Elif BalkaĹ&#x; Industrial Designer
About me I graduated from Middle East Technical University (TUR), Department of Industrial Design. I am an easy-going and energetic person with lots of teamwork experience. My undergraduate studies and years I spent in various archery teams contributed these skills a lot. Industrial design discipline taught me critically approach to every problem including daily life. I see design as a way of life rather than just a profession. Hence, I am very keen on improving my approach on design. Hereby, you will see some of my designs and outcomes in this portfolio.

SOUND IN NATURE
IN ÇIĞDEM NEIGBOURHOOD LIFE HAD NO OBSTACLES!
Storyboard How might we prevent prejudice against the disabled using music and nature from early ages?
While returning home from shopping Işıl and her mother become distracted by the sounds coming from the park. When they see a group of children in an activity they decide to take a look.
Işıl discovers new instruments. She likes the instruments making noise while playing. She wants to join to the workshop.
Işıl likes studying rhythm with different instruments for every child and making new friends in workshop.
Neighborhood residents recall the activities that Işıl and her friends participated in as they walk pass the park.
METU student clubs have prepared different activities for each meeting. As other people going through the park join to the project, number of Işıl’s friends increase.
Recordings from the events, comments of the participants and their parents are uploaded on a youtube chanel. Hence awareness will be raised, and more children will be reached.

LOTUS Personal meditation area to changes angry and stressed mood to relaxed and calm mood of grown up people who are working in office. Color project
Problem Statemeynt I want to design a product that changes angry and stressed mood to relaxed and calm mood of grown up people who are working in office.
Idea Creation Color therapy uses light of varying wavelength, thus varying energy. Different wavelength means different colors. This therapy is done by applying different colored lights to 7 chakra points of human body. Balanced Calming Cooling Harmony Serenity Awakening Faith
Good for tired nerves Balancing emotions Soothes the mind Spirit refresher Helps with spiritual healing Good for mental nervous problems
Every chakra has a different meaning and placed at different locations of human body. These chakras can be disturbed in stress or anger conditions. Life loves me! I am lovable. I forgive and let go I receive love every minute of life. I express my emotions freely and respectfully. I realize my talents joyfully! I trust my intuition! My vision is clear. I follow the signs and guidance of The Universe.
Finalisation I want to design a product that changes angry and stressed mood to relaxed and calm mood of grown up people who are working in office.
