tins with Santa, she made one for her home. She hopes her kids will enjoy the tradition as much as she did.
Artist: Kathy Terry kathyterryphotography.com
Kathy couldn’t help but capture this precious memory of her granddaughter’s first Christmas. Though Kathy confesses her granddaughter was more interested in the lights than the presents, it is sure to be one that her family will never forget.
