Elham Bahrain
Elham, Arabic for ‘muse’, is a grassroots ‘arts’ organisation that fills a cultural void by providing a platform for new and emerging creative talents to express themselves. Since launching in November 2006, the group has showcased the work of a range of artists, from filmmakers to photographers, poets to playwrights, drawing an increasing number of people to its monthly events. Not just for Bahrainis or expats or just for one gallery community or another, Elham links different minds and affiliations, as well as different forms of expression, thus allowing for exposure of new ideas and discourse. A celebration of Bahrain’s creative diversity, Elham also reflects the global reality of contemporary societies in the Gulf region.
