Wren Kitchens created a calming space for our busy family lifestyle

Leila and Carl Eldred wanted a functional, open-plan kitchen that could bring the whole family together, including their two young boys and pet dog

The family instantly fell in love with the light-toned and functional Country Ermine kitchen in Pebble when they visited Wren’s showroom

Leila is overjoyed with her new open-plan family kitchen, where the whole family can spend time together he kitchen today serves more purpose than simply somewhere to cook and

Teat – it’ s now a multifunctional space in the centre of the home, in which family and friends can spend quality time together. Expert designers at Wren Kitchens understand that everyone ’ s lifestyle is different, so their kitchens need to function differently, too. No matter the size or layout of your kitchen, Wren will work closely with you to create a tailor-made design that suits your lifestyle.

To see how Wren collaborates with their customers to create bespoke designs, check out Leila and Carl’ s family-friendly kitchen transformation. Her home is part of the #Wrenovation series, which shines a spotlight on real customer kitchen renovations.

STEP ONE Leila and Carl Eldred lead a busy lifestyle at home with their two young boys and pet Rottweiler, Harlow, so a space that was calming and could bring the whole family together was top priority when it came to updating their kitchen. e previous space was dimly lit and narrow with a separate dining room, so when they walked into their local Wren Kitchens showroom in Royal Tunbridge Wells they were on the lookout for a bright kitchen with a functional open-plan layout. ‘We had a look around all the different kitchens in the showroom and fell in love with the Country Ermine kitchen straight away, ’ says Leila.

‘It even had a pet bed feature – I didn ’t know I wanted one before ’ , she smiles. ‘It’ s such a good idea! Now Harlow can enjoy his very own space, safely tucked away when I’ m cooking. ’

STEP TWO Leila knew she wanted a large kitchen sink in the island as a focal point so she could oversee the kitchen, rather than having her back turned. e couple also decided to get all new appliances through Wren. ‘We ’ re so happy with what we chose, ’ says Leila. ‘We ’ ve got a dishwasher, which comes in really handy with having two kids, and the wine cooler is great for us when entertaining – we love having people over now, ’ she adds.

STEP THREE e delivery process was another standout to Leila. ‘It was absolutely fantastic – Wren bought everything in for me, placed it where I wanted it and checked it all off, ’ explains Leila. Now, the spacious kitchen is the most used room in the Eldreds ’ home, where they can eat all their meals together and entertain family and friends on a regular basis. During summer, they can open the bi-fold doors and enjoy spending quality time all together. ‘e kitchen ’ s really become the heart of our home now there ’ s so much room for both of us, the kids and Harlow – it’ s perfect. ’

Maximise the social aspect of the kitchen like Leila has, with a central island that features a sink, breakfast bar and wine cooler

A pet bed is a handy feature for this busy family kitchen; Harlow now has a neat, tucked away spot in the heart of the home and it provides useful storage for her toys and bowl
