Background Due to the very cold weather in Europe / CWE, gas and electricity consumption for heating have increased more than significantly In France, the electricity consumption / temperature gradient is extremely steep due to the high level of electrical heating 2300 MW per degree lower according to RTE Over the last few days, France has established new record volumes of over 100 GW, with the current record standing on 101.7 GW since yesterday (compared to the previous record, last year, of “only” 96,7 GW) As a result, prices have increased significantly in France, for the 9th of february Baseload: 367,6 €/MWh Hourly price level of 1938,5 €/MWh for delivery on hour 10, prices above 500 €/MWh during 5 hours Also Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, … are seeing these effects, (e.g. baseload for Belgium for the 9th of 111,92 €/MWh)) Reminder: Beginning of January, negative prices in CWE due to very low load 3
