Revamp my fire

I love your magazine – it inspired me to transform my fireplace! I made the candle holders with cement and spray paint. I also made the heart decoration out of twigs and reused an old basket for wood storage. My room looks so fresh now and I’ ve saved money in the process by upcycling. Stacy Chapman, by email

While sorting out my dad’s shed l came across my grandad’s old stepladder and some of my dad’s old ceramic plant pots. Using some paint I already had in my cupboard,

plant stand for the garden. This is the result; I know my dad would have loved the stand as he was a keen gardener, and it brings back lovely memories when I look at it. Sarah Swift, by email

Hallway heaven

I was inspired by your ‘DIY Updates for Weekend Decorating’ to add a radiator cover in my hallway. My partner is in the military and often away, so I like to keep busy until he returns. I purchased the MADE.com pendant light a while ago and felt the plain walls and outdated radiator didn’t do it justice. Due to the radiator’s size, I did go slightly over my £250 budget. However, I’ ve thoroughly enjoyed dressing it and the prints on the wall make me smile. It’s wonderful to see what can be achieved in such a short time! Elizabeth Edwards, by email
