We love to inspire as many people as possible to surround themselves with nature. Therefore we have inspired residents of urban neighbourhoods to come together and create green plans for their community. From ideas like facade gardens and tree pits to greening an entire street. The evidence is clear: doing green together connects people and enhances biodiversity.

Return & recycle
Through our recycling initiatives, we aim to raise awareness about reuse and encourage people around us to participate. We enable consumers to return their old pots to the stores, ensuring that the pots are properly recycled. Our ambition is to use the collected pots to create new elho products. Together with our partners, we contribute to the proper collection and processing of waste.

We are very proud to be the first and only certified B Corporation in the pottery category. We feel it is our responsibility to develop and contribute to a greener world and connect as many people as possible with nature. We are impactful by creating with nature in mind.
The B Corp certification is an international certification for companies that have a significant positive impact on both people and the planet.
After undergoing an intensive assessment, we received this certification in 2020. The process involved a comprehensive assessment of our impact in the areas of governance, employees, community, environment, and customers. As a certified B Corp, we feel a responsibility to keep the world livable, healthy, and safe for future generations.

100% renewable energy
elho is leading in sustainable production. Our production is powered by renewable energy, primarily from our own wind turbine.
Energy is a vital ingredient in our production, and we are fortunate to have our very own green energy powerhouse. In 2016 we installed our own wind turbine in our backyard.
On the roof of our logistic centre 9,000 solar panels with 4.2 megawatt capacity have been shining since 2022, providing a daily dose of solar energy. In case of surplus, this energy can even be stored in a mega battery.
But that’s not all! We are continuously on the lookout for energy saving and regenerative measures to enhance our production process, ensuring a brighter, greener future.

TÜV certified
We deliver what we promise. TÜV awarded the elho group with the Category A certification for the use of recycled material. Products that are Category A certified must contain at least 97% recycled content.

Waste. For us it is sheer beauty. Last year we used more than 12 million kilos of plastic waste that we converted into designer pots. When it comes to the sourcing of raw materials, our purchase team continuously looks for the best recycled materials to make our long lasting products in the most sustainable way. We love to use waste streams with a story…
Made with coffee waste. Billions cups of coffee are consumed each year. However, only a small part of the coffee bean ends up in your cup of coffee. The rest of the coffee grounds end up in general waste systems where most of it is burnt and causes CO2 emissions, which harms the environment.
Together with Coffee Based, who collect coffee waste from companies, we give this waste a new purpose and present you the beauty of coffee waste.

Every year we define, together with our international trendwatchers, the most important colours, shapes and textures for our collection following actual and future trends. We believe in the power of colours. People love to mix colours and use colours to express their own style. Three style trends will be dominant in 2024.
In a world filled with overwhelming stimuli people are actively seeking ways to escape and prioritise their mental wellbeing. This trend embraces soft, transparent colours that promote a ‘slow life’ and minimise external influences like ‘frosted pink’ for the new vibes orchid.

Nature conservation and a deep appreciation for earth’s elements and textures. The new ‘thyme green’ and ‘espresso brown’ colours align perfectly with this trend, appealing to eco-consciousness.
