On the river coast of Isere ‘’La pausa’’ as it’s Spanish meaning ‘’the pause’’, is a place for people to have a pleasant time during the day. The objective of the project was to create a place

where people could relax and enjoy the sun while at the same time have the ability to interact with the river, the water.. Twelve concrete platforms become a big staircase and connect

the upper level of the coast with the low one at the water level. On one hand the dynamic form of this project reinforces the coast’s character while on the same time brings together the
two pathways on the West with the one on the Est. The project provides also a small covered place on the West with concrete benchs. Special attention was given so the benches

become one with the main concrete structure of the project on this specific point so harmony was assured . The project structure is based on the big wall which supports the twelve

concrete platforms. The idea was that the wall was giving the impression of being placed inside the earth by creating the effect of the ‘’flying’’ platforms when the project was
seeing by the opposite side. Platforms thickness was fixed at 45cm to match structure criteria. On the same time this height was ideal for sitting bench and a great game for children.
11
This project was inspired by the height difference of the coast and became an interpretation of it. Architecture is born within the place for the place and the people.
W&E | Artist’s work and expose space.
W&E Artist’s Workshop
W&E is a building where the artist Works and Exposes his work. The concept idea was to find a way to divide this two different spaces but on the same time keep them together.
13
Three vertical elements were putted diagonally in the place to divide the workshop in two parts. On the left the storage area and on the right the working area. One staircase at the

floor, and another to expose on the superior levels. Visitors can view the finished products while being on the exposition level and on the same time communicate with the artist and

WoH | Educational Center
Wo H Educational Center
WoH educational center is located near the Vizille Castle in France. The project is located on a hill located on the west of the historic castle. The program contains two polyvalent
17
classrooms plus one smaller building for storage and technical rooms. During the analyse of the place special remarks were made for the amazing views provided by the site. The main

idea was born by this main characteristic of the place.. path walks, views. Another speciality of the site is the continuation of castle on the hill. It was decided to propose a path
walk during the whole distance of the hill and then make all the program distribution from this long corridor. The program was developed as three independent buildings in a way
that they maintain discreetness on the plan. The two extremities of the corridor have similar spaces which imitate the castles battlements. The corridor becomes a way to explore

the whole area as well as the breathtaking views on each side of the hill. Having in mind the importance of the castle the elevator of the project was imagined to be a dynamic element
just like the tower’s castle in a way that the hill, the elevator and the castle become one. Corridor’’s design is based on sites nature environment which was consider as one of the
19
main guides during conception.Architecture should always respect and enrich the enviroment given.Special attention was given to the balance between castle and project’s nature.

The two polyvalent rooms were designed in a way to provide flexibility to the users. The educational center was a place where the city hall of Vizille was going to be using in
several ways and under numerous circumstances. It was fundamental to create places which provide easy access and on the same time can be used by the city when needed.
21
The project of WoH was envision in continuity with the Castle of Vizille and the idea was to become as an extenson of it placed on this particular situation.

Semi-open Marketplace
L+L semi-open marketplace is located at the Saint Bruno place at Grenoble, France. This wooden structure building was designed as a place where people
23
will be interacting between two spaces. One closed and one open. The program contains also a small cafeteria, a closed storage area, a small office and two technical rooms.
24
Undergraduate Projects | 2nd Year
L+L | Semi-open Marketplace
The two L’s are placed in a way that give a fluidity of the space between them . Visitors from both sides are welcome to explore the area inside and outside of the buildings and
enjoy the architecture of the space. The facades of the buildings are dressed in vertical wooded bars that create a lighting rhythm at inside spaces. L+L marketplace particularity
25
of the form became an outstanding challenge when the project came to structure phase.Once solved, the wooden structure was left exposed in the inside of the building.

Situation Plan
As an urban combination of different size and scale programme, these elements come together to significantly transform a dense centre. The concept idea is based on
orthogonal blocs that come together in a surprise puzzle in which every single one makes sense when they all put together. The buildings each one individually has a fundamental
role on the master plan where several path walks are created within the project. The project on its ground floor it is a place where people can interact in different spaces.

The blocks apart from spaces-to-live creators contain all the structure of the building. The verticality of these blocks becomes the game guidance during conception.
Master’s degree Projects | 1st Year
By analysing the sun and air levels inside the building it was important to create patios to secure a maximum amount of sunlight as well as fresh air circulation.
The different dimensions and forms of the buildings result in multiple typologies of accommodations. In every situation the apartments were designed according there orientation,

there location in relationship with the other project buildings as well as the existing architecture around them. Inside the buildings special attention was given to maintain the clarity
of each block. Some of the blocks contain wc’s, storage areas and fireplaces. The expression of the buildings on the outside was a transparent basis

on the ground floor and for the upper floors it were installed wooden bars panels. The moving panels remind the verticality of the blocks inside the edifice.

SèGUIR Research Institute
SèGUIR Research institute is located on the coast of the Como lake in Italy. The project takes place on a very particular place finding itself between the mountain and the lake.
37
The project is developed in a length of almost two hundred meters giving the impression of a snake reposing on the mountain’s foot. The most important part of the program takes

place on the north as a compact building including two auditoriums, one small and one big, numerous research rooms, administration offices, two laboratories, a cafeteria and on
the top floor a library. On the south of the project the five cubes following the main building are part of the research institute providing accommodation to professors and visitors.
The concept idea was to create an architectural rhythm of open and closed spaces by using the length of the site in addition to generate an interesting experience when travers-

traversing the building. From the inside to the outside the building reacts as a framework generator by giving to visitors and users the ability to benefit from the views opposite the lake.

At the entrance of the building we found ourselves in a semi open area facing the lake and in between the main auditorium and the secondary entrance.

The main auditorium was designed to be independent from the main building to provide more flexibility to the building. The exterior area of the building is surrounded from an
amount of spaces to be used in different ways from the building users, the visitors as well as city’s citizens. Each one of these places was created in relationship with the interior
43
of the building with a special point the staircase arriving to the water in front of the cafeteria. The library of the building on the top floor was designed to be in contradiction as an

area with a different character from the others. Moreover the architectural expression of having a volume reposing on the top of the biggest volume on the ground, this place is
fundamentally important for the production made in the building. The faceades of the library are totally exposed from all sides so users find themselves exploring the
45
surround environment. A semi covered exterior area is given to the library so users can benefit the inside as well at the outside areas for reading.

Geneva _ Personal Model
The project is a connection between the contemporary city on the north and the very old city of Geneva center on the south. Inspired by the old city’s sculptured
morphology the project itself is born by nine dynamic individual sculptured blocks which interact between them shaping the spaces around them.

to the outside and the dynamism gained by this extension of spaces. The facades of the building remain almost closed to maintain the importance of the blocks and the openings
made are according to cracks on the rocks so an expression of a sculpture mass is given. Moving throw the building was imagined to be as moving throw the
old city center. Visitors pass throw staircases integrated in the blocks , above double high pavements and bridges. The experience inside the building

begins with an exposition area at the entrance and then space is transformed in a big polyvalent hall and an auditorium. On the second floor we find the administration , a library

halls are located on the last floor and have their own private entrance. The placement of each part of the program was made in a way to have an organised transition from one activity

to the other in accordance with architectural spacing distribution. At the top level, some massive blocks have shaped-in benches installed so the accessible roofs be pleasant
spaces to use and to explore. During the project, attention was given on the sections of the building. Because of the high difference inside the building the fluidity of space was
55
important to be used in a way so visitors have visibility in numerous spaces and activities on the same time. The concrete blocks are shaped in

addition to present space continuity and form the areas so visitors are guided by this transaction of closing spaces followed by more open spaces.
Concrete differently Two kind sen. One brut. The
surfaces were treated according each block. of surfaces were chorough and one beton idea was to give the
57
impression that blocks were cutted from a massive material. To keep this expression it was important to ‘‘dress’’ each side in a different way than the one near to it.
58
Master’s degree Projects | Final Thesis
DA’ART | Cultural Center
During the project, I gave great importance to the placement, scale and function of each block. In this work, the scale plays a very important role. If any massive blocks
is disproportionate, it weakens the overall plan. On the other hand, if a block is small, it does not have the ability to absorb functions . To conclude I would say
59
that the combination of sculpture and architecture can extend the capacities of an architect and give him the ability to create pieces of art at the edifice scale.
