Section II: Object of the contract II.1) Description II.1.1)
Title attributed to the contract by the contracting entity: Supply of electrical energy for grid losses.

Type of contract and location of works, place of delivery or of performance Supplies Purchase Main site or location of works, place of delivery or of performance: The delivery point for this electrical energy is the Belgian “hub” i.e. a non-physical spot where electricity can be exchanged between ARP’s (cfr. II.1.5) through internal energy transfers as defined in the “Access Responsibility Contract” (cfr. II.1.5). To reach this spot, an ARP can either: (i) import this electrical energy; therefore, it must obtain capacity on the Belgian Northern or Southern border in accordance with the access responsibility contract, and this at its own costs; (ii) produce this electrical energy in Belgium and this in accordance with the access responsible contract; (iii) buy this electrical energy from (an)other ARP(‘s) on the “hub”;

Short description of the contract or purchase(s): Elia, in its capacity of officially designated high tension grid operator in Belgium, intends to conclude with one (or several) ARP(‘s) (“Access Responsible Party”) an agreement for the supply of electrical energy in order to compensate the losses generated by the networks under its operation. A party approved by Elia as an “Access Responsible Party” or “ARP” is a party validly holding an “Access Responsibility Contract”. This party can be a supplier, a consumer or a third party. The Access Responsibility Contract mainly concerns the balancing responsibilities of an ARP on the network. See also III.1.4.
